Clean, fabulous location. Perfect for a family weekend away

We enjoyed our stay here and it is a prime location. The lounge, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom are lovely however, just a few things missing. There are not blinds in all the bedrooms so let’s in light at 4am and is impossible to put children to sleep early. The dishwasher didn’t work and there was no washing up liquid or anything provided. Not many instructions how to use things such as the oven, bin disposal, no extra bin bags etc. We did have a brilliant stay and I would stay here again just little touches I think need to be made We did

Positive: The location was very good. Accommodation was nice, spacious and comfortable Negative: The dishwasher wasn't fastened to the wall and fell forward on opening and the soap dispenser would not close and therefore cleaning was inefficient (which was commented on in August last year!) No oven glove, no cleaning products. No instructions for appliances. No soap in bathrooms. One of the blinds was broken and couldn't be opened. There was a highchair and travel cot even though we were told they were not available!. No stair gate though so not really suitable for toddlers

Fabulous stay in a great location. Positive: The property had a lovely layout and was in a great location. It was very roomy and easily accommodated two families without people feeling on top of one another.

Great property in a good location to the harbour & beach. Plenty of space for 7 adults and a toddler. One parking space but there's a car park nearby. £9 per 24 hrs. The beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Simply a wonderful time & will visit again.

We stayed at 4 The Mount as a family, it was a lovely house and looked exactly like the photos, although there were a few scuffs and scrapes on the walls and some spiderwebs in the hall. It was a great size for all the family and the kitchen facilities were great! The hosts were really responsive and helpful. A radiator valve was broken when we arrived so I let them know about that. The property could have done with hooks for towels on the bathroom doors as with there being 7 of us and underfloor heating there wasnt a lot of spaces to dry towels! There were no curtains on 2 of the bedroom windows which was likely due to the fact that the bedrooms were below street level but it made it difficult to sleep, as did the noise from the street of people walking past. We also felt the provision of toilet roll, washing-up liquid and cleaning products was lacking. Overall a good stay.

What a lovely stay we had in 4 the mount. The home itself is lovely with 4 great bedrooms and a beautiful kitchen and lounge space. It’s a perfect location in central Whitby and finished to a really nice standard. The on site parking is great and there’s a pay and display with 100m. We had 7 adults and a toddler and the space was perfect for us all. Our only one downside was that there is only one bathroom (two additional toilets) which made getting ready in the morning a little long but absolutely does not detract from our stay at all.

We visit Whitby as a family every year and always end up staying in two separate hotels (one suitable for children and one suitable for dogs) this year we found The Mount and it was everything we wanted and more. The photos don’t do it justice, it was immaculate, perfect location and great size (the kitchen being my favourite!) We are booking to stay again next year (and every year after that if it’s available!)

Nice place, good size for a family weekend away. Great location, only short walk down into town. However, bad damp in one bedroom. The bad “must” smell and wet carpet making it uncomfortable. Could do with freeing up their 2 locked car parking places saved for cleaners. This would allow for more than one car parking space for a large place. Parking near by is mostly permit only.

Stayed at 4 The Mount as a family of 5 adults and we absolutely loved it! Beautifully appointed, clean, very spacious, uncluttered… a really wonderful place to stay in Whitby. A real bonus having a parking space. The location couldn’t be any better. Great communication with ‘Host & Stay’ too. We’ll definitely be booking here again.

Relaxing stay in a convenient location Positive: Location was great. Living areas were good. Nice building with character . Negative: No shower gel or washing up liquid. One shower for a potential 8 guests.

Enjoyed our stay but would not return due to parking issues Positive: Location was excellent. Close to town centre and all amenities. Facilities within the property were excellent. Kitchen had everything we would want and more besides - freezer needs defrosting. Would have been useful to have paper guidelines for the appliances rather than a download! Lounge and dining area excellent. Plenty of seating and beds comfy. Negative: Couple of cosmetic gripes - missing blind in one of bedrooms and bathroom fan didn't work. Also a property for 8 people really needs more than one shower! Adequate number of toilets. The big issue was parking. I appreciate there was only one parking space but it was not apparent that after the yellow lines we were on private land - a sign would be useful. This would save us incurring the wrath of the landowner and a 15 min diatribe about the parking issues he has had over the years!! Also nearest car park was quite expensive considering we would be there for 4 days.

Positive: Location was good ., all of the house was lovely .We were a group of eight and it was very comfortable .we all said we would like to come back next year.

4, The Mount was a lovely property, just as pictured on the website. It was easy to get to and had private off street parking. Had all the listed amenities and more than enough room and seating for our party of 5. Everyone had a great 3 nights sleep in their respective beds, very comfortable and no sore backs in the morning. We were blessed with lovely weather for our visit. The Quayside and town are a 5 - 10 minute walk away. Be aware that Whitby is hilly and the most direct route to the quayside or the town is via a number of steps. There are other ways to get down to the quayside avoiding steps but they take longer and there are still inclines involved. This was not an issue for our group as we have visited Whitby before. Plenty to see and do and lots of lovely pubs and restaurants to keep you fuelled up for your travels. Would definitely return here.

As with most of the other comments, the location of the house was perfect. A very quick walk to the beach, the harbour etc. The house was clean and tidy, the bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was great; we cooked Christmas Day lunch there. I have given a 3 star rating because of the communication. I asked them if there would be any Christmas decorations up. I was told there would be some. When we arrived, there were none. I asked if there were going to be any and I got “no sorry, thanks for the feedback” in a nutshell. This may sound like it’s not a big deal, but had I known, I would have brought my own (we ended up buying some while we were there). Further to this, there were many things missing or broken, no washing up liquid, only 3 dishwasher tablets, broken tongs and coffee pods, plus more. If you state luxury in your ad, it really should be that and the communication and inability to rectify problems should be second to none. We wouldn’t stay there again due to this.

The place was lovely and well kept. Close to the beach and town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. \n\nConstructive feedback would be to increase the kitchenware - more tumblers and wine glasses, oven gloves, and cooking utensils. It would have been useful to know it advance when we enquired about kitchenware that the hob was an induction hob as the pans we brought to use were not suitable. Another key would also be useful. \n\nAside from that, the stay was lovely and beds and sofas very comfortable, table large enough to seat everyone. Would recommend.

House was in a wonderful location. \nVery much enjoyed the spacious home with plenty of room for everyone. Easy access to the town and its sights. It was lovely to find Yorkshire Tea, coffee and milk for our stay. Would highly recommend this location.

Pleasant and fulfilling Positive: Location, views, quality of building development. Negative: Although the property was finished to a high standard, there was a shortage of storage facilities in the bedrooms.... Just a small closet or wardrobe here and there would have really made a difference.

We had a fantastic time at The Mount and wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The house is stunning and looks just like the photos, it's clean, bright and has stunning views out of the living room. My only constructive criticism would be: - Finding it was a real pain, though I don't think that's the fault of the hotsts. The postcode takes you to the back of the house on another street and due to the tight/narrow nature of Whitby it's hard to know where you're going- plus the roads on the sat nav were one way, so just be mindful. - Only one shower, which is a bit tricky with a house full, but manageable. Overall, a great place to stay in a brilliant location- 5 minutes walk from the centre, clean, modern and comfortable with golf sized bedrooms and a great kitchen. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous place Positive: Lovely comfortable place .... Really clean and had everything we could possibly need. Very modern interior and a cute old school house exterior. It was exceptionally hot inside and a couple of the bedroom windows were too high to open but it was the hottest day of the year so I don't think this will cause problems to most people, knowing the English weather Negative: No garden area to sit in but not a huge issue as we were on a walking weekend. English weather doesn't often call for an outside seating area but it would have been nice to sit outdoors after the walk.

A lovely, comfortable property. Great position and well equipped. The only things that could make it even better would be: Instructions for the cooker and heating. Cleaning products being provided.

The apartment was lovely, very unique and beautifully decorated. The bed and sofas were comfortable and the kitchen/ dinner room was great for us all. The location was perfect, so much to do within walking distance so close to Whitby centre and lovely beach’s. The park space was handy and we also just paid to street park with our other car very easy and always space. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps providing hand soap in the bathrooms and washing pods washing up liquid the basic things you’ll need for your stay. As we had to go and buy all these which wasn’t a problem but would have been nice to have tea bags and coffee for when we arrived. Thanks for a lovely stay and the 10% code we will definitely be back. ☺️

Great Place, great host

The property has been beautifully refurbished and was very clean with spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Be aware it only has one bathroom with a bath and shower over it. The ensuite contains only a toilet and washbasin the same as the cloakroom upstairs. The kitchen and dining area are spacious and fairly well equipped. Could do with some oven gloves and a few more tumblers and for cooking (pasta) a large saucepan would have been useful. Be careful when loading and unloading the dishwasher. When the baskets are pulled forward, the whole appliance falls forward as it's not properly secured to the cabinet housing it. All said, we did enjoy our stay. The property is in a convenient, peaceful location with the town easily walkable down slopes and steps. The allocated parking space was appreciated and for two other cars, we used the West Cliff car park nearby, £11 for 24 hours. Pizza West is nearby and very good. Would recommend staying here and happily return. Excellent communication.

Amazing stay in an amazing property in a perfect location. Only downside is the 4 pm check in time is very late and the dishwasher and tin opener need fixing/replacing.

Positive: Size of house, location Negative: Only had parking for one car, on one occasion someone parked in it whilst we were out needs a deterrent. Dish wash tilted forward when you opened it and the tablet drawer was broken. Couldn't get the heating right. One of the bedrooms was cold set temperature to 20 degrees, less than a minute later it went down. On the last night our bedroom 2nd bedroom was too hot in the morning it had gone up to 26 degrees

Great stay in a lovely house. Positive: The property was spacious and clean. Good location and facilities near by. The parking space was a real bonus too. The kitchen was beautiful and the coffee machine was a lovely surprise! The lounge was comfortable and spacious. Beautiful decor all around. Negative: Although the windows are frosted glass it would be a bonus to put blinds for light coming in. Didn’t affect us due to the time of year but may affect some people in summer.

Perfect location for us Positive: Location was great, absolutely spot on for Whitby, a stones throw from the Whale bones and a 5-10 min walk to the harbour! One parking space reserved for the property (if you are looking on Google maps, it's not the tiny space between the lamp post and gatepost to the right of the property, it's the 3 spaces beyond that, no 4 is furthest bay away next to the bin area). Plenty of space in the apartment and good size bedrooms. Lighting throughout the apartment is really good. Bedrooms were on the ground floor meaning in the summer heat, the bedrooms were cooler than living areas upstairs... Plus much easier to access with suitcases. Each bedroom had a clothes rail, bedside table and the beds were clean and comfortable. Lovely arch window in the sitting room, perfect for a morning cuppa and a bit of reading. Bathroom and toilets were good, clean and excellent water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. A few little toiletries were left in the bathroom which was a nice touch. Negative: Not all windows in bedrooms had blinds or curtains, small top windows let in light as soon as the sun came up. Shower grip on the pole was broken. The tablet compartment lid on the dishwasher didn't click shut so unusable, no washing up liquid, no antibac spray to keep things clean. Communication with Host & Stay through Booking.com on the run up to staying was automated replies and my questions had to be asked several times and even then, not always answered. However on arrival and reporting the issues listed above, the customer service was really good, couldn't fault it.

Lovely accommodation, located in an excellent part of Whitby. All of the key amenities are within a stones throw from the accommodation. Nice and spacious accommodation which has been finished to a good level. The added bonus is one of road parking space directly next to the accommodation itself. I would stay here again and will be recommending the venue to friends and family.

Great place to stay in a good location. Really nice, clean and spacious inside and lovely decor My only problem is the damage deposit required as i paid the refundable £250 (minus £10 for some reason) and have still not received this refund almost 2 weeks after our stay. We did not cause any damage and this should have been checked and refunded by now in my opinion.

Good location, clean and modern, be aware of security deposit T's & C's. Positive: Good location, clean and modern accommodation. Good communication from hosts and easy to access Negative: Only 1 bath/shower which could be a challenge if fully occupied. Took 2 weeks to refund security deposit, should really be immediately following post-departure clean. Only 1 parking space, plenty of on-street parking nearby but only for 3 hours.

Fabulous stay at The Mount! It was immaculate throughout, modern and had everything we needed! Positive: The property was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was modern, nicely decorated and the place provided a relaxing stay for everyone in our party. There was plenty of room for us all and the location was excellent! We will definitely be booking The Mount again for any future visits to Whitby. Negative: The property was warm but in one of the rooms the heating didn’t warm up the room the same as the others. This was in the largest double room.

This property is beautiful and in a fantastic location in the centre of Whitby. The fixtures, fittings and furniture were all of a high standard. However the property has an issue with damp in one of the bedrooms which we could smell on arrival. The wall was wet, as was a section of the carpet. There was green mould on the skirting board which was starting to come away from the wall due to the water getting into the room from the road outside due to insufficient drainage. The bedding felt damp and the two party members using that room ended up sleeping on the sofas and leaving a night early. While we were at the property we found a review from September 2023 which highlighted the same issue and we were upset that despite a significant damp issue they were continuing to rent the property out. The foisty, damp smell was disgusting and quite overpowering at times.Air BnB gave us a small refund but the owners have still not acknowledged or responded to the complaints form I completed!
