We stayed at the apartment for 3 days with our 2 old pugs. It is very stylish with a well equipped kitchen. The bathrooms were very clean and the soap & shower gel felt very high end. Saltburn is an amazing place and the apartment is right in the heart of it. Would definitely recommend.

Spacious and comfortable apartment, well located and good value for money. We shall return!! Positive: The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, the en suite to one of the bedrooms was a bonus as we didn't realise there was one. The apartment is in an excellent location situated on the main road through the town, with some lovely bars, cafes and shops as well as a supermarket conveniently located nearby. Parking was never a problem and all the on street parking is free, if we didn't get parked right outside the door then we were less than a minutes walk away. The beach was only a five minute walk away although be prepared for a steep climb back up the steps, also some lovely walks in the nearby valley country park which picks up the Cleveland way, my dog had the best time exploring on woodland walks and along the side of Skelton beck. For an alternative beach walk, Marske is only 5 minutes drive again with free parking for upto 4 hours, or you could walk there in about 40 minutes, Redcar is another couple of miles north of Marske with more chance of walking on the beach The host was great at communicating before, during and after our stay, we will definitely be looking at returning next year Negative: Nothing really that we disliked about the property

The flat was lovely, clean and spacious. I was travelling with elder parents with slight mobility issues and we hadn't realised it was two not one flight of stairs up to the flat which made access a bit difficult for them. I also didn't realise that Saltburn was so steep down to the sea front when booking however there was a regular bus service that my parents could jump on to get up and down the hill while I walked up and down the hill. Local amenities were great with some lovely restaurants and bars and there was really easy access on the train or bus to local towns and villages. Overall a really lovely stay despite some of the mobility issues.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in the apartment over Saltburn Folk Festival weekend. The apartment was ideally placed at the centre of Saltburn to explore the shops and cafes, plus a short walk to the beach and our young son loved the miniature railway. The accommodation was clean and well presented as per the pictures. We loved our stay and hope to visit again soon.

Lovely property in a beautiful setting, easy walking distance to everything in town. Property was clean and welp furnished, great value overall.

Artsbank apartment is positioned in the heart of Saltburn. Only a couple of doors down from some lovely bars and restaurants and over the road from Sainsbury’s. Ample free street parking too which is a bonus. 5-10 minutes walk from the beach and more restaurants. The apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived, much bigger than the photos show. We arrived to find that the awful rain and wind had blown the living room window open, allowing rain to be all over the wooden floor, wet curtains and rug. I phoned host and stay and they arranged for the maintenance staff to be there within an hour and a half on New Year’s Eve. The friendly guy came and sorted it for us. Could ask for much more. Really happy with the location and space provided and we would definitely recommend to others.

Great location and renovated building, apartment light and spacious. Its my second time to stay, clean, good beds. Just little disappointed to see no real maintenance mould in the silicone in the showers. Lack of the most basic kitchen utensils, most pans unusable as Teflon scraped off, Two wine glasses etc for four adults, we bought some from Sainsburys across he road. Cafe next door is fab 'The real food company' and also 'Rapps' again a few doors away highly recomend to eat, Great staff

Artsbank Apartment, Saltburn-on-sea is a true gem. The facilities are quality, the space and feel is fabulous. We had a 2 night stay and we were not disappointed. Communication with the hosting company was excellent. Can’t wait to stay again….it’s going to be a regular one for me :-)

Great place very comfortable.

Lovely apartment that is spotless and very comfortable. There were 4 of us and a dog so having the 2 bathrooms was perfect. Good location for visiting Whitby and Saltburn is a lovely little place. We visited the new Milton Street Market opposite for food and drinks which has a great atmosphere and is dog friendly. Useful having the supermarket opposite for supplies too. We really enjoyed our short stay and I would recommend a stay here if you get the opportunity.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the apartment was well below an acceptable standard. On arrival, the floors were dirty, there were hairs in both beds, the washing machine, counters and cupboards were dirty/stained, and glasses and plates had not been cleaned properly. We contacted the hosts and a cleaner came the following day. However, when we returned, many of the issues we had raised still hadn’t been addressed and it seemed only a few surfaces had been wiped down. We never really felt comfortable due to the cleanliness, which was disappointing while we were on holiday. There were also some smaller issues: the clothes hanger was falling apart, no laundry detergent was provided, and it was very loud outside, particularly on weekend evenings. On the positive side, the location is excellent with lots of cafés and amenities nearby. This could be a very nice apartment if the standard of cleaning was significantly improved.

We felt comfortable during our stay. Nice location and clean rooms.

Quality apartment in a good location. Positive: There was a quality feel to this apartment and it was very bright and airy with high ceilings. Plush carpet on entering, a beautiful kitchen which was well equipped, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, and everywhere was very clean. There was a Nespresso machine too, capsules available in Sainsburys over the road. There was also a dishwasher and washing machine, quite useful for longer stays. There was one ensuite bedroom with its own cubicle shower and another double bedroom, with use of a family bathroom complete with shower in bath. The towels provided were very soft and fluffy. The only drawback could be for someone with difficulty with stairs as it was two floors up some quite steep stairs. But that didn’t affect us, so no complaints from us. It is very central within Saltburn, with plenty of on street parking around. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend this place and would return at the drop of a hat if I ever needed accommodation in the area again. Negative: Nothing.

Great place to stay - too much marketing from the owner Positive: - Excellent location on the main beautiful street of Saltburn. It's just 5 minutes walk to the beautiful pier and sea. I'd spend every evening there with a book if I lived there. Saltburn is a beautiful small town, so you're right by everything (restaurants, supermarket, pubs, train station cafes etc.) - Easy on street parking. That might be tricky in the busiest peak days and weeks, but otherwise plenty of space. - Very nice apartment. Two generous bedrooms with a bathroom each, good sized living room and kitchen. Decent enough shower. Beds were fine if not great. - Easy entry and departure. Negative: - I didn't sign up to marketing from the owners but I got it anyway. Even after I explicitly told them to stop, they sent me another one. - No soap/hand wash in the kitchen or bathrooms was frustrating. - The beds were very soft.

A beautiful apartment in the middle of Salt burn by the Sea yet only a few minutes walk away to the beach. It was our second time staying there and we will definitely be back soon.

Superb apartment. Great location with free on-street parking. Could have moved into the apartment- very well presented beautiful furnishings and very well resourced. Linen and towels immaculate and kitchen had everything needed for the stay. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to returning already.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable, spacious, peaceful and was close to nice bars, cafes and restaurants. It was also within walking distance of the clifftop and beach. Saltburn is very authentic, it has beautiful views, friendly locals and isn’t touristy. I loved our stay there.

Artsbank Apartment is as advertised - a modernized flat in a historic building. The location in the heart of Saltburn could not be more convenient to the train station and a supermarket. The kitchen is well appointed for those who are interested in eating in although the amenities (e.g., washing up liquid, napkins, spices, etc.) were a little skimpy. Not a fatal flaw but worth noting nonetheless. Bathrooms were spotless and modern. All in all, this is a terrific place for exploring all the Northeast has to offer.

Positive: The location of the apartment. The helpful people. Honey and especially Finn who came out on a Sunday evening to get the boiler working. Negative: Cold and unwelcoming, a broken window by the bed. Not enough comfy seating for the four guests.

Artsbank was a lovely clean property with allworking facilities you would expect for a short stay. The location is central to the town and street parking was available close by.

What a lovely apartment , right in the center of town. No issues parking , shops nearby and a stones throw from a fantastic beach. You have to have a ride in the funicular . Everywhere was so clean and we just loved the beach. Seaview restaurant was really good as we had a person in the party who was gluten free which was not an issue. Looking out at the sea while having your meal was brilliant. Would definitely stay again.

A perfect week in a very nice apartment. Positive: Artsbank had everything we needed, a comfy bed a well equipped kitchen and a flat screen TV plus all facilities including a washing machine and a dishwasher. It was also in a prime location in the town, with great cafes and bars on the doorstep, we had a lovely stay. Negative: Only the stairs up.

The apartment was as describe, immaculate and very comfortable. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach and shops.

On arrival it was bright, spacious and comfortable enough. Beds were very comfy to sleep in. There were a couple of areas that could have done with a bit more clean. There were also a few other issues which were mentioned to ‘Host and Stay’, and they were fairly prompt at getting back to us. Occasionally there was some noise from youths congregating outside the pizza place in the evening, but they didn’t stay too long. Overall a reasonable stay.

Great apartment in a lovely central location close to all amenities. Saltburn is a lovely town with a beautiful beach and plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Even in July parking outside the apartment wasn’t a problem. We loved it and look forward to returning.

The stay was great. However communication were bad because you used my old email address not my present address. I phoned many times to try and rectify this but the problem continued even with this email

A very comfortable flat in central location in town . Positive: Spacious comfortable flat in a very good location. Negative: Windows needed black out curtains as it was a bright for the summer mornings.

Just not up to scratch Positive: Lots of space & nice bright rooms. Very bright on an early morning in May... Comfortable but could do with an extra tub chair in room. Negative: It was quite dusty in places when we arrived so felt the need to go over work tops and tables etc. May have been due to the constant air vent going like the clappers as it was a very windy Bank Holiday weekend. The first bedroom first window would not seal properly so curtains blowing constantly & when bedroom doors closed on an evening constantly banging because of this. So not a restful sleep as hoped. The bed in the first bedroom also dips in the middle a little & mattress too soft for me. The main bathroom hand towel left for us was wringing wet but folded for use so an oversight there. Found a clean dry one in a cupboard in the kitchen so wasn't a problem. On suite shower door wouldn't close properly so leaked through & mopped up but could do with some attention. I've been overall disappointed with Host & Stay properties the last couple of bookings so not sure I will be booking again. It's the attention to detail that's lacking & not the luxury as advertised. It was OK, but who's looking for OK!!

The apartment is in the perfect location for exploring Saltburn-by-the-Sea. It’s right at the heart of the town centre, with all the shops, bars and restaurants within a very short walk. Everything is furnished to a very high, stylish and comfortable standard. Despite its proximity to the bars etc. we didn’t experience any real noise. Our only slight issue was that the curtains in the bedrooms aren’t lined, so it was very light after sunrise. An eye mask might be useful for the summer months

This is a very ideal location. You have numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants within a few blocks, as well as the beach. I like the apartment, it was clean and comfortable, with a nice view. My only constructive feedback is for Dale to send less automated messages, as they were excessive and made it difficult to find the pertinent information quickly. But I highly recommend his place and would love to stay there again if I'm ever back in Saltburn.

Positive: We stayed at this apartment in 2021. The host warned us about scaffolding and works taking place right outside the main living room. We were offered no discount for this despite having to keep the curtains closed for privacy. This time when we stayed, we couldn't believe there was scaffolding outside the bedroom windows and again we had to keep the curtains closed as men we're working just outside our windows. This time we hadn't been warned about the works taking place. The apartment was nice originally but after staying for a second time we noticed that it is a tired and dirty. The check-in at 4pm is very late especially as we were offered an earlier check-in time of 11am (at an extra charge of £30), so if apartment is ready why make people wait until 4pm. And then you have to vacate at 10am which is not good 'time' value for a 2 day stay.

We love Saltburn so it didn’t take alter our holiday bit it could have been better. Positive: Location, easiness of parking and easy to relax Negative: The bathrooms need an update, mould in the silicone and seals and broken parts. Comfortable seating in the lounge area for 4.

Artsbank -Saltburn The property was perfect, as was the location. Free parking across the road, although Saltburn is quiet mid week in January

The flat is very conveniently located on the same street as several good quality cafes, restaurants and independent shops with other facilities just a few minutes walk away. It is also just a few minutes’ walk to the promenade and the beach. Transport links are good and there are regular trains and buses to nearby towns and beyond. The flat was very clean and comfortable and there are good views of New Marske woods from the lounge. It was my third stay there.

Perfect relaxation and will definitely return Positive: The space, layout and location were perfect. There was everything we needed during our stay. Negative: The only minor grumbles the bed sheets were too short and the duvets a bit thin and not wide enough. There was a significant draft from the extraction fan in the dining /lounge space. The shower in the en-suite fused after each use. None of which spoiled the stay

Artsbank Apartment exceeded our expectations on all accounts, the photographs just didn’t do it justice. You wanted for nothing and the place was immaculate. I would unequivocally recommend Artsbank Apartment to anybody.

Saltburn is a beautiful place, and the Artsbank apartment was really well located for the beach and local shops. Initial impression on entering the apartment was good-looked like the photos, lovely high ceilings and lots of light. I was disappointed with the poor attention to detail. The apartment was described as ‘luxury’, and for the price paid I think that’s a stretch. Previous reviews describe grubby sealant round showers. Still an issue. The shower in the en suite leaked everywhere because the door seal was broken at the bottom. The kitchen was poorly stocked. No oven gloves, limited cookware, few glasses. As lovely as it was to have a coffee machine to use, the only cups suitable for use with it were too large to fit underneath. I don’t think it’s acceptable to spring a surprise breakages deposit on guests and fail to upkeep the property when these things are continuously raised by guests. They’re small things which would make a big difference.

Artsbank was really just as it looked on website. Great location. Furnished well, great kitchen area. Met all our needs. Would stay again without a doubt.

What a lovely apartment a few minutes walk from the beach with small cafes and wine bars on the same road. The apartment itself was lovely. Large bedrooms and lovely living dining kitchen. The view from all of the windows made the walk to the third floor worth it.

Nice 3 nights in Saltburn. Apartment spot on and bang in center of high street. 4 flights of steps to access apartment but warned in advance so we knew what to expect, loads of shops bars and restraurants within minutes walk.

Positive: The location was great. Close to some top places to eat and drink. A short walk to the cliff top and beach..20 minutes drive to Staithes for a visit. Negative: Everything worked for us. Nothing of note on the negative side.

The apartment is lovely and in a great location. It was clean and well decorated. We did however, feel like it was quite expensive. Host and Stay come across as impersonal. There were lots of signs stating rules (4 as soon as you enter). We received multiple messages throughout the stay about reporting damage and reminding us to check out. This made us feel unwelcome. There were items missing, like oven gloves and washing up liquid, this made it challenging to cook in the kitchen. the check in and check out are later and earlier than most and had no flexibility. We are unhappy about paying the £25 for insurance. We have never had to do this on air BnB and on top of an expensive property, this seems excessive and unnecessary. We knew that we would have to pay this upon booking, we struggled to find a property that isn't managed by this company. For us, this isn't what we look for in air BnB and we won't be booking a property managed by this company again.

It’s not made clear when booking with Host & Stay that ‘all reservations need to have a damage waiver in place, or a damage deposit held prior to arrival’. Only after this payment will they send all check-in details. The demand is made a couple of weeks prior to the arrival date. It’s either £25 damage waiver (non refundable), or £250 security deposit (£240 refunded - £10 admin charge). Because of this policy we will never book accommodation which is managed by Host & Stay again.

Nice little home away from home

Artsbank apartment was exactly as described on the website. A contemporary feel to the place and well situated for the cafes/ bistros/bars in the town centre. Issues with cleaning however. Worktops in the kitchen were sticky, mirror in main room and internal windows also. Visibly greasy. Minor issues with maintenance in bathroom. Sealant around bath needs replacing due to blackening over time with use, as does the shower screen bath seal needs removing and cleaning. Just observations that would make this place that little more to the rating it deserves. That said, it didn’t detract too much from a really pleasant stay. We would recommend and would come back without hesitation. P.S. Beds were so comfy!!
