We were family with mixed of school age children, young adults and older people. The grounds were great. We used the pool everyday. The tennis court was in good shape. The trails around the property were well maintained. Hudson, Red Hook and Millerton are quite accessible. The porch and outdoor spaces near the house were lovely.

The Red Cottage was honestly the perfect spot for our trip. The property is absolutely beautiful and the pictures really don’t capture how special it feels in person. It almost felt like we were in another country. So peaceful and tucked away, but still super comfortable and perfect for a weekend with family and friends. We spent most of our time hanging out by the pool and playing tennis and pickleball. We didn’t even feel the need to leave the property. Everything we needed was nearby too like the grocery and liquor store that was only 10-15 minutes away. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing escape with amazing outdoor space, this place is a gem. Definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful experience. The house is amazing. My family really liked it. We hope in the future we are able to go back. Peace and quiet there is the best.

Our stay at Red Cottage’s 100-acre Ancram property was nothing short of magical. We booked this home for a much-needed family getaway and to celebrate my sister’s graduation and it turned out to be the perfect place for both. From the moment we arrived, the peace and tranquility of the property completely enveloped us. The scenery was breathtaking, the home was cozy and beautifully maintained, and everything about the experience felt special. It truly felt like home if home were tucked away in a peaceful slice of heaven. We spent our time reconnecting, laughing, and making memories in a setting that we honestly didn’t want to leave. Thank you to the Red Cottage team for making this such a memorable and heartwarming experience. Just want to give Red Cottage and Lisa a special thank you for being such great hosts.

This is an absolutely wonderful property. My family stayed here over the holidays and it was a wonderful retreat for our group of 10. The property was clean, spacious, and had lots of nice personal touches. My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer!

Family get together We had a great time in a glorious property with magnificent views around us. The 5 cousins loved playing in the pool, learning pickleball, and watching frogs in the pond. The outdoor area was our go to place with baby swallows chirping above. Evenings around the fire pit and rainy day puzzles on the enormous dining room table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing Vacation Retreat! Our family (of 3 generations) so enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The house was spacious and offered several relaxing gathering spots, inside and out. Also, we appreciated the dining area on the covered deck so we could eat outside in the evenings. The grounds are well maintained and the lovely gardens add to the experience of staying here. Our family had fun in the pool, the tennis court, the pickleball court, and the bocce court. Oh, and there's a basketball hoop, too! We were so happy that the house came with all the equipment we needed for those sports. Any questions we had during booking and our stay were answered very promptly. This is a fabulous property!

Country get away 3 generations vacationed together in this luxury property. From the 5 grandchildren to the grandmother, we all found lots to keep active and happy. The pool and pickleball were the biggest hits. The property manager was very responsive to all our requests. I highly recommend this property for large groups and children.

Family getaway What a wonderful place for our large family. So much room to roam. Our host was amazing and responded quickly to any question.

Lovely place, great communication We really enjoyed our stay and Lisa was so easy to communicate with. The kids loved the pool, hot tub, tennis court, basketball, and lake!

New years get away This was a perfect location for our family to gather and celebrate the new year! Very clean and comfortable and so spacious. The kitchen was wonderful and perfect to cook in and the huge table was used to gather and eat and play board games on. The view with the comfortable couches and fireplace was and ideal gathering spot. Would love to go back during any season of the year, do much to offer.

Amazing house We had a great family weekend. The house is very large but cozy too. We would definitely rent this amazing house again. The house, covered deck, on site hiking trails, bocce court, tennis court and game room in the red barn provided lots of fun activities for all of us.

A Hidden Luxury Getaway! My family and I were blown away by this beautiful property from the minute we pulled through the gates. It was like having our own private estate! We really enjoyed the large kitchen and big dining room tables both indoors and outdoors that allowed everybody (8 adults and 1 child) to eat together. We spent most of our time around the pool and spa, as there were plenty of chairs. We also enjoyed the tennis and pickleball court and were happy to see that a set of racquets and paddles were included! The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. We also spent some time in the refinished barn near the end of the driveway playing some pool and darts, it was like being in a lounge without having to leave the property. Lisa was so welcoming and kind to us, and the check in and check out process was quick and seamless. I HIGHLY recommend this property for a wonderful getaway experience!

Incredible stay We had a wonderful time at this house in Ancram! My family including my parents (in their 70s) and my niece (1 years old) went for a long weekend together. The house was beautiful and spacious, and the property with all of its amenities (pool, basketball court, tennis) were fabulous. Lisa was a great host and very helpful. They had thought through every detail of what we would need for a spectacular weekend in this home. All in all, we loved this home and will be back!

BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED This property has everything, and I mean everything. From an in-house installed music system where you can have music playing inside and out, ice machine, all the best appliances if you are making food, so so so much space, bathrooms in each bedroom except for what seemed like a kids room with bunkbeds, walking trails, a lake, fireplace, TV, amazingly soft beds and sheets/blankets, it was all so amazing. Communication was great with ownership, they answered all my questions within an hour while we were there, and within 24 hours leading up to the trip. Could not suggest enough. We can't wait to come back when the pool is open, its a vacation spot all in itself!!

Family Retreat and Treasured Memories This beautiful property has a Log Cabin chateau sitting on a hilltop. Every day we played Bocci and enjoyed the tennis court, then cooled off in the swimming pool, the pond, or the nearby lake at the state park! For our multi generational family vacation we appreciated the perks staying on campus while babies napped! Not far away we discovered farm stands, culture, art, history, rail to trail bike paths, public golf courses, and beautiful Berkshire waterfalls hiking in the mountains. Our family (Ages range 60's to 30's to 10 months old) highly recommend this treasure.

Incredible place! Came here with family to celebrate my mom's birthday. The house is beautiful and spacious, as are the grounds. There's also an amazing pool/hot tub combo where we spent most of the time. Tennis and bocce courts were fun, too. Kitchen was well stocked, and there were plenty of towels and linens. The only downsides were some of the furniture wasn't in the best shape. Not a huge issue at all though. Would highly recommend this place!

Great Family Stay - Plenty To Do at House Went with my family... my kids loved the pool, tennis and bocce ball. Ping pong in house was fun too. Nice and quiet. Took a stroll down to the pond to relax and enjoy nature. great property.

Amazing Getaway The pool and tennis courts were amazing. The owner was helpful and responsive. It was a great escape for the whole family.

Weekend Family Trip Rented this location for a weekend getaway with friends and family (8 adults and 3 children). Nice and spacious property. Good amenities, including a nice deck area and pool. Expected a bit cleaner pool and pool area for the price, even if the property sits in the middle of a wooded area (we had to remove pool debris ourselves). Larger and/or extra beds would have been great (a bit tight for "sleeps 14"). The furniture was a bit dated. More local area guidance (restaurants, hiking trails, activity options, etc.) would have been helpful too. A swarm of horseflies initially gave us a scare but luckily they didn't ruin our weekend. Overall, the property was nice and we made good memories. Efram, the rental consultant, was responsive and accomodating.

Perfect! The property is amazing. It was perfect for a family and friends get away. The large windows and open concept was perfect. We are already planning our next trip here for the summer.

Great retreat from everything Me my wife, 3 kids, niece and dog stayed here for a weekend. We were looking for a place to get away from everything and do it safely. There was so much to do at the estate we never left the property. There is a pool, hot tub, tennis court, bocce court, basketball hoop, it's own pond with a boat and plenty of hiking. The house was absolutely beautiful filled with lavish amenities. It was so big my kids played hide and seek in the house. It was very pricey, but it had a lot of bang for the buck.

We had a really lovely time at this property! The host graciously provided us with all the information we needed to find and access the property easily. The house itself was beautiful and quite spacious. We had 10 guests and everyone was able to sleep in a bed. The basement bar especially felt cozy and functional.

Great stay Was perfect for group of ten friends for a 50th!

A truly special place This is a lovely home and a beautiful property. It is a serene oasis surrounded by trees; the air is clear and full of birdsong. Ten of us stayed here to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday and were delighted with the accommodations. The house is extremely well set up and comfortable, with one gorgeous master off the living area upstairs and the other 4 bedrooms (3 of which have en-suite bathrooms and huge closets) downstairs. There is a beautiful wood table that seats12 - 14 comfortably, which was truly unique. A wonderful setting for a family reunion: we made memories that we will treasure.

Family Holiday Get together! Amazing! The property is amazing! Plenty of space for the 12 of us. Tons of room to play indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is incredible- anyone who likes to cook will be happy with this kitchen. The sleeping quarters are more than adequate. The fireplace and windows make an unforgettable atmosphere that the families will remember forever. Thank you!

Fabulous Property I rented with a group of friends for a weekend getaway and it was everything we were looking for. Great amenities (tennis court was particularly nice) and a huge, well kept lawn leading down to the pond - just a great place to spend a weekend.

Excellent Stay 4th of July Weekend My group and I booked this place for the 4th of July weekend and I must say that we were very pleased overall. The main room and open concept design was great for us, everyone had plenty of space to relax and unwind. Kitchen was stocked with dishware, plates etc so we could cook. The outdoor grill has a direct propane line so we were able to grill, which was great. Bedrooms were all clean as were the ensuite bathrooms. Pool area and hot-tub were terrific. Pool was clean and the heater also worked well. All-in all this was a great place to spend time with friends and the host was quick to answer any of my questions. Thanks again!

I had an incredible stay at the Red Cottage's place! It was spotless and felt so relaxing, providing a perfect escape. It truly felt like home from the moment I walked in, with every detail thoughtfully arranged. The home itself was absolutely beautiful—far more stunning than the pictures can capture. The decor was elegant yet cozy, with well-maintained rooms and everything I needed. I especially loved the cozy blankets and well-stocked kitchen, which added to the comfort. I would highly recommend the Red Cottage's place for a peaceful and luxurious getaway. I can't wait to come back!

Incredibly beautiful house and space (with some caveats) Overall, the house is absolutely beautiful and so close to Hudson. Well equipped kitchen and patio/deck and sports closets. Comfortable beds and bedding + very spacious and nature awespiring, so good for a group of adults. Before booking the property, I was in contact with Lisa who was absolutely LOVELY and so accommodating + helpful + quick to answer. Closer to the stay the management company expanded to Red Cottage company. A few heads up: 1) there is no bathroom near the pool 2) the house says it sleeps 13 but there are only enough beds for 12 (unless you squeeze 3 people on a king bed) and no extra bedding provided. 3) No extra towels provided either which is odd given there is a pool. Two complains we had: 1) The dishwasher did not work, we tried it with less dishes/more dishes etc and had to end up hand washing everything. 2) A Gardner and property manager randomly came to “check in on the property” and my guests on a Saturday evening and didn’t announce themselves. It was jarring and unsettling for the group since I wasn’t warned and we had girls in bathing suits and randomly saw 2 strangers around a secluded property. I reached out to the property managers to inquire about what was going on and they just played it off which is disappointing given how much we pay for a premium secure private property. 3) there is a water leak in the bunk beds room. we had to put a towel there to protect the interiors. Would stay again if fixed! Enjoy:)

Beautiful property We had a wonderful long weekend with 3 generations. The house and grounds are amazing. Lots of space. Kitchen very well equipped. Remember to bring paper goods, detergent and Tupperware. The fall colors and chilly weather added to the overall ambiance. The hosts were available and very responsive. We’ll try to be back!!!

Good times Property was great! We had a multigenerational family vacation in this house and everyone had a great time. The kitchen well stocked. The house feels even bigger than the pictures show. Our family loved the outdoor activities (tennis, pool, bocce). We barely left the property the whole visit. Of note, the tennis court was in amazing condition (former tennis player in the family). Pickleball also a hit. Plenty of places on property in and around house to hang out. Outdoor covered deck was perfect spot to relax. Comfortable beds, beautiful master suite. Owners very responsive and welcoming. Would stay here again for sure.

House was beautiful with a lot of natural light. The grounds also allowed for hiking right on the premises as well as several other outdoor activities. Can only imagine how nice it would’ve been with the pool/hot tub open during the spring/summer months. AI responses also allowed for very quick answers to basic questions whenever we needed it.

Fantastic place!

Gorgeous house with flaws The house and actual accommodations are great. Bed linens, kitchen supplies and rental management services all tops! There were 3 issues - lots of bees/wasps nests on the deck (which wasn’t that clean)-room with pool floats etc was very dirty ( but once we told them - it was cleaned ) but most importantly the odor of the fireplace was so intense ( even though we never used it ) we had to leave 2 days early.

beautiful house, well appointed kitchen, bedding great and surroundings...but Overall experience was mostly positive, but could have been amazing. The good news is that the house is beautiful and very comfortable. The property managers were attentive and very helpful. The 2 issues were a ton of wasps and bees nests (log cabin house) and most importantly, the fire place, because of the humidity (apparently) started to emit fumes that made it too smelly to finish our stay. We had the property manager visit us twice and he agreed about the smell. We informed the manager we would leave if nothing could be done - because our eyes were burning. This all would have been rectified if our request for reimbursement for 2 nights were granted. We went through proper channels - telling the property manager we couldn't stay but when a 2 night refund was requested, it was denied. So - bottom line is the house is everything it says on the site (although the room with the floats near the pool was super gross)...the beds are comfy, towels, sheets, kitchen all good. If they only did the right thing this review would have been much stronger.

Great Space and Service Management and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful when needed. The house was beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed for an incredible stay. The house is fantastic in the winter and we can only imagine how great it will be in the summertime with the tennis court and pool availabilty.

No need to leave once you arrive… Rental process and communication was excellent. The home is large, open and well-equipped. The amenities are lovely, as described. Plenty to do without leaving the grounds.

Beautiful location We had a short weekend stay and everything was perfect - very clean, well stocked, kitchen had everything we needed, and the home was very comfortable. Everyone wished we could have stayed longer!
