We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return again.

Second time staying here and once again we had a great experience! The property is lovely, the house is unique and the location is great for easy access to hikes, restaurants, playgrounds, skiing, etc! Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Our second stay here, and somehow we loved it even more than the first! There’s a reason we came back. The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, cozy, and the perfect escape from the city. We came with our puppy again and had such a relaxing weekend. Everything was just as wonderful as we remembered, and it truly feels like our little Catskills getaway now. We’re already looking forward to visit number three!

We stayed for 5 nights and wished we could have stayed longer!! My son (who is almost 10) loved the secret room off the loft! He made it his space and it was his favorite part of the house (besides the hot tub). We had one rainy afternoon but we still got time outside on the covered porch! Portoro was very responsive and lovely. We really loved this cabin and can’t wait to come back again next year. There is an air conditioner upstairs which does a decent job of cooling off the house but if it was really hot, I might not be comfortable. They have tons of fans to help circulate air so that definitely helps. Even with that, we can’t wait to come back next year. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We totally enjoyed our stay in Lanesville. The house and setting exceeded our expectations. We throughly enjoyed the out door fire pit and hot tub after a day of hiking. The sounds of the creek lulled us to sleep at night. The house itself was cozy but offered lots of privacy and a very zen but homey ambiance.

Our family and doggies had such an amazing time getting away from fireworks and staying at this beautiful home/cabin. We loved the design, the cozy feel. It felt like our dream cabin if we were able to own one of our own. It has a perfect blend of updated with old charm.

Very special and unique home. Details were very artful in a beautiful peaceful setting. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! The property rental company is a bit annoying. The additional check-in process felt like becoming a tenant, and we received several repetitive messages.

Review We were looking for something secluded but not miles away from restaurants and activities. As we pulled up to the cabin it just felt perfect. The inside was even more welcoming than the outside. The cabin was uniquely designed and put together, actually gave us so many ideas on what we would do on our future home. Falling asleep with the window slightly open so we could hear the sound of the creek behind the cabin was the only way to fall asleep. The kitchen was one of our favorite places, making coffee in the morning as we planned for a day full of activities. The hot tub was perfect to relax the muscles from a long day of exploring. You don’t need to bring anything, hair dryer, iron, even a steamer the cabin has it all. It was truly a home away from home. We will definitely stay at the cabin again.

Fun house! Beautiful property. Felt more homey than a typical Airbnb, in a very good way. Lots of nice amenities around.

This place exceeds the listing by a million miles - it’s the best location house and everything I’ve ever stayed in - the facilities are incredible the finish on everything is brilliant - underfloor heating, gorgeous robes, coffee provided it’s just really really great and it’s near the road but also feels completely off the beaten track and private. We loved it.

This cabin is a great space. Peaceful surroundings and right near a creek so you hear the sounds of running water which is wonderful. Lots of small details in the cabin and the firepit and hot tub were an added bonus. I'd definitely stay there again. The responsiveness from the renters was fast and helpful.

Everything about this cabin was exactly as described - and honestly, even better in person. Staying here felt like being a fairytale princess tucked away in the woods. Hearing and seeing the stream behind the house was absolutely magical and so peaceful. We chose to sleep in the bedroom with the skylights, and it was truly dreamy. I had some of the deepest, best sleep I’ve had in a very long time. The entire cabin was spotless and incredibly well stocked - honestly, some of the best extra amenities I’ve ever experienced at an Airbnb. I was extremely impressed by all of the thoughtful touches. The hot tub was amazing and exceptionally clean, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. Portoro Homes was also incredibly responsive - both times I reached out with questions, I received a reply within just a few minutes. The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. I absolutely fell in love with this cabin and would rent it again in a heartbeat.

We stayed one week and we had an amazing stay. The house is warm and cozy, with everything we needed. Host (Portoro) was really responsive and put everything in place to ease our stay. Note than this is not secluded, there are some house and neighbors close by and could potentially see some part of the lot (Jacuzzi side notably). Garden behind the house close to the river could have much lusher vegetation, but it will only get better with time. We overall had a very great time and would warmly recommend.

This was my family’s second stay at this house and the place is perfect. Great location situated right in between Phoenicia and Hunter with direct access to the river. Will certainly be back again!

This place is a beautiful escape from city life. It’s a great way to unplug and enjoy nature. It’s on a pretty private piece of land that backs onto a river. It’s scenic and beautiful. The hot tub was nice to use in the cold. However the fuse blew a few times during our stay which was a bit frustrating to get out in the cold to troubleshoot/turn on. Since this air bnb does allow pets it should have a bit more of a deep cleaning done. I have a small poodle that’s hypoallergenic. He’s does not shed fur. However as we’d sit on various surfaces and the couch we’d be covered in white fur. Given that we pay a reasonable cleaning fee and pet deposit I’d expect it to be more clean. They provide lovely Snuggie jackets to go out in and robes. However one of the bath robes had some staining on it. The toilet has a bidet which is a nice touch however it was not cleaned properly upon check in. There was some sort of either saw dust or something else on it

We stayed for 3 nights with my husband for our anniversary trip. Overall, the cabin itself was great. The kitchen was well-stocked and even included skewers for making s’mores, which we enjoyed by the indoor fireplace. The heated bathroom floors were a nice touch, and for an Airbnb, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. That said, there were some maintenance issues that impacted our stay. The back door would not lock, so we ended up sleeping with it unlocked, which made us uncomfortable. We also experienced flickering bathroom lights, a broken bathroom light knob, stained bathroom tub floor, and a broken mirror. We were told someone would come check on the door, but we never received a follow-up. The host was communicative overall, though the issues were not fully resolved during our stay. Despite this, we still enjoyed our time and the cabin itself was great, but some maintenance attention would improve the experience.

Beautiful home, a very cozy, unique, and inviting space. The surroundings were beautiful and picturesque and the hot tub was awesome! My daughters especially loved the hand painted rocks, the hidden wooden mouse, board games, and little door that led to the reading nook. The home is conveniently located to Hunter mountain to ski and snowboard as well awesome restaurants. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. We decided to leave a day early because of a big snow storm and the hosts were flexible and genuinely concerned our safety with traveling back, which made the trip even better knowing we were all on the same page.

Beautiful cabin in the woods!

It was perfect for our group. The beds were comfortable and clean sheets (my n1 concern) we loved the hot tub. The house was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The views of the mountains were gorgeous. It’s deff worth the stay. Super recommend if you want to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Absolutely beautiful home with lots of thoughtful, gorgeous touches and plenty of cozy indoor/outdoor spaces to relax in. The tub, the creek, the wood stove and the bedrooms are all outstanding. The place is very special and I would definitely rent it again in a heartbeat.

My friends and I really enjoyed staying at this place! It was beautifully cozy and we appreciated the thoughtful little things like big fleece robes to go to and from the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked as far as AirBnbs go which was important to us as we were having a little Friendsgiving. I would definitely go back!

We loved our stay at this cabin! We made use of all of the amenities, including the hot tub, fire pit, grill, and the foosball table. There were fun touches of whimsy that made it feel really unique. The only hiccup we had was in checking in the code hadn't been set properly, so we had to drive back to Phoenicia (for service!) to call and get the right one. That said, this was a really quick fix, and we had no other issues during our stay. Highly recommend!

Very cute and cozy!

The house is so adorable, great location right near the river, heard the rushing stream as soon as you walk to the house. Nice sized living room and dining area for a group of 4, needs a bigger couch or chairs to fit any more people. The robes were such a nice touch and we loved using the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. The hot tub looked clean and in good condition. The only problem was that the code they gave us didn’t work for the front door and we had no cell service so thankfully my friend was able to use satellite service to text them. And they asked us to unload the dishwasher because the “cycle hadn’t finished on time”, but didn’t give us a discount on the cleaning fee.

Beautiful relaxing get away with a friend. One of my favorite air bnbs I’ve stayed in. There were two slight hiccups, but communication was very easy and proactive to fix any issues. Would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this property. So special. Our family of four enjoyed every unique touch and there is much to discover and enjoy! The backyard mountain views and the creek, hot tub...there are just so many small details- both inside and outdoors- that make this place so fantastic. It is rustic and chic, comfortable and very cozy- the fireplace is a great feature, beds feel great, hosts were responsive and helped. Convenient location to great small towns, lots of hiking and excursions nearby, fun restaurants. We can't say enough about it. We spent 2 days only but it was a beautiful fall getaway and we made some wonderful memories here. We will be back and thank you!
