The flat was good value for money and very clean in an excellent location. We found the master bed quite uncomfortable and some of the furniture felt quite unstable but the hosts were responsive to our messages, so hopefully those issues will be sorted for people staying in the future. Overall, we would recommend for the price we paid.

Very nice stay in a great location, Whitby is always a great place to visit. Great value for money Positive: Nice clean apartment with nice touches like tea, milk, sugar, toilet paper, shampoo etc left for our arrival. TV with multi channels , Decent Wi-Fi, Great location Negative: Beds were quite low and maybe needing a new mattress in one room but still okay, need something in place to keep the pigeons away from the entrance as there was a lot of bird droppings there

A great stay in a beautiful town, in a clean and well maintained apartment in a perfect location. Positive: Fantastic location, clean and modern apartment with good facilities. Decor was lovely, plenty of room. Considering we were overlooking the road there was minimal noise (however we were there midweek so not sure if it would be noisy in the evenings at the weekend). Lovely little touches included, such as kitchen essentials and shower gel/shampoo minis - really appreciated. Travel cot was provided which was a great addition (if I was to put anything on my wish list it would be a high chair too, but totally understand that not all provisions can be made for small children. I do think the apartment was family friendly though which was lovely). We thought the apartment was great value for money considering the location, and would definitely stay again. Negative: There were a few things I’ll point out for the purpose of feedback, but none of them would affect my score or our desire to return. 1. The bed in the main bedroom (as other reviewers have said) was so incredibly uncomfortable- I basically didn’t sleep for 2 nights! The mattress kind of weirdly falls down at the sides so unless you’re bang in the middle of the bed, you spend the night trying not to roll off. A new mattress is needed urgently I would say! 2. The stairs to the apartment were a struggle with luggage and a baby plus a buggy… this isn’t a criticism of the property as I knew there were stairs when booking. More of a consideration for potential guests as they were tough - anyone with any mobility issues at all would struggle so worth bearing in mind (however I think the whole of Whitby is the same!) 3. The sofa was pretty rickety - I fear it’s only a matter of time before some poor soul breaks it and gets charged to replace, however I don’t think it would be their fault as it seems to be clinging on a bit! 4. The picture frame with the WiFi details had the wrong information inside - it was for another property (must’ve got mixed up somehow). We managed to log on as we were able to get the correct details from the online guide, but just mentioning as some guests might not have checked there or might be confused. (Incidentally the online guide was great!)

Will definitely not book again, read the reviews carefully! Positive: The location was fantastic. Negative: I felt quite mislead by the property description vs what the property was actually like - in the Q&A the property said they provide a Parking Pass but when we asked the host we were told this isn’t true, so we spent a fair bit of money paying for parking during the week when that was a massive reason why I booked it. There are 2 flights of stairs to the property which aren’t ideal for anyone with mobility issues and my mum struggled with. The flat isn’t very well stocked - being your own toilet roll (1 small roll wasn’t enough for a family of 4 for a week); other than some washing up liquid there were no cleaning products, salt and pepper etc. It wasn’t the cleanest - the tea towel and fridge were both dirty, (don’t look under the bed!!), the front entrance was really gross with loads of pigeon poop but the alley was cleaned halfway through our stay. The description doesn’t make it too clear on excess fees which I will be careful in future to not let catch me out! You can either pay £25 non-refundable fee as a deposit or you can pay over £100 that is returned in 14 working days minus a £10 admin charge. All in all I felt pretty mislead by the property and it explains why it was cheaper than some stays.

lovely flat located in the heart of Whitby! it was located close to a site where we were working for a couple of days so was really convenient. easy to find, close to local bars and restaurants, really quiet area (apart from the seagulls 😉) would definitely book again if im ever over in Whitby for a couple of days again. Flat was really spacious, well presented and clean. The shower was amazing too! great heat and pressure! Cant fault it at all, thanks for having us!

Positive: Fab location, nice little apartment Negative: A lot of steps up to the property, Beds very uncomfortable WiFi wasn't working for the duration of our stay, not overly an issue but travelling with a teen it didn't go down so well, reported to the host didn't really seem to get a resolution

Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the facilities we're very good and we even managed to get parked on the street right outside with my disabled badge.

Great location, not up to scratch in other ways Positive: The location is excellent, the kitchenette is well equipped, the beds are really comfortable and the water temp/pressure in the shower is excellent. There is plenty of hanging space/coat hangers. Negative: First impressions count, and our first were not positive. We had a huge struggle with the key safe, might just have been our incompetence, but there were four of us and we all had a go. Once we were inside there is a strong and unpleasantly foisty smell in the stairwell, the carpet is heavily stained, and there were discarded UHT milk tubs and torn paper on the stairs, presumably from someone's rubbish bag. These were still there when we left two days later, despite our seeing cleaners in both days. The couch in the lounge area creaked and wobbled so alarmingly when my wife sat on it (she's the lightest of us) that none of us dared use it again. The bathroom sink is cracked which is unsanitary, and the sink and the shower drain very slowly, to the extent that when my friends wife who has very long hair had a shower, she had to mop the bathroom floor afterward as it had overflowed. The WiFi is entirely unfit for purpose in a modern property. It drops out at irregular intervals. Sometimes you can't connect, getting a message that this wifi shares a resource with nearby networks and is either oversubscribed or you might need to restart the router, which we couldn't do as we didn't know where it was. The wifi is not powerful enough to support a connection in the main bedroom.

Whitby is amazing, the Abbey was stunning. the locals are very nice. plenty of restaurants treachers fish and chips was the best I have ever had. the accommodation looked just like in the pictures but I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of it. it had not had a proper clean. the bathroom shower and floor was very dirty. I did reach out to host and stay and they did reply promptly with an apology also if I wanted them to send housekeeping over but I declined this because I had already wiped over things we were going to use. the dust was thick and would have gone all over our hanging clothes and clean bedding. lovely apartment and super location 5* but cleanliness 2*

We had a lovely stay in Whitby with friends. Positive: Location good. But the alleyway where apartment was, was covered in pigeon poop. Negative: The apartment was not, how I felt cleaned on arrival. A welcome pack is always a nice gesture. No washing up liquid. No soap. Pigeons were an issue. Nesting outside window and extremely noisy. Also party above us were dreadfully noisy. They tried to get into our apartment at 2am. Very loud and argumentative in early hours.

Appartment 2 whitby Positive: It was very clean and pleasant. The bedrooms where quite big and the apartment was modern . Good location. Negative: The staircase leading up to the apartment was dirty and the carpet on the stairs was disgusting . There was about 4 pigeons that sat on the house roof opposite that woke us up every morning. Also there was a lot of pigeon dropping all over the front door . Won't stay there again unfortunately.

Lovey apartment in the centre of Whitby. Close to all amenities with a public car park close by. The only issue for us was the mattress, but this has been mentioned to the really helpful and responsive Charlie. Really enjoyed our weekend!

Modern & location great Positive: Overall apartment modern & clean, had everything we needed in kitchen. Excellent location close to everything. Negative: Main bed shocking, didn't sleep for 3 nights!! I know this has been mentioned in previous reviews. Also another hand towel would have been nice. Needs coat rack or something for wet coats.

Lovely place. Positive: Loved the location. The flat is very modern, all you need to self cater. Negative: The cleaning was not good, hadn't been hoovered and things left in cupboards from previous holiday makers.

Great apartment in a very central location very close to the harbour. Surrounded by lots of quirky and quaint shops and a stones throw to the harbour. The apartment was perfect and the amenities included was incredible with no expense spared providing bamboo toilet paper. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to friends and family

Okay. Good location. Negative: The overall cleanliness. The blinds and window s were filthy, thick dust on standard lamp, toilet roll holder in bathroom broken, fan did not work in bathroom. WiFi did not work wrong password. Had to use our own data. It’s a shame as it’s a nice apartment just lets it down. Would not book again.

Mostly good but very impersonal check in and admin. Positive: Great location, comfortable flat. Good facilities! Negative: Gaining access, I had to message for check in form and ring when at the property as I had not been sent the key safe code. On our last night there was heavy rain and winds. Water came in to one bedroom window and there was a cold draft coming in. I phoned and reported this but no one came out.

Parking in Whitby is difficult to find a good car park if you can. Cleaning could be better. The flat itself was perfect for our stay. Great shower, we didn’t use the kitchen. WiFi didn’t work but we didn’t need it for much as we were out and about. Good location for walking around.

Lovely place, we stayed for two nights and had a great sleep in really comfy beds. Host was very responsive when we had questions about WiFi. Super walkable location, about 5 mins walk from the pier and main area.

The apartment was well equipped. Clean and in a great location. Positive: Excellent location Negative: They have issues with pigeons. There was bird muck on the front door. The stairs to the apartment would be challenging for somebody not fit. It also smelt badly on the stairs, possibly drains. Carpets on stairs stained.

The apartment is very nice, however, the bed was substandard and the provisions meagre. Positive: No breakfast provided Negative: The bed in the main room is terrible. It is lumpy and slopes to the outside, making it feel like one will slide off. It is also far too low. Considering the price, this was a great disappointment and unacceptable. The bed should be replaced in its entirety. The provisions were meagre. No shower provisions, one roll of toilet paper. The code for the lock box was not provided, which presented difficulty. The phone support person spoke with an accent which made understanding difficult.

Positive: We found the beds and sofas were too low for us, we are elderly so not comfortable. Ideal for younger people. Wish we’d have known. Apart from that, was pleasant enough.

Perfect for a comfortable short stay in Whitby. Positive: A really nice apartment in a quiet but central part of town. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Milk, tea etc all available too. All in all, perfect for a short stay in Whitby. Sherlocks coffee shop a couple of doors down is excellent as is The Vaults bar at the bottom of the street. Negative: The positioning of the TV was a bit strange. I don't watch TV but if you did, you'd have to sit at a very strange angle.

Positive: Really enjoyed our stay here. A lovely apartment with everything that you would need. Only 2 minutes walk from the train station in an ideal spot.

Great location, plenty to do near by. Apartment clean and spacious - everything you need from home to home. Would defo return back.

Whitby is always great and this place has a fantastic location as well as being clean and modern. Positive: Fabulous location with easy access to centre of Whitby. Very clean and with everything you need for the few nights we stayed. Just round the corner from massive Goth shop we’d never found before which was a bonus! Negative: We visited in February which meant the heating was on. Lovely and warm but the boiler is in a bedroom and is noisy. Not great for a light sleeper. The messages about the property came through on my iPhone in an odd format that was hard to read and the language sometimes too hard edged eg the consequences of any damage or leaving late. Probably just me being pedantic and didn’t spoil a great place.

Positive: Location was fab Negative: The apartment wasn’t stocked well, no cloths or basic pot washing products, 1 toilet roll! The deposit of £250 was taken from my card a couple of days before we stayed and took almost 4 weeks to be credited, I had to chase every day and they still charged £10 admin fee to process it back, wouldn’t stay again

Short stay Positive: The rooms were nice and warm with the heating on in the December storms. We liked the location. Modern decor. Negative: Had trouble getting into the apartment incorrect pin code given for the key box. The 1st person was quite unhelpful saying details on the email...even when we said cider wasn't working. 2nd person was much more helpful and realised we had been given an incorrect code and sorted it quickly. On 1st entering the apartment it appeared clean but there was quite a bit of dust on skirting boards.

It’s a nice place in a central location. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the cleaner had not cleaned the coffee table, nor hoovered the carpet in the living area.

More negative than positive. I would not rebook to stay again. Positive: The location. Negative: Cannabis being smoked by occupent above us. There are no parking scratch parking tickets to park off Flowergate. Stairs to the apartment are not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. The shower is not easy to operate. The kitchen lid bin was broken, which meant putting a weighted object on the lid to keep it closed, avoiding smells from rubbish. Only 1 toilet roll. We purchased some more. Drafty window in small bedroom.

Despite probs fine for two days break. short break - Positive: Good location- clean, bright and light (it had been cleaned up since a recent visitor had found it in bad state - we had to open- windows to get rid of smell of bleach!) spacious lounge/ kitchen/ diner. Managed the two flights of stairs no probs but carried up minimum of stuff for two night stay. Negative: Drainage from bathroom sink and shower ( mentioned by previous visitor too) still slow. Would have appreciated use of non-slip mat for shower. And a brighter bedside lamp for reading. WiFi not strong so some additional key info inside rather than relying on the virtual guide book would have been helpful. No parking discs. ( But Cliff Street parking free overnight) None-the- less enjoyed the stay.

A brilliant location to enjoy walks around Whitby. Positive: Almost everything. The location is perfect. Negative: I wasn’t told upfront about the damage cover clause. This seems a dishonest way to raise the actual cost of the stay. Parting with a £250 “bond” may not be possible for everyone. That said, £240 of it was quickly returned to my account a few days after my departure. The alternative is paying a fixed sum, which makes the apartment very expensive. However; I would happily stay here again. My inclusion of this point serves to pre-warn others looking at this property. To reiterate; the location and standard of the apartment outweighed my frustration about the strange damage cover set-up. I have used the bond system before, but you usually get it all back, or the transaction is held as pending.

Excellent apartment, but no parking Positive: the apartment was excellent and in a great location. getting in/out was easy and the instructions were good. It was clean and well stocked. Negative: There is no parking at the property, despite this being heavily suggested by the Booking.com website, so do not go expecting to get parked. The nearest free street parking is at the top of the hill on Upgang Lane, some 10-15 minutes walk away. Also, there is a hidden accidental damage charge that you are not told about until after booking.

Would not recommend Positive: Modern apartment in a very good location Negative: The cleanliness was not up to scratch and the apartment was not clean to a good standard on arrival. This included unclean carpets, cuttlery, cabinets etc. The mattress in the main bedroom was broken and despite raising this issue, it was not resolved meaning we had to sleep on the sofa and floor for 2 nights.

Modern, comfortable, bright apartment in centre of charming Whitby. Positive: We chose the property based on location and facilities, and we were very happy to see that the apartment was perfect. It’s such a central, convenient location, but quiet and comfortable with lovely beds, and a great shower. Flowergate is so well situated with fab cafes, bars and close to restaurants and the seafront. Negative: No issues.

Positive: Area. Close to the town. Negative: The room was not clean. Had to wash cutlery and crockery prior to using it. The coffee table was sticky and not clean.smeary.

Great place, quite close to the train station and the shore. The stair to the apartment was a bit of a struggle because of our big bags but other than that everything was smooth and very comfortable. Great amenities, well equipped house and super comfortable and clean.

When we booked it did mention parking was available but it wasn’t very clear so I message the host and they told me there will be a scratch card in the property with instructions. When we went to use the scratch card there was a parking attendant present and he said this card would only be available for 2 days. As we were staying for 3 nights we would need more parking so I messaged the host again only to be told they do not provide parking so I asked the question why did you leave the scratch card in the apartment. The host said there has been a misunderstanding and they don’t provide parking and their website had not been updated. Very contradictory. Anyway the host said they would sort it and get back to me which they didn’t so this was very frustrating. Anyway we managed to park and pay for the rest of the duration of our stay. I feel you really need your be very clear on the parking situation when staying at the property and then there would be no confusion or misunderstandings.

Good location, Positive: Great location in terms of the town’s facilities. clean comfortable beds, everything there for a short stay. Negative: Tucked down dark alleyway with lots of bird droppings. TV in awkward position, could do with being on a swivel stand.

Positive: It was very easy to collect the keys in a lockbox with a code the host let us into the property early which was a bonus. Negative: Maybe a touch up on the paintwork but otherwise perfect !!!
