Lovely cottage and parking not an issue. Heating easy to work and plenty of hot water via combi boiler.Comfy beds and tasteful decor.Oven needed a clean and trays had melted fat on but everything else in good order. Enough cups for our family of three.Overall an enjoyable experience.Would stay again without hesitation. Late checkout payment resolved quickly.

Disappointing given the property write up gives off the impression it was going to be special Positive: Nice village and convenient location next to a spar Negative: The property was horribly dusty. It obviously hadn’t been stayed in recently as there was a lot of surface dust, but there was also plenty of thick dust that just simply hadn’t been cleaned properly. We were travelling with a 10 month old and when we got the highchair out of the cupboard, it was covered in hairs (almost as though someone had had a haircut in it!?), there was also a large staple and some rubbish in one of the bedrooms, which luckily was spotted before we let our child crawl around.

Les lits sont très confortables. Negative: L'isolation phonique n'est pas au top...le voisin se lève très tôt (4h30) et on entend son réveil sonner ! Cet la deuxième fois qu'on vient en séjour à host and stay et c'est la deuxième fois que nous constatons ce défaut.

I was really disappointed to find after booking that it was ran by a hosting company that tried to charge more money outside of Airbnb and not as an up front fee as part of the servicing on the website. Given we had to book last minute as our previous Airbnb cancelled on the day, its not obvious that this feels will be charged as it's hidden away in house rules! Sadly, this seems to be an acceptable practice by Airbnb who seem to only care about keeping the hosts on side and not the guests experience. Thankfully the Airbnb agent understood our position and refunded us the cost but there was no care from the hosting company themselves. They also failed to send us the lock details and then when we called on arrival they gave us the wrong lock details initially, which was less than helpful at 11pm with two small kids. Such a shame as the place was alright, but hasn't been cleaned properly with hairs in the bath and scum on the shower head, so not sure where that £60 cleaning fee is going.

Lovely cottage with excellent facilities however was let down by lack of attention to cleaning. The cottage was covered in dust/ cobwebs and although the bathroom itself was lovely the shower is suffering from mould and limescale (easily dealt with standard household products). There were also bags of rubbish left in the garden area of the property. Parking situation wasn’t ideal with 2 small children but appreciate this can’t be helped at times with the location of the cottage. Would have definitely put a higher star rating if the £60 cleaning fee was put to good use.

Pleasant. Functional Stay. Positive: Nice cosy property and they decorated it a little for the Christmas period which was nice. Heating easy to operate, for me anyway. Negative: A couple of cobwebs hang from celling. Hey that happens even at my house but when you pay to stay you expect that to be kept at bay.

Lovely cottage, great location & fantastic being dog friendly! Positive: Lovely & cosy - gorgeous Christmas decorations! Would love to stay again! Negative: Needed more mugs - 2 wasn’t enough for 3 guests & we had to borrow one from family! It would’ve been good to have liquid soap & more toilet roll - but maybe we’re fussy!

A very comfortable, clean house in an excellent location and it worked well for just the 2 of us. Positive: The location was excellent and it was helpful to have a well stocked Spar shop so close. Negative: Nothing worth mentioning

I booked this accommodation for 2 colleagues working in the are for the the , the location was perfect for them and so was the accommodation. Providing all the home comforts they need when working away from home, communication was excellent.

After reading one of the last reviews I was slightly concerned about staying in the property due to complaints about noise in the early hours but we had no such issues. We thought the property was exceptional - very clean, quiet and perfect for our 3 night stay due to a family wedding in the pretty village of Hurworth. We would definitely recommend this to family and friends and if we visit the area again would love to stay here again.

Regrettably disappointed with our stay here. Both mornings we were kept awake from 5am with loud music from neighbours. Issues with poor cleanliness, particularly of bedding. No offer to resolve from the hosts despite multiple attempts raising concerns. Quick responses from the hosting agency but none of any use and them receiving automated messages asking we review our stay and how we could receive money off for recommending. Very poor handling. Ruined two nights that were supposed to be special, visiting our wedding venue!

It was just as shown in the pictures. Very clean and well cared for. It was nice to have access to a fully kitchen and really lively bathroom for the week. Can’t complain about any of it.

Location was Great for exploring and everything you need is nearby. Positive: Location was Great for North Pennines or Middlesborough exploring. Negative: Parking on the street was difficult at times. No dedicated Garbage Bin location for our rubbish, however I did find one around the back lane that I could use.

Nice village location, super convenient for the shop. Place was mostly as shown in the pictures, and there was a small table in the kitchen which I wasn’t expecting. The decoration is really nice and modern. Although it’s small, the space worked well for our family of two adults and two small children. The house was well equipped although could do with a deeper clean (e.g. shower hose has some black build up, dust on skirting boards, marks on walls) and there was no wheelie bin so we had to leave rubbish in the back yard.

Wanted a little cozy get away from work, I got it. There are some improvements needs. Positive: Nicely furnished, private and comfortable Negative: Not very clean, cobwebs and spiders, towels had stains. Parking spaces are limited.

Positive: A complete shambles, first they could not sort payment, which took forever to sort. Then a constant stream of emails wanting money to insure against damage, then more emails wanting money to have the key an hour or so earlier. Then more emails wanting even more money to get the key even earlier than the first time. Then more emails to fill in a pre registration form. And guess what yes more money. With all that over , I thought we were home and dry. Ho no Then on the morning of the day we were due to go, phone calls and email asking where we had put the key?? Emails asking why we had not put it in the key box, this is before we have ever seen the place. Then the phone calls started. I was working at the time in a very noisy place and no phones allowed. Which i explained maybe 15 times on maybe 15 phone calls. Then at 4pm booking .com send a email saying the accommodation was now unavailable. We were in the car on the way!!!!!. Terrible experience who ever rings is very difficult to understand. Waste of time. Negative: Never got a chance to find out

Positive: Location Negative: Dusty, cobwebs, hair and rubbish left from previous people, cutlery, plates and glasses not clean, just dishwasher marks. Dust in the extractor fan in shower

Poor cleaning standard Positive: Sweet house and nicely decorated in many shades of grey! Negative: Very poor standard of cleaning. Dirty tissue in bathroom, rubbish on carpets, stained bed linen, lots of dust everywhere and dirty fridge. Shame as it would take a lot to bring it up to standard

Two night stay on route to Scotland. Everything we needed was here but a couple of minor issues. Cleaning could be improved. Parking was on the street but it is a very busy & noisy road which can be heard from inside. No curtains, only Venetian blinds so was awake at 5.00am with the light coming through.

Lovely property and great location

Lovely house in a village location Positive: The house was charming and well-located offering a great stay experience for the most part. The beds were super comfortable, great wi-fi and decor. Negative: Parking can be tricky but manageable. Essential items should be based on the length of stay and party number. For my 7 night stay for 4, there were only 2 mugs, 1 bin liner, 1 tea towel, 1 towel each and no toilet brush. I was able to source locally but shouldn't have had to. I did call the telephone number provided and was connected but after choosing the relevant option was cut off. There are two comfortable bedrooms but passing traffic can be heard from the street facing room. There was a lot of dust in several areas, particularly on surfaces and in corners, which slightly detracted from the overall comfort and presentation. A deeper cleaning and appropriate essential items would make this house perfect for future guests.

Lovely upstairs, couple very minor issues, but lovely all the same. Thank you. Positive: Very clean and tidy, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Negative: Coffee was mouldy, no oven gloves. WiFi details incorrect on sign in living room. No added human touch, previous stays at similar cost and style venues provided bread, milk & other niceties. Coffee maker (Nespresso or similar) would be great addition. Bit picky I know but other similar venues at that price offer those.

Lovely house ideally situated for using as a base for exploring the area. Would recommend. Positive: The house is very tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It is difficult to park outside the door, but you can easily park outside the Spar shop just a short distance. Hurworth is a lovely village with 2 pubs and a cafe. There is also a very nice Italian restaurant at the far end of the village which I would recommend and is within walking distance of the house. Good value too.

Lovely cottage in a lovely area, we would stay again. Positive: Good standard of decor. Good quality bedding. Provided with dishwasher tablets etc.. Negative: The table in the kitchen is inadequate , too small and not stable.

This is a fairly nice village, however, quite big & the road can get noisy with cars as well as people walking by, think there must be a school nearby, which won't be a problem at the weekend. Parking is tricky as the house is on a narrow bend but there is parking a few yards down the road, outside the Spar shop which is very handy & has most things. The house is small for 4 adults, with sloping ceilings, lots of character but not ideal if you are tall. It is fairly well appointed but, in need of some tlc.

We had a lovely stay for a couple of nights. The house was clean, accessible, and easy to find. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

We booked the place for 4 adults and it was not big enough or had the amenities for 4 people. 2 chairs to eat from . Not enough chairs in sitting area . Very dusty , worn . Made our stay very uncomfortable

The village of Hurworth on Tees is a beautiful place, pretty houses, excellent choice of food in a range of places to eat and drink with a deceptively large corner shop (Spar) in the middle of the village. The walking, whilst flat as a pancake, is excellent with loads of paths to follow; like everywhere this spring (2024) it was very wet underfoot. The cottage is small and quaint. If four of you plan on staying make sure to remember to eat in shifts as there are only 2 chairs for the kitchen table. We stayed over a long weekend, the noise from the neighbours between approximately 03:00 and 06:00 was deafening, waking us from slumber both Fri and Sat nights with low quality Discovery or History channel type documentaries at a volume easy to follow from any room in the Airbnb. A short lull at about 05:00 each night was followed 5 minutes later by loud pop music for a further hour or so. If interrupted sleep is your thing, you are completely deaf or nocturnal by nature, go for it

Broken coffee maker, toilet seat broken, toilet backed up and flooded on first flush, toilet water coming through floor into lounge.

Lovely home and comfortable beds. Houses needed more cleaning supplies and should have cleaner on arrival. Key was super easy to get from lock box but was under the impression it would have parking out frount

What a gorgeous cottage. Decor is lovely and gave me home inspiration. Everything we needed, towels, bedding, tea coffee, washing up liquid, tea towels was provided, even down to dishwasher tablets. Same with the bathroom, shower gel, hand soap, shampoo all in the gorgeous bathroom. There is parking, it's on the road outside, which is quite busy, however we found if go round the corner,there's plenty of parking nearby. Really pleased with the cottage and will booking again.

Good quality very comfortable accommodation Positive: Furnished and decorated to an excellent standard. Very well equipped with everything we needed for a short break Negative: There were only 2 dining chairs and a small table We had to bring in the garden table and chairs. As the house sleeps 4, there should be 4 chairs and a bigger table so everyone can eat together. Also a coffee table in the lounge would have been useful. Although the house was clean, evidently the spiders had been busy since as there were a lot of cobwebs.

Great two bed upstairs/downstairs home, very well maintained and presented. Very central to pubs and restaurants of Hurworth-on-Tees, and convenient off-licence across the road for groceries.

House was generally ok. Garden was a mess and had 4 bags of rubbish piled up in it. Shower was dirty and the water pressure was almost non existent. They also charge a £10 “admin” fee for the £250 deposit they take. Just trying to make as much money as they can for zero effort. Wouldn’t stay here again

Dirty and disappointing. Overall the place looked as it did in the photos, and the surrounding area was lovely. However we seemed to discover something dirty (the bath, the pans, used earplugs in the bedroom) or faulty (the toilet seat was broken, some of the pans didn’t work on the induction hob) constantly. We contacted the host on the first day to ask if they could do anything about it, and while the response was quick and friendly, they didn’t actually do anything about it. I wouldn’t pay the same money to stay here again as it turned out to be quite a stressful trip.

Negative: We stayed for two nights and were kept awake by noise from next door the first night. Both nights we were also woken in the early hours by an alarm and music from next door. Everything else was perfect but as we wanted a good night's sleep, we probably wouldn't use this property again, which is a shame.

A spotless and comfortable cottage right in the middle of a pretty village

A lovely cosy and comfortable house with everything we needed for a great weekend. We were able to walk to Rockcliffe hall for our spa day too.

What a beautiful cottage in idyllic surroundings. One night we had a takeout at the local chippy which was excellent and I can also recommend it for beautiful riverside walks and local gastopubs x

Good location, the bus stop is just a few meters away from the house. Quiet village with plenty of pubs around and for an afternoon tea or nice evening meal there is Rockcliffe Hall just walking distance (if you don't mind walking). The property has everything you might need and the host is very accommodating, swift response to any queries.

A lovely little cottage, great location, and really well thought out in terms of having everything you need for your stay.
