Cozy Retreat: Sauna, Hot Tub, Game Room — Guest Reviews

The house was beautiful and easy to find. We were in town for the Spartan Race. The hot tub and sauna were definitely a hit before and after! The neighborhood was very quiet and views were serene. Got to watch squirrels and chipmunks play in the backyard while sipping coffee this morning before we packed up to leave. This place was perfect for rest and relaxation! Also very close to all Massanutten Resort has to offer. We would definitely stay again!

Overall, the Airbnb was really nice and in a great location, only about five minutes away from the resort, which was super convenient! We did have an issue with a leak in one of the bedrooms that ended up leaking onto the bed, but thankfully, the issue was resolved. My only real complaint about the property was the trash situation. We were asked to take the trash to a location that was about a five-minute drive from the Airbnb. I personally found this to be a huge inconvenience, especially because the location was extremely hard to find. I feel like guests shouldn’t have to drive somewhere just to dispose of their trash. Other than that, the Airbnb itself was nice, and we enjoyed the location. I just think the trash situation is something that could definitely be improved.

This house was a great for a weekend stay at Massanutten! The hot tub and sauna was definitely a plus and the house looked exactly like the pictures.

We really enjoyed the home overall, especially the setup and location. The basement/game room was a huge hit with the kids and gave the parents a chance to sleep in a little while the children entertained themselves. The TVs in each bedroom were also a major plus, and the screened-in porch and hot tub quickly became our favorite spaces. With 6 children and 4 adults, having a washer and dryer was extremely convenient, and the loft area gave our teenagers their own space away from the younger kids. The Keurig was also appreciated for those early mornings! The location was perfect for us, being only about 5 minutes from Massanutten Water Park, which was the main event for our birthday celebration. The rodent issue did put a damper on the stay, but we do appreciate Kelly’s communication and responsiveness throughout our visit. Overall, we enjoyed the home and its layout. With some attention to the cleanliness and maintenance items, this could easily be a 5-star stay.

The home was in a great location. Easy access to everything. Game room was a great addition and being able to sit out back on the screen in porch was lovely to watch the wildlife and listen to the storm roll through. However, we were only provided with one trash bag and no sponge. The kitchen had some animal droppings in cabinets and under the dishwasher where it had been removed. We would have been more prepared had we known a some of the basics weren’t provided. Other than that, wasn’t a bad stay over all.

Thank you Kelly for updating the listing to now show that the community pool pass IS NOT included, as previously listed when we rented the home. Home very close to Massanutten Water Park. The hot tub was great. The dishwasher is not usable (Kelly so kindly had paper plates, etc., dropped off before we even got to the house). The kitchen cabinets are sticky to the touch, there were mouse droppings in almost all the drawers in the kitchen and even a mouse trap in a corner cabinet. The house needs a good deep cleaning. The screened porch is amazing, but the screens and siding are covered in grease from the grill. Kelly was quick to respond, however, not much was ever accomplished. We could not use the gas fire pit. Thank was missing. We were told we could lug the grill tank back and forth, when not grilling. Cleaners never dropped a tank off like we were told, so no smores. Sauna busted. Thanks for the "goodwill offer" by refunding a tiny portion of what we spent on renting the home.

This house was very nice - looked like the pictures. Hot tub and sauna were great & so was the basement of games! Kelly & her team were very responsive and accommodating to our needs. Kitchen had lots of cups and plates, pots and pans. Could use more towels in the bathrooms and closets but other than that - fun time with a fun deck to hang out on!

We had a great time exploring Shenandoah National Park during the long weekend! The house was a cozy refuge after hikes. Great communication from host. Thank you!

Well appointed home. A little dated, but cleaned up nicely. Many different areas of the home to relax and recharge. Back porch was a favorite spot for morning coffee and fresh air.

My family and I like to get away for weekends instead of exchanging Christmas gift! We know we love the Massenutten area so we looked for an Airbnb this time. We had a wonderful time and the home was a perfect fit for us!

While we had a few hiccups while we were there, Kelly and team were super responsive and able to figure out most of the problems. The place is nice, spacious, the hot tub was perfect. it was well stocked with utensils, pans, etc. the driveway was large enough for 4-5 vehicles. (including a large truck) the view overlooking the mountain was nice, it was quiet and peaceful.

Our group had a fantastic time at Kelly's place! We had 10 people and all were able to fit with no issues. We planned this trip around skiing and her place is right down the street, could not be more convenient. The hot tub and sauna were a great addition! Everything was very well decorated and clean. Would absolutely stay again!

We rent in Massanutten yearly and were very much looking forward to this stay. Unfortunately, it was deeply disappointing, especially given the cost and the host’s reassurance prior to arrival that the home was “cozy and ready.” Despite a 4:00 pm check-in, the driveway was still being cleared when we arrived at 5:30. Ice remained at the end of the driveway (requiring 4WD), walkways and steps were not cleared, and a large snowdrift blocked the front door. The only shovel available was broken. Several advertised amenities were inaccessible or unsafe. The fire pit was unusable, there was no safe pathway to the sauna or hot tub for small children, and the one time we accessed the hot tub, the water was green. The home was very cold, unable to rise above 62 degrees. The fireplace shown in photos is not operable for guests, which felt misleading. We had a great time- plenty of beds and seating for 7 adults. Teen and college-aged cousins watched sports on the big screen, played board games, and enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. Exactly the holiday weekend we wanted with family. It’s in the Massanutten resort so getting in and out was busy but the house was peaceful and quiet. Door Dash found us! Kelly was very responsive. Would stay again.

Kelly is a fantastic host who is incredibly kind and responsive! Her house is a lovely home about 20 minutes away from Shenandoah National Park. It is in a beautiful neighborhood that is quiet and has plenty of activities to do. 10 people were able to fit very comfortably, and all the amenities worked properly in the house. I would definitely recommend this house and Kelly as a host to anyone looking to stay near the Shenandoah Valley or just have a peaceful weekend getaway. Thank you, Kelly!

We stayed here as a group of eight to celebrate a birthday and had a great time. The area is beautiful, very clean, and feels safe, with plenty to do thanks to the resort setting. The community pool was a highlight, never crowded and very relaxing. The location is quiet and peaceful while still being close to restaurants, shops, and activities. The property itself was clean, well-equipped with amenities, and very comfortable. The host was kind, responsive, and made everything easy. Perfect spot for a getaway.

Kelly, our host was very responsive to all my requests. She was very polite and quite friendly. The issue was with the house and not the host. The AC was not working and took 2 days to fix, but she did get it fixed. Great location and very comfortable home once AC was fixed.

We came and stayed for my wife’s birthday game night weekend and we had an absolutely fabulous time! Great location great amenities.

Overall satisfied. There were some issues at check in which included a broken AC during a heat wave. The place was cleaned thoroughly but one bed had some sort of debris on it. The host was very responsive and the AC was fixed within 24hrs and we ended up washing the bed linens the same night as check in but the host did offer a full cleaning service the next morning which we declined. Would have given five star except for the hiccups at check in. The customer service was excellent.

Nice place, loved the game room and Sauna. We had an issue with the oven and stove not functioning, seems to be a reoccurring comment in the reviews.

Avoid this place. Total disaster from the time we walked in. Everything turned out to be not working. Hot tub was filled with yellow filthy water, basic amenities like cook stove not working, oven started giving smoke when turned on. The person who manages the property replies were like computer automated, with no human concern. We just stayed for 2 nights and the property manager it seems just waits for guests to tell what’s not working. They should have checked all this prior to check in. TV not working in one of the bedrooms. It seems the property manager doesn't’ take care of the place. The back sitting area which shows all nice pictures on the listing was filthy. Overall really bad experience and worst part of this is the owner or property management company doesn’t even care about it. Last guest left similar comments and we were already apprehensive. I suggest strongly to avoid staying at this property.

The house itself was beautiful with a lot of different activities to do within the house and around the area. My family and I had an amazing time and would return again. Kelly was quick to respond, kind and respectful. Thank you Kelly, for providing such great service and a fun house for a family of 5! That house has brought great memories for myself and the kiddos.

House was beautiful and location is perfect for skiing. There were some issues (non-functional oven/stove and sauna, areas of the house that hadn’t been cleaned well), but Kelly was overall responsive to our concerns.

Women’s Weekend Get Away Beautiful location and clean home. A few issues throughout our stay but the owner remained very communicative. The stove was nonfunctional at the start of our trip but that was partially resolved on our second day. The hot tub is great during the day, back outdoor lights don’t work so it is very dark at night. We were really looking forward to the sauna but unfortunately it didn’t work. The neighborhood and location is great, we made the best of our trip.

The house was absolutely adorable. Lots of character, very cozy & comfortable, and great amenities. When we reached out, Kelly was very responsive. Unfortunately both the microwave and the oven were not working and were not fixed during our three-night stay. This impacted our meals that we brought with us. If it weren’t for that, I would rate it 5 stars all around and would absolutely stay at this house again.

Tastefully decorated home with lots to offer - great porch, sauna, jacuzzi, and fire pit. Kids enjoyed playing games on the ground level, adults warmed up in the sauna. We came for a birthday weekend and had amazing time grilling on the porch, having family dinner and watching a movie. There is plenty of space to spread out. The resort has lots to offer if you want to ski, enjoy snow turning or ice skating. Our host Kelly was super responsive and helpful. Looking forward to another stay in the future!

We had a lovely weekend getaway in the house. It was the perfect spot to spend time with friends, and we really enjoyed the beautiful home, especially the hot tub. Kelly was incredibly responsive, promptly answering all my questions and ensuring a seamless experience. The location is great, right next to the resort, making it easy to enjoy fun winter activities.

Place was very cozy. Kelly was very accommodating and was always quick to answer any questions. There was great entertainment for adults and kids. Plenty of room for everyone and a lot to offer. There was so much to do at the home that we didn’t even get time to do it all.

We LOVED Kelly’s place! You can tell this home has been recently updated, and all the details are lovely! The decor is modern, yet oh so cozy and fun. Our family loved sitting around the fire at night, but also loved getting in the hot tub and sauna after a fun day of snowboarding. The slopes are so close by; it’s the perfect location. We also spent an evening at the water park, which was rather fun and also right down the road. The screened-in back porch is the CUTEST, and even though there was snow covering the ground (so stunning), we really enjoyed being out there… it made us want to come back in the warmer season to just relax or go hiking. All the bedrooms are wonderful and the loft was one of my favorite areas; such a cute nook with an electric wood burning stove that I wanted to bring home with me. The house also includes a super fun room downstairs for kids to hang out in and play games or watch TV. Overall, we were so stoked, and will definitely be returning in the future!!
