We had a fantastic stay at Hilltop, the privacy was just what we needed, and the views of the Berkshires were stunning. The cottage was extremely comfortable for our group of 6. The Red Cottage team was responsive and set a high standard for service and hospitality. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the hot tub due to filter issues, which we reported during our stay for attention.
Architecturally stunning home. Great space for our group to spend a chilly weekend. Great living room space with a high ceiling, fireplace, and Eames chair. Hot tub was lovely.
My group had an amazing stay with Red Cottage! We cannot say enough good things about the property and this rental company. Everything looked just liked the pictures and we really enjoyed being immersed in nature on such a private plot of land. I look forward to booking this property again hopefully soon.
We were a group of six adults with a 6-month-old baby, and overall, our experience at Hilltop Views in Hillsdale was positive with a few areas that could be improved. While we likely won't return with the same group size, we would consider coming back with a smaller group or fewer adults. The location is great. The house is secluded and quiet. Beautiful view, but only from the second floor master bedroom. Beautifully decorated. The pool is a good size. Unfortunately, the pool heater wasn't working, and we were notified about this a month before our booking. The weather was mostly good, so this was not an issue in most of the days. The property management was very communicative and responded quickly to all our questions and concerns. The master bedroom on the second floor is spacious and beautifully designed. The two bedrooms on the ground floor are smaller and just okay and share one bathroom. The fourth bedroom is in a separate guesthouse.
My wife and I had a magical time in this secluded beautiful hilltop sanctuary. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to the birds and trees and watching the sun come up over the mountains. The pool and hot tub provided a playful afternoon and relaxing evening! We didn’t want to leave! Hope to return soon.
My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement at the Hilltop and it was a perfect place for the occasion. The open-concept design of the house makes it feel very spacious and airy. The island in the middle of the kitchen can seat 2-3 people and has ample counter space. It quickly became our favorite place to sit and have a glass of champagne. There are large windows everywhere that offer plenty of natural light. The design of the master bedroom is also very unique—sliding doors connect the bedroom to the bathroom and walk-in closet, allowing one to leave the space open or close the doors for extra privacy. The view from the bathtub is totally spectacular. The outdoor pool and hot tub were also highlights of our stay. The pool is long enough to swim laps and the hot tub jets have great pressure for those seeking a nice massage! The views of the sunset from the lawn (also where the bathtub faces) are stunning (picture pink skies framed by beautiful trees). We will definitely be back!
Wonderful 2 weeks. Situated between Great Barrington and Hudson so easy access to both. Heated pool and hot tub were terrific, and hosts were responsive and helpful. Private and secluded as advertised. Great way to relax and have alone time with your loved ones.
We stayed here for a ski week as two families and had a wonderful time. The house truly lives up to its name, perched at the top of the hill with gorgeous mountain views and incredible privacy. It was very peaceful and perfect for relaxing after skiing. The open floor plan made it easy for everyone to spend time together, the master bedroom was beautiful, and the cozy fireplace was a favorite spot in the evenings. Highly recommend!
This house was spectacular! The setting was gorgeous and the design of the building was truly unique. There we amazing views of the mountains in every direction, including from the soaking tub in the upstairs suite. It was the perfect setting and home base for a fun weekend in the southern Berkshires, within easy driving of Great Barrington and numerous hiking trails. We relaxed in the jacuzzi, chatted around fires in the living room, and enjoyed the heated floors. The host was responsive and helpful with our questions while there. Couldn't recommend it enough!
I couldn't have imagined a more perfect three weeks than what I experienced at Hill Top managed by Red Cottage. The home is beautifully appointed inside and out. Working remotely during the week and entertaining friends and family for long weekends was easy to achieve with the homes warm and open floorplan and beautiful pool and outdoor area. Jo and Beverly with Red Cottage Management were very responsive before, during, and when leaving. I always felt attended to for whatever the reason. And they always kept me abreast of things like arrival of pool cleaning or grass cutting because of my length of stay. The two "double beds" in the home are futon couches however they have very comfortable bed pads on them. The guest house is perfect for those who prefer their own bit of space. It's not connected to the home and you walk back and forth through grass to get to and from. Summer sunrise and sunsets were amazing. I am certain fall leaves are too and might need to find out.
We had the most wonderful stay. Having traveled from Rhode Island for an escape from the holidays we had actually rented a hotel in Germantown initially. Without going into too much detail the hotel was not up to our standards. After one night there we began looking into alternatives. we found Hilltop and it looked perfect. Quickly, we were able to secure a booking for the remainder of our trip. Very responsive interaction throughout booking. It proved to be a peaceful oasis for the remainder of our trip and was a very memorable experience. The modern aesthetic was fantastic and we appreciated the architectural thoughtfulness which went into the design. It even snowed during our stay at the higher elevation the property is situated on. We were already planning a return visit to experience the surroundings in the summer. Thank you for sharing your place with us!
Beautiful panoramic private getaway recommended for a beautiful peaceful relaxation with unbelievable nature. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful private house! Access was a bit tricky initially due to a recent ice storm in which the host could've been a bit more proactive in treating the driveway / walkways to the front door. Access to the hot tub was also difficult due to a lack of shoveling the back patio / pool area and the doors to the screened in porch being frozen shut. The outdoor shower was completely blocked by snow and ice. The guest house access was also not plowed or shoveled. It was apparently snow flea season (not actual fleas, snowfleas are springtails) so the entire landscape was covered in tiny black bugs. They didn't particularly bother us in the hot tub, but very well could bother others more sensetive to insects. They stayed out of the house though luckily! The reco for 4WD / AWD vehicle is especially true in winter / spring as the driveway became very soft and muddy during the day, and slippery at night. Overall great house and responsive host, would stay again!

Beautiful modern space with an abundance of large windows and modern amenities secluded in nature.
Beautiful setting, very privaste and tranquil. Very nice house with a pool and hot tub in courtyard. Red Cottage and the local caretaker were friendly and professional and helped out when needed for any minor issues.
Pros: - Modern and eccentric design - Bright and airy space, lots of sun in the morning - Generous with supplies (bathroom necessities, an extra tank for the grill, 24H heated pool, laundry supplies) - Fully equipped kitchen - Upstairs bedroom and bathroom has an amazing view of mountain tops - Plenty of outdoor areas to lounge - Pool can be covered and uncovered with a flick of a switch - Responsive host Cons: - Needs a little bit of organizing/tlc (silverware, laundry room, huge collection of CD’s and DVD’s, pantry) - Challenging drive to the property, especially at night - Downstairs bathroom locks were not working - Upstairs bathroom does not have a lock This is my 2nd RedCottage booking and they don’t disappoint. Very responsive and courteous staff. Will definitely book again ☺️
The house is located in a gorgeous setting, and it is beautifully designed. The pool is gorgeous, and the guest cottage is awesome for a few people to have their own space. The house has clearly been rented out a lot. The kitchen is technically clean, but it needs a deep cleaning. The utensil drawers are disorganized, the coffee machine doesn't work, and there is a sticky film on the shelves, window sills, etc. There are really only two proper bedrooms. The other two bedrooms have pull-out beds with mattresses on them. There is only one full bathroom on the first floor. It's a wonderful place, but it needs some tlc.
