A great location for exploring Whitby and fab accommodation to suit a family or couples wanting a catch up in relaxed surroundings

Lovely get away accomodation Positive: Location - modern - suited our family - parking space - tea coffee sugar and milk supplied. 3 bathrooms. Beds comfy - heating and showers good - coat hooks - tv and wifi good. Perfect location for our family. Negative: Walls were a bit tired with marks - crockery and glasses in need of urgent update as majority marked and chipped - chipped glasses and mugs not good for guests.

Brilliant location, great amenities and perfect for family holidays Positive: Spacious and brilliant location! Negative: We planned a family trip for 6 of us and there was parking only for one car. I did speak with their team who helped me find car parking space.

My family and I had a fantastic stay at the mount. The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk to everything, you wouldn't need a car. The mount was a lovely place to stay, it had everything we needed and more. Our host with was very responsive. I will defintly be returning and recommending the mount to friends and family.

Stayed over the Christmas Period, disappointed no Christmas Tree or Decorations had not been put up. Had to purchase one to make it feel like Christmas for our daughter. Place was clean, however stains on the carpets and quite a few scuff marks on the walls, could probably do with a quick touch up. Location spot on. After we left (10am), I received a call stating we were still parked there at 13.20 ... we were actually on the road on the way home. Perhaps taking note of the vehicle make and model before we arrived would be more helpful for the cleaners, so they know which vehicle belongs to what property instead of being accused? Overall a lovely holiday with the family.

Excellent location and hosts were very good at coming back to me on any questions we had. A few issues with guttering out the front when it rained heavily/gushed down the front of the house, scuff/marks/stains on furniture and carpets etc (only to be expected with pet friendly places with carpets) and tumble drier didn’t work. Otherwise it was everything we needed, very spacious, great location and close to everything in town, comfortable beds and excellent water pressure (the dream!)

Great long weekend in Mount No2. Location is great. Central enough to walk everywhere but also relatively peaceful. Plenty of nearby green space for the dog.

Fantastic property and location. The apartment is part of a beautifully converted old building offering a blend of modern comfort and original features. The living space is lightfilled and airy - you can throw open the windows and let the outside in. There is a green just opposite so it was also very practical for getting our dog out for his early and pre-bed stroll. The views from this part of Whitby are stunning so the humans enjoyed the stroll too! In short, it exceeded our expectations and we loved staying here.

Great location in the town with the added bonus of a private parking space. The property is within easy walking distance of the beach & shops. The beds were comfortable and there was ample space for 4 adults & a dog. One tip for future guests is that once you get into Whitby the mobile phone signal isn’t great so be sure to screenshot the directions & map for the location of the property before you get into Whitby otherwise you’ll struggle to find it!

Lovely Birthday Weekend Celebrations -2The Mount Whitby. Positive: The location is excellent. The place was clean, well equipped & the beds comfortable, with good quality bedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I had a few problems with email links but the local office sorted in good time for our trip. We will book again Negative: The apartment is due an end of season clean & paint. TV's in the bedrooms would be appreciated as our age ranges wanted to watch different things. A Parking card/disk would be appreciated for a 2nd car (only 1 space allocated at the rental) as the place sleeps 6 & is at the higher end of the holiday rental cost.

I had a fantastic stay at No. 2 The Mount for my 50th birthday. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The heating was easy to work. The sofa and beds very comfortable. It was a home from home and in beautiful surroundings. I would definitely recommend a stay at the mount.

This place is a gem of a find. Great location in Whitby and the private parking was a good plus. Accommodation was lovely. It was clean, light, airy and very comfortable. We had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. Communication with Dale was brilliant. Constructive criticism - supply of foil, cling film and baking parchment would be useful. It helps keep cooking trays clean during use and stops spills in the fridge when you have opened something. A decent serving spoon would also be useful and maybe a couple more baking type trays/tins. This by no means would stop us from renting again it would just make things a bit easier. My Mum had the best birthday! Thank you for having us.

We’re still waiting for a response from the company as the boiler wasn’t working on our arrival, no heating or hot water for the first 24 hours of our stay. A mere 2 degrees outside 🥶and when we eventually got to speak to a workman , he talked my husband through how to fix the problem!!!!

The house was very comfortable and it's in a lovely, quiet spot. The open plan kitchen/lounge makes it very sociable and perfect for six people. It's close to the sea front and a short walk to the shops, cafes and bars. The crockery could do with a refresh as a lot of it is chipped and a few extra pieces of cutlery would be useful. A great place to stay, we had a lovely New Year here

We had a lovely stay in Whitby! The property is well presented with spacious bedrooms and fabulous showers in the bathrooms. The living area was great - light-filled with lovely kitchen, dining and seating area. The online house manual was helpful especially for controlling the heating. The best part was the location as we were in walking distance of everything Whitby has to offer - including seeing dolphins and a seal on our first stroll down to the beach! Overall, we had a great time and the property made a fantastic base.

The apartment was beautiful. Perfect location . 6 girls stayed there . We loved everything about it . Would recommend to anyone .

The place was great. Location, parking etc were all really good. It did seem however that it hadn't been cleaned properly before our stay. There were quite a lot of stuff in the kitchen and in the living room which we had to hoover ourselves (toddler is milk free so didn't want to risk him eating anything). Also foil was left in the oven from the previous occupants. Quite a lot of hair was also found in the rooms

We had a wonderful 5 night break at 2 The Mount with extended family. Everything was exactly as described and we had a very comfortable stay. There were lots of places to wander around and the walk into town was no more than 5 minutes.

Just as described. Great location within walking distance of shops and bars. 5 minute walk to the Cleveland Way. Very clean and tidy, would definitely return if we are ever in Whitby again.

Fab stay! Positive: The house was very spacious, had everything we could possibly need! There were 6 adults who stayed so didn't spend a lot of time in the property but it was comfy and clean when we did! Negative: Not always a bad thing but the downstairs bedroom was too hot for us as a couple. Even when turning down was still very warm! Anyone who feels the cold would be perfect in that room!

An enjoyable start in a lovely property. Positive: Good location,lots of space, good white goods available to use, bed linen & towels suppled were of good quality. Negative: A few plates needed replacing, had a few chips, more cutlery needed, we only had 5 falls, there was six of us.

Would love to stay again Positive: Fantastic location with great parking spot. Very central. Well fitted out with modern decor. Comfy , cosy and a joy to stay in :) Negative: Couldn't open window in ground floor bathroom. Tumble dryer not easy to operate / didn't work well. More art work / decoration may lift some areas. Felt sparse on ground floor.

A very good property to rent out. Living room was large and could acommodate a large family. Excellent location, plus parking place, which is great in Whitby. The directions could be slightly better as the map takes you to a property 30 yards away, and this property is tucked away. A bit of love needed here and there - the wooden floor in the living room is coming apart, only 3 egg cups, only 2 cutting knives etc, but I would go back in future.

Great location but extremely dirty Positive: Fantastic location and very handy having a parking space. Negative: The house was extremely dirty. Brown marks on the tiles in the bathroom, stains on the carpets, dust everywhere. Marks on most of the walls.We raised this with Host and Stay who agreed to send house keeping round but this never happened. We expect some signs of wear and tear in a holiday let, especially in the height of the summer but this is the dirtiest house we have ever stayed in. Cups and plates were chipped and only five forks even though the house sleeps six people!

The property was in a great location but it was a shame that it was so dirty. Positive: Close to Whitby beach and town. The parking space was a good asset. Spacious property. Negative: All the mugs crockery and cutlery were filthy, this was surprising because the property has a dishwasher!!. The sink and work tops were dirty. |The carpets were dirty and marked throughout the property. Not very clear instructions to get to the property and the link sent did not work. Would not use this property again or recommend it to others.

Overall very enjoyable, relaxing. Would stay again. Positive: The location was brilliant, very clean and comfortable everything that we needed. Parking was a real bonus. Negative: We were told they didn’t have a cot so we had to buy our own travel cot but when we got there there was a cot! This was rather annoying. Access to the front door was restrictive with suitcases, pram etc.

Location was excellent, size of the property was too. We would say here again. Positive: Location was excellent. Quiet but not far from the centre of town and the beaches. The lay out and size of the property was perfect. Beds were very comfortable. Negative: Could have been cleaner. Lack of basic cleaning materials for spillages and wiping down surfaces etc. The carpet could do with a good clean.

Very enjoyable and comfortable stay in Whitby, thanks. Positive: Comfortable and spacious. Fully equipped kitchen if needed. Negative: A tv in the bedrooms would have been nice. The shower in the lower bedroom was accessed between the sink & towel rail - which was quite tight for larger persons.

Great place, great location, will be back. Positive: Fantastic property, lovely and light and warm. Comfortable lounge area and great to have the parking. Bathrooms and showers were finished off great. Negative: Nothing that we didn’t like. We will be back. (Serving spoons would be useful).

We had a lovely stay and found the apartment very clean, comfortable and well presented. The facilities were good and we really enjoyed our long weekend in Whitby. The only small comment we would make is that although there were plenty of plates and drinking glasses, the kitchen was a little limited for anyone wanting to prepare meals in the apartment. A few more serving bowls, cooking dishes or trays would have been helpful. It’s certainly not a criticism, just a suggestion, as we would have liked the option of cooking in as well as eating out. Overall though, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

Good place for the family Positive: Such a nice place to stay. We nearly didn't stay at Whitby again due to our last stay at Swales Cottage which was so bad. This place has put our faith back in visiting Whitby. Clean, comfy, good location, easy company to deal with. I have nothing negative to say about this place. And with the added bonus of a private parking space. Negative: There was nothing we didn't like.

Couldn’t fault it. Really nice property. Was nervous because of some of the more recent reviews but couldn’t see any evidence of the things that were mentioned. Would be looking to stay again 100%. Thank you.

The stay and location great, areas of the property could be cleaned better, stains on bedding and showers dirty with previous tenants shower gel in the cubicle, probably lacking in sufficient towel and loo rolls and kitchen utensils.

The house was freezing, the bookies was fixed 2 hours after we arrived. Requested £35 fee refunded for early check in and had no response! Such a shame as Whitby was beautiful

Wish I was still there Positive: The location is fantastic. Central to Whitby’s amenities. The property is modern and very roomy. There is everything there that you need for a comfortable stay. The quirky layout was a novelty too. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped (although we ate out). Just a beautiful location. Loved the fact it had its own parking space! Bonus I would love to stay again. Negative: Shame it didn’t have a view of the Abbey but it didn’t spoil our break. I am not sure what was going on with the wooden flooring in the kitchen. The gaps were quite big on the joins but again it was just an observation. Some paint work needs refreshing but it’s only to be expected at the end of the season. Also I think some instructions should be available on how to use the cooker and coffee machine.

Lovely apartment issues with it did mean our first evening was somewhat spoilt. Positive: Apartment we eventually ended up in was very nice and comfortable Negative: Check in time was too late , heating didn’t work, had to come back to property when gone out for evening to let maintenance in which put a downer on the first day.

Great location, overall a nice property for a short stay. Positive: Great location. Handy having a toilet on each floor and two showers in the property. Kitchen lovely. Lots of storage, clean and everything accessible. Light and airy property. Skylights were a nice feature in the kitchen and living area. Showers worked well, water nice and hot. Negative: The bed was too firm for our liking, but that's a preference. Sofa too low and too soft. (I sound like Goldilocks). The property was mostly clean and fresh, but the hallways were grubby with lots of marks all over the walls (I guess it's end of season so lots of people catching the walls with luggage etc). There was a continual smell of drains in the middle floor shower room. Had to keep the window open constantly in order to use this room.

Was a really nice place to stay! However, cleanliness was an issue. Stains and marks everywhere (walls and carpets) additionally there was hair all over our shower which wasn’t nice. Overall though, a lovely place and great location

We only booked a 2 night stay for 4 adults. No hot water for our first evening or morning showers was pretty unpleasant. Not sure how the cleaner had not noticed? Not repaired until the afternoon of the day after we arrived.

Positive: Great location and comfortable beds Negative: Marked walls, strange odours, we slept downstairs and felt not much ventilation.. and it’s a very early check out 10am !

Great location, a couple of small niggles. Positive: Location, recently refurbished, great bathrooms. Great to have a parking space. Negative: Lounge was quite hot even though the weather was only warm. We would struggle if it was a heatwave. Noise from next door, sound insulation was not great. Wooden flooring has gaps.

The Mount is extremely well located in Whitby, close to the beach and centre of town. The house is lovely. Light, airy, and great comfortable beds. All kitchen and bathroom consumables are provided which is a bonus.

Wonderful holiday home, beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped and welcoming. We loved the open feel of the living space and the fact that we could open two large windows - the weather was superb … and hot! We ate in, sometimes, and found everything we needed in the kitchen for preparing meals. The showers were lovely, spacious and powerful. Being able to access a private parking space was an added bonus and was easy to drive into. The only thing to be aware of is that there are two flights of stairs from the main bedroom to the living area. The second and third bedroom being on the ground floor. There is a toilet on each of the three floors so that was convenient. We will definitely be booking with Host and Stay again - they are superb.

The place was fine and parking was very close. However, when we got there the sink had dirty water in it, there was no plug in one of the bathroom sinks, no spare loo rolls. Some of the furniture was a little grubby ( the large sofa). It would have been nice if we could have parked earlier, instead of paying to park. Now this is no fault of the owners, but just be aware that if you don't mind seagull crap all over your car every morning, then you will be ok.

Very comfortable and bright living room and kitchen that was also very spacious. The location was superb with easy access to both sides of the estuary and centre of Whitby. The access by key safe was well ideal. Would definitely stay there again.

Fabulous stay! The accommodation was modern, cozy, very clean, flexible sleeping arrangements for our party of 6. We had everything we needed and it exceeded our expectations. Short walk to all amenities but with the obvious hills in Whitby.

Lovely 3 story property very centrally located. Modern design interior throughout. Well equipped kitchen. 2 shower rooms & 3 toilets (one on each floor) comfy beds. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay, the house was clean and tidy and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Dale was quick to respond and provide information and provided a very helpful guide. Would recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Be careful before handing over any money to Host and Stay Positive: Over 4 weeks since we went. STILL NOT GOT OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK. Be warned, before you book with Host and Stay. Also requested earlier check in. But they said they couldn’t guarantee it until the day. That’s fair enough. But on the day, they offered it me for 30quid extra. Got a feeling these guys are all about squeezing as much money out of their customers as possible, and less worried about customer service. What a shame!!!

A modern, spacious house in a super central location. Positive: Location excellent. Contemporary, clean, modern and spacious accommodation. Negative: The fact that the door code and instructions were not sent until lunchtime on our day of arrival. No outdoor balcony or space. No views.

excellent house brilliant location Positive: This property was very easy to access, the key box was easy to understand. 1st thing i noticed was how clean it looked and felt, the bedrooms was big with nice bedding. the heating was easy to work and heated up quickly. Negative: The added insurance before you travel was never mentioned, i didn't mind paying the £25 for 3 night if i had been told, as i would of sorted my own insurance and would of got it a lot cheaper. I dont like hidden costs, the hosts should be more up front about it, very sneaky!

OK apart from the damp smell but don't know if this can fixed Positive: Location, decor, facilities Negative: Smell of damp, there was quite a lot of plug in airfreshners in the property. Not damp but possibly a local issue with the drains in the bathrooms

Lovely stay minor issues,great location good parking the property has everything you need. Beautiful showers. Positive: Spacious clean well equipped Negative: Couldn’t get the cooker hob to work and the fridge froze our food. Also lots of stairs for older people.
