We loved our stay here. A beautiful serene setting. SO peaceful. Love the house - three bedrooms each with their own bath. Our grandkids loved the yard with swing and play house with slide. The screened in porch is awesome. And the front porch was a favorite spot on the porch swing. We saw deer regularly, which excited the grandkids. 7 years & 5. SO many extras provided too! TP, paper towel, salt & pepper, dish washer pods, even Q tips in the bathrooms. I definitely recommend this property. We brought along my daughter and son-in-law and two kids. And my 92 year old mother. 7 of us on this trip. Only downside is the climb up either the steps or brick path. Unloading was challenging but packing up was easier. Thankfully my Mom gets around well and was able to navigate the hill ok. We definitely got our exercise. Oh almost forgot, the fire pit is awesome. We love bon fires. Had one each evening. Wood is provided and there was plenty of kindling that was fun to gather. Loved our stay and the State Park Beach is literally 5 minutes by car.

A perfect home base for exploring south western MI. It’s surrounded by woods and right near the beach. The amenities were amazing and very thoughtful. Very family friendly.

Gorgeous, private, cozy, and kid friendly! Very close to the beach.

Overview: It was tough to rate this house: some features deserve 5 stars but the quality was uneven. Going with 4 stars because we did overall have a comfortable stay in a nice setting and I hope the hosts will keep working on the place so it lives up to its potential. Read the details below to see if it will work for you. Pros: - Easy to find and get in - Great location within a mile of beach and dune hikes, with a large wooded area near the house that was fun to wander (~30 acres, with trails) - Beautiful setting in the trees, lovely green all around - Outdoor sitting spaces on all sides of the house, particularly nice to sit on the screened porches - Nice décor, great light from windows and skylights, good lighting - Comfortable furniture and beds, plenty of soft towels and nice pillows - Nice layout with multiple common areas yet privacy for the bedrooms - Extremely well stocked with everything you need to cook or bake, as well as coffee, spices, soda stream, plenty of utensils a

We enjoyed our stay; the place was pretty big, and we enjoyed being there. We faced a few issues: one being internal; the downstairs shower had weak pressure with cold water. Another was a lack of communication, as we called multiple times to fix the hot tub and get it working, but we heard nothing back. Otherwise, everything went smoothly.

Beautiful house, lots of space, amazing setting in the woods. Abuts a 30 acre preserve with trails. Easy walk to Warren Dunes beach. Thanks!

The primary issue we had with the property is that it is listed with beautiful photos inside and out, and managed by a luxury home rental company Junpier so our expectations did not meet the property as is. We arrived 30 minutes after check in and had to wait 2 hours because the cleaning crew had just arrived. They likely felt rushed, but the house was not cleaned well. I spent the first hour vacuuming most of the rugs as there was food and debris on several of the floors. Inside, the place just is run down- all rugs have stains, kitchen has a lot of haphazard utensils and pots and it is not organized. Kitchen sink knob came off every day, and the master bath sink was clogged our whole visit. Downstairs shower cold water only. Downstairs is a nice TV area, but couch is child size and should be replaced so adults and kids can sit together. We didn't want to spend whole vacation waiting for workmen to come and address, given there were so many issues. On to the outside - sadly as other reviews suggest the outside has not been maintained in a long time. Cobwebs everywhere, outdoor furniture covered in debris, grill is rusted out. Here are the positives: the location of house is great, neighborhood quiet and you are very close to Warren state park so convenient. The house has a screened in porch room that is very nice. At end of the street is a cute donut shop. With some attention and maintenance house could be improved.

Only negative which is why I’d give it 4/5 stars is the outside furniture and appliances weren’t well kept or cleaned before arriving. Lots of spider webs, moss on all the furniture. Grill was rusted out.

We enjoyed our stay at the “Wonderwood Cottage”, Juniper Holiday Home. We felt the inside of the home was accommodating, clean and well maintained. We loved the quietness and the expansion of trees everywhere. I chose this house for many reasons: a family vacation, an anniversary, the location, and it’s size but one of our main focuses was to gather in the outdoor patio areas. The outside was pure disappointment. Upon arrival, it was clear the property had not been properly de-winterized or prepared for guests making it feel unclean and poorly maintained from the start. The wagons provided for hauling firewood an supplies were filled with standing water to the top and with debris, rendering them unusable till they dried. We spent an hour and a half cleaning and removing leaves, dead bugs, dirt, and cobwebs from everywhere trying to make the place half way presentable for the rest of the family’s arrival. A manager from housekeeping (Christina) stopped by while we were cleaning and she told us to stop cleaning and she would have someone to clean on Saturday. It was power washed and blown off the best the nice gentlemen (Allen) could do while we were staying there, he was there all afternoon into the evening while we were vacationing. Unfortunately, that did not help us in the moment, because all carpet and furniture was too wet for normal use.Overall outside did not meet expectations, did not look like pictures.

The property is beautiful, and the yard has several fun things for kids. The inside was charming, but some negatives stood out. Ant traps were placed in many places easy for kids and pets to get to. There was a large stain on the couch and ceiling near a sky light. Multiple lights didn't work. The checkin and checkout weren't ideal (check in is at 4 and check out at 10). Kitchen had plenty of utensils and cooking gear.

The house is surrounded by forest, making the area feel very quiet and peaceful. The backyard is charming and well set up for relaxing, cooking, and outdoor games. Since it seemed to be early in the season, the outdoor area wasn’t fully prepared yet, with some old leaves around and dusty patio furniture. Inside, the house was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, including items for infants. We really enjoyed our stay.

We loved this beautiful property. You see the forest through every window, the living space with fireplace is warm and cozy and we appreciated the separate TV room. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and the kitchen is great. The variety of outdoor and screened spaces let you really enjoy the property. Great spot.
