Lovely stay! The only issue I would say is that the extractor fan wouldnt turn off and was quite loud at night. Otherwise, really communicative host, accurate description, fab location and great value.

Good value for money Positive: Amazing location, and kept up to date with arrival details. Negative: Just a few niggles, could do with updating with new blinds and the window handle was broke, but was really good value for money for what we got.

Disappointing Positive: Location to Town centre Negative: No towels provided on arrival disappointed after a 6 hr journey. Reported ‘ promised towels by following morning …arrived back for our second evening to still find no towels. Made contact again …was told to go and buy towels…. This is absolute basics and should have been resolved immediately. Towels did arrive sometime during our second evening …damp from a bottle of chilled Prosecco …too little …too late . Spoilt what could have been a lovely break . Did shower however but used the tea towel to dry two adults!

Negative: Hello you have asked me to leave a review on our stay at silver street Whitby apartment 29B. 12/07/2025 We were very disappointed with our apartment as it was filthy down to the towels left with make up stains on and other stains looked like they haven’t been washed they were stuffed in the storage box in living room. As soon as you ran water the boiler was banging very loud continuously as if it was about to break down,cracked walls shelved ripped of the walls leaving holes in them. Needs a good re lick of paint all round not a nice stay as we were here for my husbands birthday i was annoyed. Also have rang host and stay to complain however said someone will get back to me within 10 working days and had no response absolutely disgraceful. Would not recommend to anyone!

Really enjoyed it, Whitby is a lovely place. Positive: Clean, warm and comfortable, good location. Had everything we needed. Great view of the Abbey from the kitchen window, hence the name. Negative: Needs a hand rail to go up/ down the stairs especially if your holding a dog on a lead who potentially wants to run down the stairs , slight damp smell in the bedroom.

Positive: Central to where we needed to be Negative: The toilet made a funny noise when flushed that went on for about 10 minutes

Dog friendly in whitby Positive: Location was good, it's a large apartment and it's dog friendly Negative: Noise people passing by outside could be heard talking. It's an old style street house with steep stairs.

Interesting. Whitby museum a great asset to the town. Glad i made the 300 mile drive. Positive: Good location. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Fine washing machine. On demand hot water. Negative: Only one tea towel for 5 days. There were no plastic bin bag replacements. No cleaning agent eg Flash. . Hand basin in shower room ridiculously too small and no mirror above! That is madness! Lounge window blind had a missing slat. The fitted sheet on the bed was too small for the mattress. Strong bones but property clearly unloved and run on a noticeable shoe string. Very Sad.

Positive: Central, clean, nice view of Abbey

Our rank stay at whitby Positive: The location was brilliant Negative: The place was filthy. The mattress was disgusting and the springs were worn. It was covered in stains. The bed was made up with sweat stained bedding that was covered in mold and other stains. The headboard which you will see in the photos was not clean at all. The carpets were rank. The toilet was mouldy. The pans in the kitchen were dirty. Although we reported it to the staff who were helpful in sending a cleaner it was a cusory clean that didn't take away the fact that the mattress needs to go to the tip and the rest of the place needs a thorough decontamination. We stayed 3 nights out of the 5 booked as we became unwell but hardly surprising. The photos on booking.com are of somewhere else as the layout of the place is totally different. Not impressed at all.

thank you for a great experience we liked the place a lot. Positive: Very close to the centre, nicely decorated, very clean, decently priced and lovely hosts very professional. We very much enjoyed staying here and we would definitely return. Negative: had no negatives apart from outside and neighbour’s noise creeping in but it wasn’t bad at all.

Compact clean apartment very close to the centre of Whitby. Positive: I liked the closeness to the centre of town.It was easy to find too.The property was compact but big enough for us and the dog.The bed was comfy too. Also,the view from the kitchen window, wow! Negative: The shower didn’t drain very well and there was no bath mat. Luckily, I’d brought a towel with us so we just used that. It wasn’t an issue, this is the only slight negative we have.We are planning on coming back to Whitby next year and we’ll definitely stay here, it was ideal for us.

One Night Stay Positive: The location was good. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Bed was comfortable. Negative: We found it very difficult to find the road, went round in circles a few times before squeezing our car up past the bollards to get to the car park. Our satnav probably didn't help in this respect.

SHOCKING! Do not use under any circumstances! Positive: Nothing, the experience we had overshadowed ANY plus points! Negative: The WC and shower was blocked on arrival! This flooded the bathroom and the hallway with dirty WC water! We were left to clean the mess up with no help and had unusable bathroom facilities for our stay! Ive complained and have been offered a 15% discount on a future stay - absolutely ridiculous and now they are not responding to any further emails! A full refund is the only course of action!

We couldn’t stay due to not having been cleared Positive: Nothing Negative: It hadn’t been cleaned since the previous guests. Unmade bed, dirty towels on the bed, dirty glasses, bins not emptied, bathroom not cleaned, floor not hoovered.

Positive: Abbey view was lovely having all amenities. Just by the elsinore off flowergate. Was clean and very comfortable. Kitchen had everything you would need including tea and coffee, washer, microwave and fridge. Decor is pleasant and clean. We parked in silver street car park which is near to the apartment. Clean towels and shower gel was there. Can't fault it. Had stairs but only one full flight, then five more steps to the apartment. Check in and out was easy as the key safe is just by the door, they were texted on the morning of the stay.

Nice little apartment up a narrow street in a great central location in Whitby.The property was clean & tidy but there was food left in the fridge from a previous occupant. I reported this to the manager to ensure that the cleaning team would check in future. The manager apologised.Host & Stay management stayed in touch during our stay and I’m sure that if we had a problem they would be happy to help.The apartment is fairly well represented by the photos and descriptions, with a lovely view of the Abbey and within short walking distance of pubs, attractions, cafes and a car park just at the top of the street.The blinds don’t block out any sunlight so if you’re visiting in the summer months I would suggest you use a sleep mask if you don’t want to be awake at 5am.Good value for a last minute short break

Great location Positive: Good location to the busy streets of Whitby Town.. Clean beds linen and extra duvet..Everything you need for short stay.. Fresh towels.Dog friendly.. Negative: Couple of little pointers.. Only blinds at windows, so not totally blacked out . Extractor fan stayed on all night, maybe us as couldn't fine switch to turn it off.. Lamp in bedroom didn't work. Shelf under mirror in bedroom not safe as put phone onto charge and shelf came away from the wall, but if owner hadn't been told then they would not know the fixing were loose..

My stay Positive: Lovely place had everything you needed for your stay.

The apartment was very good. Hosts were excellent they kept in touch and answered any questions I had straight away. Location very handy for west cliff and not to far from the harbour.

Positive: Very nice apartment in an excellent location. Negative: I could not get the lamps in the apartment to work. The landlord agreed to get these seen to straight away but I agreed he could attend to it after my stay. It was not really a big issue, it would have made the place a bit more cosy in the evening.

Quite a poor experience overall, probably ok for one night. Positive: The location is good Negative: There wasn’t enough toilet paper which is poor as it’s a basic need, the shower needs a good clean as it looks borderline to blocked (probably hair in the plug) and the place wasn’t cleaned to a high level. Also, there was no milk at all for a coffee or tea and there was only one sweetener and one sugar available.

Positive: Lovely lay out and very cosy, great communication throughout. Negative: Unfortunately it didn't look like it had been cleaned properly from previous guests. Dirty glasses and the shower hadn't been cleaned soap suds and water in the shower tray so I had to clean this myself before having a shower. Otherwise it was ok but I properly wouldn't stay again.

excellent place in a lovely village

Couldn’t get the lock box opened and were stuck there for some time. Calling the provided number gives you some generic call line for Host and Stay. When we arrived we found the TV remote so well used that there was no icons on it, TV wouldn’t turn on, dusty blinds, lamp in living room wouldn’t turn on, no hand soap in the bathroom. We decided it would be best to not stay in the room for the night and made the hours drive home instead.

Very disappointed after a 5+ hour journey. Late, cold and drove through snow to arrive at the apartment which hadn’t even been cleaned, left a mess. Owner didn’t contact me to tell the cleaner couldn’t get in. Arrived late evening Host&Stay very apologetic found me another apartment near to where I should have been staying. Pictures of this property didn’t look like the apartment although was left a mess but looked smaller and run down. Not too bad for price but glad I was moved from it.

Perfect location, right in the heart of Whitby. Was exactly as described and perfect for our trip.

A nice place to stay in the centre of Whitby with easy walking distance to all the attractions.

If the apartment had been cleaned when we checked in and at the very least clean towels, loo roll and fresh bedding, it would have been an okay stay. Trying to get someone to remedy this for a 1 night stay was beyond stressful as had no way of contacting the owner directly and Host and Stay only had their email address. So trying to get this sorted was beyond frustrating and we were left with no choice but to stay in an uncleaned apartment with very stained and dirty sheets that couldn’t be slept on, all the towels were damp and dirty and the place was grubby throughout. No loo roll, or spares, nothing. Really stressful trying to get this sorted and totally spoilt our evening, not to mention having to sleep on a bare mattress and with no morning shower! For the price paid, get the basic stuff right please and don’t ignore customers or your management company when things haven’t gone to plan.

Great location, easy to find and a car park 1 street away. Nice size for 2 people maybe a bit small for 4. Abbey view was what attracted me and it didn’t disappoint. Little bit of noise at night in the street from the pubs but when the windows were shut you didn’t hear anything. Only regret was not asking for the heating to be turned on. Would I stay there again YES definitely.

Perfect apartment for our one night stopover on way to the North. Very clean and tidy, great view of the Abbey from the kitchen, which was very well equipped. Fabulous location close to the harbour and all amenities. Not possible to park outside though but plenty of car parks nearby. A little tricky unloading, particularly if you meet a car coming the other way, it is a very narrow lane! We enjoyed our stay though and would recommend it.

This place is small but has what you need. The bathroom is very small. There is a lovely view of the abbey from the kitchen. I wouldn’t want to stay more than a couple of nights as it’s very cramped. There are three flights of stairs to the door which are quite steep. Careful if using the toaster - it sets off the fire alarm where it is positioned. We only had a hand towel for washing - I contacted the host to ask for bath towels but I guess as we were only there two nights, it wasn’t very important.

The perfect little place for our holiday. Right location the property was a lovely size for what we needed and had every Positive: It was very close to the town it was a lovely place to stay. Everything worked lovely in the property. I liked the folder with all details of what to do around Whitby. Negative: I struggle to open the windows.

Glad we were there for only 2 nights would not recommend Positive: The view of the Abbey through the back window Negative: Noisy location being close to pub and people passing by it felt they were in the room with you. Fridge and Wi Fi didn't work, toilet macerator very noisy, didn't empty shower quickly enough risk of flooding also when it was operating the bed side table lamp and living room table lamp would flash on and off suggest electrical fault also the socket in the living room is faulty, stair access doesn't comply with building regulations they should have a continuous handrail up them very dangerous, documentation gas,electic and others need updating, the general condition of the property holes in the walls, holes around the windows need filling in and then the whole property needs repainting as the walls and gloss work are very grubby

I do not recommend Positive: Nothing Negative: We arrived at 5 pm, entered , was not cleared, the bedsheets weren’t changed, toilet dirty, I called , till 7 pm they didn’t sort anything, so we had to book another place to stay. Disgusting

Needs a lot more care and attention to cleanliness and health and safety. Positive: The location was great, a few minutes walk down to the harbour and town. Negative: The flat was up 2 flights of dark, damp smelling stairs with no hand rails. There were 3 bags of used bedding and towels on the stairwell which never got moved the whole time we were there. The flat was not cleaned properly on arrival, still rubbish in the bin, toothpaste in the sink and on the toilet cistern. Also old toothpaste residue in the bottom of the glass toothbrush holder. We were left with about 5 squares of toilet roll, luckily I had taken my own anyway so didn't have to buy any immediately. We found dirty cutlery inside the oven and on the 2nd night had water leaking through the kitchen ceiling all over the floor from the flat above. There were already water stains on the ceiling so this has happened before. There was a dirty tea towel drying on the radiator in the kitchen which I'm presuming was used by the previous visitor. Also the internet provided was saying password was incorrect when trying to connect.

OK for a short stay but not for us. Positive: Location Negative: Stairs without a rail. Lack of WIFI. TV Issue not resolved.

Entrance staircase dirty. Area scruffy. No dustpan/brush. No wifi instructions.

Nice enough place, water pressure isn't great (not a lot the owner can do about that though), switch for the extractor fan is high up on the bedroom wall & isn't labelled as such. We'd stay again.
