Beautiful views, perfect location for the beach Positive: Property right on the seafront with beautiful views. Easy to access with lock box and in a great location. Property was very clean and it was perfect as we could bring the dogs with us. Only thing to consider is the stairs if you aren't great with mobility as there is no lift. Negative: Only things that we felt needed to be provided as standard that weren't are: * 1 extra toilet roll (only 1 provided for 4 people) * Some sort of anti bacterial surface spray (none provided) * Kitchen roll (none provided)

Excellent location and great views from our 2nd floor apartment through the floor to (almost) ceiling windows. Straight out to sea/pier with the cliffs visible. Could watch the early morning swimmers and surfers. Even one of our dogs spent ages looking out the window at the view. On street parking was easy after the Sunday daytime when lots of people around due to fine weather and some hill climb event but most left around teatime so could move car right outside the door. Kitchen good although only cooked one meal. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. Dishwasher and tablets so no washing up :-). Tea and coffee available although we brought and used our own. Would definitely use this apartment again if visit Saltburn.

Beautiful location but needs a little TLC. Positive: Beautiful location overlooking the beach and pier. Large open living-diner space. Easy check in and entry to property. Had most items that you needed for stay. Dog friendly. Negative: Some of the bed linen had marks on it and some pots were dirty. Needs a little TLC - sealant in bathroom, painting over wall stains, broken blind, carpet come off the runners on stairs. Bed springs were knackered so the mattress dips in the middle. £25 insurance is a ridiculous add-on to the cost, especially when some items need fixing in the place anyhow.

The location of the apartment was fantastic for the view as it was opposite the Sea and beach, being on the third floor we had a Birds Eye view. There was some issue with noise due the the proximity of the Marine pub, which I appreciate wasn’t the owners fault. The lounge looked beautiful when we walked in, nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and decorations. The place was roomy and bright and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Just one small detail was the cleaning not up to scratch in a few places. That said, I would stay in the accommodation again, it was a lovely place.

Ideal for short stays and access to Saltburn. Positive: Superb location. Free parking - bonus! Great shower! Exceptionally clean. Modern. Inviting. Xmas decorations and tree were a nice touch. Negative: Unfortunately, mattress uncomfortable 😕 very, very soft and we both kept rolling in towards the middle!

Very comfortable apartment, exactly as described, lovely views. We spent a few days visiting family in the area and it was very clean and just what we needed. Lots going on in Saltburn including the food festival. Great location, we would stay again.

Perfect location Positive: The location was fantastic, property was super clean and had more than enough facilities. The additional ‘insurance cover’ adds extra cost to stay of £25. Negative: There was 2 flights of stairs the our property and on an evening the lights didn’t work so we had to use our torches on our phone while carrying an infant to bed

The whole family loved staying here, would love to come back soon. Positive: Fab location, bright, nicely furnished and very comfortable, amazing views. Enjoyed watching the surfers from my bed every morning. Negative: Only 2 forks but family were staying upstairs with extra so we used theirs.

Beautiful location, nice and comfortable Positive: Very clean and comfortable Negative: 2of us staying as stated in booking and 3 coffee capsules, 4 would have made more sense. The window seals where gone making the view not as nice as it would have been if they’d have been clear. We couldn’t get out of the front door from inside as the Yale lock wasn’t fully coming out, so we had to use the fire exit at the back.

The view was unmatched and the apartment clean and homely. The bed very comfortable and on the whole had everything that we needed. There were a few bits that I would expect to be included in a holiday let such as this one (and stated on the listing) such as hand soap in the bathroom but this was a minor thing - I do however feel that you can tell that this apartment is run by a company rather than an individual. On our second night, the fire alarm went off in one of the other apartments leaving all of us standing outside on the pavement in the rain (us with our 6 month old baby). Several of us tried to contact home stay about this as the box said “general fault” but was told that they would email the owners. We called the fire brigade as we were unable to enter the property and no one at Home Stay could help with the alarm. The fire brigade came and most importantly, everyone was safe and well but I would expect that there is a protocol for this type of emergency. Very concerning.

We loved our stay at this beautiful apartment in a perfect location for everything you need in Saltburn, with amazing views of the sea and pier. Spacious, modern living room and well kitted-out kitchen, comfy bedrooms and a great shower! We had an issue with the boiler on arrival which was sorted immediately by the very helpful and responsive host team. We had our 2.5 year old son with us, and for any parents of young families we would point out that the doors in the flat slam really loudly, so worth taking into account for naps and sleeps. My only issue with Host and Stay is that they charge a £250 damage deposit, which incurs a non-refundable £10 transaction fee, or you can choose to pay a £25 damage waiver. Either way, this appears to double up on the protection offered to hosts via AirBnB, and adds £10 or £25 to the booking price. That said, we would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment in a great location, near the tram lift, with access everything Saltburn has to offer! I was very impressed with the downloadable, information booklet which included everything about Anchor’s Away (the apartment) from check in details to their green initiatives, to their recommendations for restaurants and bars. Very useful! The actual apartment wouldn’t be suitable for those who have difficulty climbing stairs but if this isn’t a problem, the stairs are well worth it! The view overlooking the sea and the cliffs are simply stunning. We watched sunsets in the evening and sunrises in the morning! The apartment is spacious and clean. We will hopefully return in the near future. Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment location and views were incredible. Would visit again! Positive: The location and view from the apartment was unbeatable! Nicely decorated and spacious. Perfect to spend a special birthday long weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Negative: We were only left 1 toilet roll for 5 days, 3x people. On ringing the number to ask for more to be provided, we left a voicemail and had no response. There was also no handsoap in the kitchen, no kitchen hand towel or kitchen roll. One of the apartments had no hand towels at all. It slightly ruined the first impressions of an otherwise ideal apartment. If you think to take these things yourself, you won’t be disappointed by a fantastic stay.

The apartment was lovely, the only problem was it was on the SECOND-FLOOR not the first as stated in your description. If id have known that i woldnt have booked, as have problems with stairs , so maybe alter the desciption on your site. Apart from that , really good.

The view from the flat is simply amazing. I would definitely return again for that alone. The flat had everything you could need and was styled really nicely. Just a couple of niggles, the paint was peeling off the walls in a few places so could do with a touch-up. Secondly when I arrived, the fire alarm unit by the front door was constantly beeping, I messaged the host straight away and Charlie was really responsive in terms of replying back and keeping me updated, which was great. However it did take a good 24 hrs before someone came and reset the system to turn the bleeping off. Wasn’t such an issue for me on the 3rd floor as I couldn’t hear it very well but if I had been nearer the ground floor it would have been a different story. All in all though, it was a great stay and I will be returning.

Beautiful location and a nice apartment for exploring Saltburn. We happened to have noisy neighbours above at the time of staying which is obviously out of Airbnb's and the owners hands. The apartment also wasn't cleaned very well after the last visit, and Host & Stay to be fair, offered to clean the place again which is how it should be handled. Other than these issues, the location and apartment were perfect for exploring Saltburn - the view each morning was amazing. Parking is really easy too and right outside the accommodation

Amazing location and perfect for a couple night's getaway.

We had 3 nights at Anchors Away , the apartment was lovely, easy to find, parking permit provided for on street outside the building and along the main road. Really spacious rooms and a fantastic view straight over the sea. Less than 5 minutes walk from both the beach and the town centre , perfect location Had everything we needed and a really comfy bed in both rooms. Communication from Charlie at Host and Stay was great, from booking to checking out, he responded really quickly. Will definitely stay here again.

Superb location with a magnificent view of the ocean, spacious and comfortable, a extra bonus is a local parking disc for convenience as parking a premium, a great spot!

The property was in a wonderful location over looking the sea. Our stay was great. The only thing was we were only provided with one hand towel between four of us. Which wasn’t enough.

Positive: Obviously the view but nicely decorated to o & very comfortable Negative: Just x1 loo roll, x1 mini soap & x1 wee shower gel ( both lush by the way !) but seemed a bit lacking for a x4 night stay. No coffee pods at all which is odd as there’s a coffee (pod) machine there & finally I think x8 long life milk sachets would be a nice welcome in the fridge so you can have a cuppa after arriving & doing those 40 stairs! These are minor issues - but you did ask (!) & it was very lovely

Fabulous apartment let down by the little things Positive: Stunning views Airy apartment Good size rooms Negative: Lots of little things that detract from a great apartment e.g 1 toilet roll for 4 people, one hand towel and one tea towel for 3 days, no oven gloves, blunt knives (mentioned over and over by previous guests too) etc… I found the constant messaging about breakages, extra costs for extended checkouts etc. not to my liking but could just be me.

Great Weekend Break. Positive: Fantastic location with amazing views out onto beach. Everything within walking distance. The Sun even made an appearance 😀 Negative: The main bed was quite uncomfortable and too soft for my liking. Booking.com states no WIFI. Host left login details which we were unable to connect. Too much to see and do to worry about that. 10am check out seems a little early.

Property was clean, tidy and good locationHowever we were conned out of 75 due to an error with the management company. We left the property on time and put the key in the key safe but were charged 75 because “they couldn’t find the key” We returned home 110miles away and were falsely accused of returning the key at that time! Disgusting customer service, please be careful and hope other don’t suffer such hassle and lies.

Lovely place overlooking the sea. Nice and spacious, easy check in and comfortable beds. Located within a nice clean quiet block with other air bnb’s. Location couldn’t be any better with the sea over the road, free parking outside and a great bakery/town just up the road. A couple of little niggles (dirty crockery and a faulty smoke alarm) but the host was responsive and sorted within the day. Would come again and would recommend.

Fantastic weekend in fab location, apartment was perfectly situated and the views, WOW. only slight niggle and it is being fussy but it's the first time we've stayed in a holiday apartment and there were minimal essentials (toilet roll, kitchen foil, hand soap, rubbish bags etc) and no welcome pack (milk, biscuits, wine etc) That said we'd definitely stay again

Beautiful location. Nice decor. Comfy beds. Great wifi. Nice size. However, the blinds let a lot of light in. We could hear the neighbours through the ceiling. There was mould in the shower and the fridge was filthy.

Excellent apartment in superb location. Positive: The apartment was spacious and airy. Comfortable beds and all-round good quality furniture and fittings. Great sea view. Negative: Many steps. Freezer section in fridge needed defrosting. Knives (bread, paring etc.) so blunt they were almost useless - wouldn’t cut through mushrooms! However, these were minor issues that didn’t distract from the overall enjoyment of the property.

We had a wonderful weekend at Anchors Away. The apartment was ideally situated, great views, clean and well stocked. would 100% recommend.

The only very minor was the apartment door sticking so had to be slammed shut on the way out so not ideal for the other guests when I was popping out for a smoke at night. To sit in the morning, eating breakfast and looking out to sea is idyllic. The apartment was warm and cosy when we wanted to stay in and everything else was in walking distance. Positive: The apartment was clean and modern. Had everything we needed. Negative: The main lock to the building was faulty- we couldn't get out!! Phoned host and stay and maintenance sorted it out within 40 mins. Just think the lock should be changed as I think it's still temperamental.

Terrible customer service, rude staff, shoddy accommodation. Positive: N/A Negative: I am appalled by the substandard quality of the Host and Stay property and the unprofessional customer service I received. It is unacceptable that Host and Stay values its staff time at several hundred pounds per hour, as demonstrated by the outrageous £10 booking fee for a 2-minute task. This equates to an hourly rate of £300! Furthermore, the Host and Stay representative, Charlie, exhibited unprofessional behavior throughout our interaction. His dismissive attitude and rude remarks regarding the exorbitant hourly rate and the property's condition were unacceptable. The property itself was barely adequate and posed several safety hazards, including: * A broken front door lock compromising the security of the entire building. * A shower that floods the bathroom floor, creating a dangerous and slippery environment due to the lack of non-slip mats or safety rails. * Broken and ineffective blinds that fail to block out light. * The presence of mould throughout the flat. * Lack of soundproofing, resulting in excessive noise disturbance. * A damaged plant. * An uncomfortable and potentially unsafe bed. Adding to the inconvenience, Host and Stay's late check-in (4 pm) and early check-out (10 am) further detract from the overall experience. To resolve this issue, I contacted Host and Stay directly and was offered a paltry 10% refund, which they failed to deliver. This lack of follow-through further underscores their unprofessionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction. I urge Host and Stay to address these issues promptly and take appropriate measures to improve the quality of their properties and customer service.

Also receiving reminders about if there are any damages to report straight away. We stay in a lot of cottages and felt it was a little over the top with this- not too sure if they’ve had negative experiences in the past.

Nice, bright, well located flat but room for improvement. Positive: Lovely view and easy access to town and beach. Flat had all facilities that you would need and was nice and bright. Negative: Light on staircase not working so had to use torch on phone. Faulty window pane so condensation spoilt the view. We could hear noise from neighbours upstairs.

We couldn’t control the heating. It seemed permanently on. The thermostat had no batteries and its screen was blank.

Great accommodation with fab views

Disappointing with the stingy attitude from Host and Stay and inflexibility regarding service. Positive: The location was opposite the beach, Unfortunately the windows had condensation in so you could not see clearly out of them. The complaints department responded to our complaints politely and with an apology, part refund. Negative: There was no heating or warm water on arrival. We were not allowed to enter 1 hour earlier and clearly the appartment was not used as the cleaning people would have noticed there was no hot water. The windows were dirty and with condensation which effected the view. They were stingy. For 2 nights stay only 2 dishwashing tablets and 1 roll of toilet paper, we had to buy our own. They charged £60 for cleaning and £30 for service costs. Not worth paying that extra money, especially as the windows and communal area were not clean. We also had to pay £250 deposit which we never have done before. They took £10 admin costs to return it, which took 10 days. They did pick up the phone and were polite but not flexible in sorting things out at all. After complainin we did get 20% refund but it cost time and effort to do so.

Great location but uncomfortable stay Positive: Excellent seafront location with full sea views. Nice layout, very clean. Easy check in and out. Negative: Furniture was more about form than function. Bed and couch were uncomfortable. Bedroom furniture was flimsy and unstable. Paint chipped on wall. Boiler was acting up, so for half of our stay we had neither heating nor hot water. Steep stairs with no lift.

It was a lovely, well finished apartment in a great area right on the waterfront. Unfortunately the trip was marred by a lack of heating or hot water on arrival. We went around 18 hours cold and unable to have a shower from report to resolution. The lady on the phone didn't seem very sympathetic towards our situation but did keep us in the loop after a long wait. When the plumber arrived, he quickly found that the pre-paid meter had not been topped up by the host. I unfortunately can't give the host the benefit of the doubt after seeing multiple other reviews on AirBnb and other sites with the same issue. The property is also for sale, which may be a reason for them not bothering to keep the meter topped up. A simple preventable issue unfortunately happened due to a lack of care.

Damage Deposit over shadowed a wonderful stay! Positive: Spectacular. Loved the proportions, loved the location. High spec, high satisfaction. Negative: Disappointed with maintenance e.g. carpets needed vacuuming, crumbs on breakfast bar seats, lamp shades broken. Three weeks holding an unexpected and significant Damage Deposit payment tarnished our experience.

We loved our recent stay at Anchors Away and the flat was everything we wanted and more, we felt so at home there. Loved being able to see the sea and chill out! Shower was gorgeous and the dishwasher a bonus! Would stay again!

Beautiful apartment on a fantastic location. However we were only there for two nights and when we arrived back on the second day the heating wasn’t working and no hot water. We telephoned and after holding on for Several minutes was told someone would come to fix it. Didn’t give me Much confidence because he couldn’t give me a name of the person that was coming. Four hours later still no One had arrived. Called again and they asked if we wanted to cancel because would be another two hours probably before anyone got there. We cancelled the call and went to bed because it was a cold November night and the only place we could get warm was bed. We got up the next morning and couldn’t get a shower because no Hot water and we left by 9am. I put in a complaint for a partial refund and still not had a reply🤬 I prefer the personal touch and will not book an Airbnb hosted by Host and Stay again.

Just a few niggles; the shower trap was blocked which you’d think the cleaner would have noticed as the shower tray filled up straight away. Host and Stay did get back to us about this and sent someone after we had left… (we could use the shower just had to leave the trap out) The view from the front is magnificent but unfortunately the blinds can not be raised which was a pity. Beware the corners of the bed in the small room, they are quite sharp and give a good bruise if you bump into them.

The property is lovely overlooking the sea. Comfortable and with everything you need. I do feel that host and stay properties are more like a business ‘inside’ airbnb (I like the personal feel of renting from individuals rather than businesses) and objected to the £25 bond we had to pay. That said, it was a lovely apartment and I’d stay again.

A very comfortable apartment in a great location Positive: The location is excellent, on the upper prom in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. There's plenty of free parking right outside, currently available for parking on both sides of the road. Across the road is the funicular tramway, or take around 170 steps down to the beach and pier. There are two nice restaurants down there and cafes, crazy golf and amusements. From the front windows you are looking out at the beach, pier and sea, and can see all the way to Redcar along the beach. It's only a very short walk from the centre of Saltburn and the railway station where there is a great range of restaurants, pubs, cafes, bars boutique shops, and a Sainsbury's to visit. There are plenty of takeaways too if that is your thing. The kitchen area is very well equipped, although the fridge is small with an ice box rather than a proper freezer. The beds are very comfortable when you are in, but take care walking around them as the toe-destroying base sticks out at the corners! There's no bath but the shower is excellent. There's a good amount of storage in the bedrooms and the kitchen has lots of cupboards too. There are lots of TV catch-up services for when it rains! Negative: There are 53 steps from the street to the Anchors Away apartment. The heating was turned up to the max when we arrived, which is not only hugely wasteful, but was very uncomfortable to arrive to after carrying the luggage up all the steps. Six of the eight double glazing panels in the living room had internal condensation, so the fabulous view was somewhat wasted.

Positive: Great location, decent amenities, comfy bedrooms and good bathroom Negative: Small details in terms of cleanliness, lipstick on glasses and dirty teacups. Windows could do with a clean too to take advantage of the superb view.

This apartment is located on the seafront with spectacular views of the beach and pier, with everything within walking distance. The apartment was clean with modern, minimalist furnishings. We appreciated the supply of milk sachets and tea and coffee when we arrived. We had to climb up several flights of stairs to reach our apartment on the second floor, so this wouldn't suit someone who has difficulty with walking. The only faults were the rug in the living room was hairy and in need of a good clean and that there was an additional £60 cleaning fee and £10 non-refundable fee for breakages added onto the price, which was not obvious from the description on the website when we booked. That said, I would be happy to stay here again.
