Proche à la route principal mais dans un zone privé. Les voisins très aimable et accueillant. Un petit endroit tranquille ... proche à la poste de police et au centre de loisirs, il y a un chemin qui mène tout le long de la rivière à côté jusqu'au centre-ville. Toute la ville est accueillante aux les chiens.

Lovely location Positive: We liked the location, it was quiet and very pretty the facilities were good and it was comfortable. It was pet friendly which is a bonus. The neighbour was lovely and very friendly. Close to great places to visit. Would recommend providing the owners gave it a bit of TLC 😁 Negative: The house is very tired looking , it needs some TLC . A coat of paint all through and the carpets could do with a good clean. Nothing that would take too much effort or cost too much. .

Good dog friendly stop Positive: The location is great and it felt safe. It was roomy enough and though due to a last minute change of plan we didn’t take our dog, it was certainly dog friendly. Negative: Not the cleanest but it wasn’t too bad. The boiler kept blowing out but it was easily relit

Great little place next to a river with dedicated parking space. Green space and small park on road, and close to shops. Dale was very helpful letting us have a last minute late checkout when we woke up to 8 inches of snow on the day of checkout (not easy with a dog, toddler and pregnant lady to wrangle!). Thank you! Would definitely stay again when visiting.

Comfortable stay close to Holmfirth centre. Positive: Convenient location a short walk from the centre of Holmfirth. Negative: No back door to let the dog out. Patio table broken.

Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay here. Positive: It was well equipped. The location was excellent. Negative: On arrival we were met with an unpleasant smell in the lounge. We opened the windows and this helped. It was as if the carpets had been cleaned but hadn’t dried out. It smelt of wet dog but we did get used to it.

Positive: Lovely setting right by the river. Private parking space Comfortable Very quiet at night Negative: Access to the garden from the front door only, not very private. Dog had to be on a lead until you are through the gate, dog could also escape through the gap near the gate (she is quite small). More of an inconvenience than anything else. It's a good outdoor space by the river.

Had a 4 night stay, bed very comfortable and ideally situated for town of Holmfirth. Nice touch with the welcome pack milk tea coffee etc and toiletries provided. Only 1 allocated parking space away from the property, no driveway as listed. Gaining access to the property was easy but there is a musty smell, which I note has been mentioned in previous reviews. Although kitchen surfaces were clean there were food crumbs on the chairs and more cups and cutlery would be nice, 4 of each not really enough with 4 adults staying. Generally the property could do with a really good clean, and some cushions for the outside furniture would have been nice. outside area needed sweeping. we reported an issue with the shower and although we received a prompt response nothing was done about it during our stay. overall the property is in a good location although residential it is very quiet but I think note needs to be taken of the reviews left and some TLC and repairs done to the house.

Truly appalling! The cottage was listed as having a private driveway for 2 cars and on street parking for another 2. The only parking was an allocated parking space for number 57 on the street. There was no driveway at all. The interior was infested with ladybirds. We arrived at 7.15pm so it was dark and we couldn't see the outside of the property. There were clusters of ladybirds in the corners of the living room, hall and our bedroom. They were also all over the curtains. When I tried to open the bedroom window before I went to bed, there were literally hundreds of them which came raining in the window. I spent about 40 mins trying to scoop them off the window sill, floor and curtains into a mug. I emptied 4 mugs down the sink. The following morning, we could see loads of them on the outside wall. I couldn't open the window for the duration of our stay. Our bedroom door did not close and there was a very grubby, dirty office chair, covered in someone's hair, left in front of the wardrobe door in our bedroom. The following morning my friends told me that when they had gone to bed in the other bedroom, there were hairs on the sheet and a rip in the duvet cover. There was no light shade in that bedroom, only a bare bulb. There were cobwebs everywhere in every room, including above our bed and in the bathroom. The moulded skirting boards were covered in dust. The kitchen was poorly equipped for 4 people. I raised a complaint the morning after I arrived and was advised that someone would be in to remedy things. We were out for the day and when we returned, the cottage was in exactly the same state as we left it. Host and Stay have tried to insist that someone was in but if anyone did go in, they did absolutely nothing. I have been offered a refund of £60 which is apparently the cleaning fee!! I have not yet discovered what cleaning was involved. They also advised me that the ladybird issue had apparently been ongoing for some time but that housekeeping had not reported it to them. I would never, ever stay in another property managed by Host and Stay. In view of the increased cleanliness standards required as a result of covid, the standard here was way below even a very basic standard.

Positive: Went for a Family Memebers 30th birthday in Holmfirth. Nice and Quiet Cul De Sac. Comfortable beds, nice small river views. fairly easy to get to via sat nav Negative: I would not say this was a dislike, but there was some dust on some of the lampshades and also on top of some of the doorframes. My sister who is a cleaner by trade pointed this out..... I would not have noticed if not shown this. Slightly further out from the centre than I thought, but again not really a dislike.

Good time with my family Negative: I stayed in the property in July with different friends so thought it would be nice to stay in October with my mum and sisters. The complaint that I have was the toilet seat in the downstairs toilet was broken in July and it was still broken during our stay in October .

Good thermostatic shower setup, but no safety handle for older citizens.

Horrible. Positive: The property is situated in a housing estate, because of the good weather there was noise until late. Negative: It was tired, dirty with stained rugs and carpets. With bare bulbs hanging from the ceiling in one room. Cobwebs everywhere. Peeling paint. We were told there was parking for two cars on the drive. There is no drive. Just one allocated space 50 metres away. The outside seating area was grubby and unusable because of stinking rubbish bins. You couldn’t open the kitchen window because of the smell from outside. The inside stank of stale cigarettes. We would have found somewhere else had our son and 2 year old grandson not been on their way to join us for a family wedding

The property is well presented and a very short drive into the peak district for some lovely walks, which is why we chose it. It is in a fairly lively housing estate so definitely isnt completely private but the neighboirs seem friendly and a lady next door even popped out to recommend a walking route and the best way to get to the closest shops (very close 2 min drive or 5-10 min walk to aldi). The location is fab for a close commute to so great walks and points of interest, I highly recommended driving 20 minutes down to the Middle Black Clough Waterfall in Glossop if you fancy hiking up a waterfall! The property is managed by a company who kept in touch regularly before and throughout our stay to ensure we had all relevant info, only negative I could really mention is the tricky lock on the front door as has been previously mentioned in other reviews.. it is very hard to lock and unlock the door but luckily we had a friend who had a knack for it so it wasn't too much trouble for us.

Made the most of our stay despite the problems listed Positive: Location was good Negative: Booking system wasn't good. The house smelt fusty on entry to the property. There was a lot of post dated in November so clearly hadn't been aired before we arrived. Ladybirds flying around the lights & on curtains. On opening the front windows, lounge & bedroom, found the ladybirds nesting in the window frame. About 30 fell out onto the sill. Disappointed no Christmas decorations as we've had previously from private owners. Door mat was wet through underneath

Excellent accommodation in a great location and a very relaxing stay. Positive: The property is in a really great location and a 15 to 20 minutes walk into Holmfirth centre we were here for the Food and Drink festival which was really good. The stay here was comfortable and we were able to relax. The area is close to Lidl and the Coop to stock up on food and essentials. The property is very close to the river and some lovely views. We would be happy to stay here again. Negative: The only thing that was a little confusing was the style of houses - back to back and we did find it a little difficult to find number 57 initially but we were assisted by some very helpful neighbours.

Pleasant but with a few touches could be much better Positive: The property is very pleasant overall and very central. it was suitable for a couple of nights but not sure it would be good for any longer periods. the best thing about it was how central it was, whilst being in a very quiet area. Walking distance to everywhere and a lovely setting overall. Negative: We found the house a little impersonal. Picture hooks around the walls but no pictures, light fitting in one bedroom was missing, one of the bedroom doors didn’t close (not ideal when used by couples), one of the bedrooms had no wardrobe whatsoever. The kitchen was equipped but only with 4 or 5 of each item, which meant the dishwasher was quite pointless as we needed to wash everything after each use.

Positive: Absolute shambles. Accommodation hadn't been cleaned and we couldn't use it. Negative: Everything the people we rang to complain were absolutely useless !@

Home from home, ideal location for walking into Holmfirth centre, around 13 minutes. It rained a lot while we were there so couldn’t make the most of the surroundings but in the warmer weather the river at the rear will be beautiful! Will definitely return

Positive: The views from the windows were lovely and the location was good. The house was clean and quiet and it was comfortable enough once we had got over the initial obstacles we experienced. Negative: 1) It was almost impossible to find the house when we arrived late in the dark and rain, because there were no instructions as to where the house itself was located on the estate and also we had difficulty in finding the entrance in the dark. There was no outside light to help us key in the code to the key safe, The member of staff whom we contacted eventually had to give us directions via the phone until we reached the house. There need to be precise directions on the website so that the property - and the relevant parking space - can easily be found. 2) When we were finally able to enter the property, the house felt very cold, even though the heating appeared to be on at the main control panel. It was only when we noticed that the numbers were faded on the thermostat in the living room, that we realised that the thermostat was on a very low setting, and we were then able to trigger the heating. 3) The space around the table in the kitchen was very small and there was not enough room for four people to sit comfortably around it. 4) There was an infestation of ladybirds in certain parts of the house, which we subsequently also saw mentioned in previous reviews., and we were unable to open the windows at all because they would come in in great numbers. Nothing had been done about this, although when I looked online I was able to find a way of deterring the ladybirds from entering through the windows. This involved placing pieces of lemon along the windowsill, as ladybirds do not apparently like strong smells. As you can imagine, this was not a good start to our stay

Terrible Positive: The location wasn’t bad. Negative: The whole place is falling apart. There was no water coming out of the hot tap on bath/shower. Ladybird infestation inside and mould on windows and around bath. Left a day early and made a complaint.

Property unloved in need of TLC Positive: The property was easy to find and was in a pleasant location. The bed was very comfortable. Negative: The property was looking very tired. Sad to see that problems raised by reviewers last year have still not been rectified. Frayed carpet, missing light shades in bedroom and lounge, one bedside lamp for two double beds, no hair dryer, cob webs, mould around windows and inside fridge, damaged radiators, curtain hold backs not secure, damaged skirting board in lounge area, ladybirds fell onto windowsill when window opened and outside area uninviting. Also the shower controls were quite stiff and the temperature range was too narrow and far too hot to use. No rubber bath mat despite it being quite slippy.

Overall good value for a nice location on a bank holiday. Positive: Location was very good for what we needed. Negative: No window in the bathroom. Boiler cut out on the last evening so no shower.

OK but could be so much better Positive: Good location. Friendly neighbours. Negative: Rather shabby, needs some TLC. Bare light bulb in 2nd bedroom, other 3 light fittings only had 1 working bulb in each. 4 people staying only 2 sets of towels supplied. No hair dryer which was supposed to be supplied.

We actually loved house and location was perfect and would stay again.The house just needs full clean and tiny bits like Positive: The location was lovely and by the river. It was close to amenities but set away from the road so quiet with well kept communal gardens with its own private outdoor patio space . Negative: We liked the property but it is need of a little bit of updating for example: The bath needs re ceiling as old sealant is coming away around the bath and needs re doing so it looks clean and also will protect any water dripping into loose gaps. The taps may need checking as they drip and bit stiff so needed double checking they were fully off. This was in bathroom upstairs and downstairs toilet and kitchen taps But should be easy for host to fix. The kitchen pots and utensils needed washing This maybe due to tiny oversight by cleaner’s and again easy for host to resolve. The house could do with a deep clean The tooth brush holder was in need of really good clean The skirting in toilets and in rooms need deep clean and the Blankets in front room needed freshen up wash. There were lightbulbs that need to be replaced in hallway and front room and the outside light was Not working. The second bedroom could do with a wardrobe and a full length mirror. The outside patio needs sweeping as it had some animal droppings on it and would look nicer if cleaned.

LOCATION Great place - situ perfect for walks & into town - reco 100%

Positive: Nice and clean. Was lovely to have some fresh milk and some tea and coffee on arrival. Very lovely location next to a river. Negative: Outside area was a bit disappointing. No cushions for the chairs and everything was covered in cobwebs. Such a lovely location but the decking area wasn't very inviting

Situated ideally for walking into Holmfirth or by the river. Quiet residential area, but close enough to walk to the supermarket if needed. Property clean and clear instructions for check in and use of the property. Very pleasant week.

Lovely cosy property in a pleasant neighbourhood. Friendly neighbours. Calm and comfortable. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well equipped with good quality essentials. Great location near to a local police station, park and recreation area, a pleasant 10 minute walk into nearby Holmfirth. Nice personal touch with the hand towels and toiletries provided in the bathroom and the individual sachets of tea/coffee/sugar, etc. in the kitchen, plus the bonus of a pint of milk in the fridge when I arrived. It was a lovely reminder of my childhood in the 70s with the neighbourhood children playing happily out in the communal green space, not a mobile phone in sight! The neighbourhood had a really pleasant and friendly vibe.

Great Locstion buy cottage could do with some TLC and freshening up. Positive: Location was excellent, nice walk along riverbank into Holmfirth. Quiet location. Negative: Tv didn't work, wasn't tuned in and unable to tune the TV, rang up but wasn't much help. Radiators had paint peeling off and most radiators were rusting. Not very clean, rug was dirty, skirting boards, doors and ceiling lights thick with dust. Ceilings dust with cobwebs and spiders. Crockery and cutlery poorly stocked. Only 4 of each, which meant having to constantly washing up in order to have plates and cutlery.

Had a really good few days here. The place was clean, tidy and homely. Had everything we needed for our time here.

Functional place to stay that's walking distance to Holmfirth Positive: The location was great being a 10 minute walk through a park to the centre of Holmfirth. It's a regular house so less of a holiday location and more of a functional place with neighbours hanging their washing out outside the front door etc. Not a problem but may be interesting to other people. Negative: When comparing prices with other similar properties be aware that a security deposit is added on to the charge and you will not be sent the code to the lock box until you've paid the deposit. You can either pay £25 or you can pay a £250 deposit that is returned less a £10 "admin" charge. It's not a huge amount of money but I was annoyed that this wasn't stated more clearly in the property description or even included in the price.

A great stay of nice we had done a clean up , this property just needs a bit of tlc Positive: Beautiful location , good size rooms , kitchen v well equipped , Negative: The house is in need of a good deep clean , Altho it wasn’t “dirty”cobwebs and dust everywhere , hadn’t been hoovered hundreds of ladybirds everywhere when heating came on , outside lights front and back not working , sofa very worn and carpet stained no bedside lamps in one room

A lovely house in a perfect location. Positive: Well furnished and decorated with everything we needed. Perfect location by the river. Negative: The designated parking space is quite a way from the front door which made unloading/loading difficult.

Nice place Positive: Great location and very nice property, within easy reach of Holmfirth. Well equipped kitchen with tea, coffee etc and dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid etc. Negative: No hair dryer an the bathroom mirror was way too high for most people. I didn't particularly like the agents who managed the property from a customer service point of view.

Ok Positive: It was a nice property, on the whole clean Negative: Location was misleading, the key was in the door not the door safe, the hinges on the door have dropped making it hard to lock up. Not a nice smell in the front room and marks on the carpet

A property in a good location for Holmfirth and surrounding area for a short stay. Positive: Breakfast not applicable. Location ok Negative: The outside area at the side and back of the property could do with a good clean eg sweeping up of tree debris and the slabs power washed. The rug on the floor in the lounge was quite dirty and stained.

Very nice clean house in a quiet neighbourhood. 15 min walk to town centre and shops within 5mins. All amenities as advertised. The only downside was the communication with Host and Stay, the property managers. We had repeated messages about the verification process for two weeks prior to our stay even though we had completed it. It was unclear whether it had been resolved right up to the check in day. Multiple people responded to our messages but didn’t seem to be up to date on the issue at each stage requiring us to explain again and again what the issue was.

Fantastic short break, would definitely book again. Positive: Excellent facilities, including internet and washing machine/dishwasher that weren’t mentioned on the advert so a nice surprise and the place was spotless. Good location for town and friendly neighbours. Negative: Just one minor thing, could do with a rubber bath mat for the upstairs shower as it was a bit slippery.

Nice comfortable stay. Positive: Great location, just out of the town centre, quiet, which was what we wanted, but an easy 15 minute walk into the town. Clean, comfortable, nice views, parking available, well equipped kitchen with washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea/coffee/milk, ice cubes in freezer, toaster, kettle, cutlery/crockery/cooking implements. Negative: TV wasn't as straightforward as it said on the instructions on the Host and Stay app - there was a sky box to navigate too, which was tricky if you're not technologically literate. Would have been nice to have a hairdryer and iron in the property. Would have been nice if BOTH bedrooms had a mirror and a wardrobe or hanging rail for clothes. One room has a huge wardrobe but no mirror (and a random office chair!), the other room has a full length mirror but only shelves and drawers.

Positive: Good location, on a quiet estate with a river running by and within walking distance of Holmfirth. It is also very close to supermarkets and an excellent cheese shop. The downstairs toilet is a bonus in a small property. Negative: One of the bedrooms has no bedside lamps, wardrobe or light shade on the ceiling light. The windows needed cleaning. No teapot!

Nice location for visiting Holmfirth - comfortable and well equipped. Front doorlock needs some work Positive: Good location, well equipped. Comfortable. Nice having two toilets! Useful touches in the kitchen such as frying oil, and a few other bonus condiments etc. Negative: Front door key was difficult to use - lock was tricky and required a certain "knack" to get it to unlock. The bins (both household and recycle) were already rammed full on our arrival, so difficult to dispose of rubbish.

The house was very clean, great comfortable beds and a well equiped modern kitchen and bathroom. Awesome views of the nearby river and in a quiet location in a modern housing complex. WIll definitley be back again. Recommended. Negative: If arriving after dark, the front door would benefit from a PIR activated exterior light as trying to hold my phone with light and entering the code was a bit fiddly.

Positive: Location was fine for a couple of days visiting area. Negative: Plumbing! Could not get cold water tap in bath to work, nor hot tap in adjoining sink! Reported problems via Booking.com,, but no response! Poor service.

Had a great stay at this lovely little house

Positive: We loved the location of the cottage with it being right next to the river, and also how quiet and peaceful it was. Negative: The broken toilet seat in the downstairs toilet, no wardrobe in one bedroom, and very few coat hangers in the wardrobe in second bedroom. No pictures on walls although there were hooks in place for them, and no ceiling shade or bedside lamp in the first bedroom.

Mooi verblijf in een rustige woonwijk aan het water. Positive: smaakvol ingericht in een rustige woonwijk op loopafstand van het mooie Holmfirth. Goede uitvalsbasis om het Peak District te bezoeken. Negative: De keukenuitrusting was aan de magere kant, weinig borden en mokken, geen schaar, kleine eettafel. De toilet bril beneden was kapot, geen lampenkap in slaapkamer. Kleine slordigheden wat zonde is, omdat het wel erg mooi is ingericht en heel schoon was.

Would not book again Positive: Located within walking distance of the centre of Holmfirth with two supermarkets closeby Negative: The cleanliness of the property was sub-standard. The oven was unusable during our stay due to a large spillage left by a previous tenant which meant once the oven was switched on, it smoked out the entire downstairs of the property. This meant we wasted food we had prepared at home to cook whilst away and had to source alternatives elsewhere. We reported this to host and stay the evening we arrived however due to the bank holiday, they could not arrange for a re clean so we couldn't use the oven for our entire stay. As with other reviews, we found the downstairs toilet seat broken and felt that there was a real lack of care and attention paid to the property- blown lightbulbs, missing pictures and large cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.

Positive: Was it good location 15 min walk from town by the river. Was very clean and good standard of kitchen. Negative: On a housing estate. Not very private people can walk across your window. The car parking space is the other end of the row of houses so you cannot see it. The house is very in personal no pictures on the walls in-fact hooks up but no pictures. Very poor book in the house not alot of instructions or help. One bedroom door will not shut which had been reported on previous review and downstairs toilet seat broken and the upstairs seat would not stay up. Still nice house but could be excellent with bit more care I felt was not value for money measuring it against previous property’s I have stayed in.
