About this property

This modern mountain chalet sits five miles from Hunter and Windham Mountains, with three levels of decks, sweeping mountain and lake views, and a hot tub out back. Three bedrooms and three baths sleep up to 6 guests, and a lower level game room with foosball and arcade games, plus a fire pit patio, keeps the fun going after the slopes close. Stairs lead down to a lakeside seating area for morning coffee or evening stars.

Timberline House is a secluded modern mountain chalet tucked into the woods just five miles from both Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain. This getaway is built for ski season and every season after it.

Enter on the main level, where all three bedrooms are tucked away for privacy and quiet. Two of the bedrooms feature king beds, and the third offers a queen, so there's a comfortable fit for couples, a family, or a group of friends meeting up for the weekend. One of the king rooms and the queen room both open directly onto the main level deck, a nice spot for morning coffee with a view. A full bathroom on this level keeps mornings easy.

Head upstairs where the living room, dining room, and kitchen open into one another beneath sweeping mountain and lake views. A second full bathroom sits on this level too. Step out onto the deck off the dining room, where a grill and seating make it easy to cook dinner while the light shifts over the ridgeline.

Downstairs, the lower level is built for game nights and rainy afternoons, with a foosball table, an electronic arcade game featuring lots of classic games, darts, laundry, and a third full bathroom. The patio just off this room has a fire pit, and just beyond it, a hot tub waits under the stars. From here, stairs wind down to a lakeside seating area, a peaceful spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine by the water, the perfect spot to sit and take in the view.

With decks on all three levels, Timberline House is designed to make the most of its setting, whether you're taking in mountain views at sunrise, grilling out after a day on the trails, or soaking in the hot tub once the slopes close for the night. We can't wait to welcome you.

The area

Jewett sits right in the heart of the Catskills, five miles from both Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain, making Hunter House an easy year round base for skiing, riding, and mountain biking. Hunter Mountain hosts summer festivals like its German Alps Festival and fall foliage weekends on the SkyRide, while Windham Mountain Club offers golf and tennis in the warmer months and spa days for year round pampering. Just down the road, Tannersville's Main Street is lined with cafes, galleries, and restaurants, and the village of Hunter has breweries and shops of its own. Outdoor lovers can chase waterfalls at Kaaterskill Falls, hike the Escarpment Trail or Devil's Path, and swim at North South Lake Campground nearby. Whether it's a powder day, a summer hike, or a quiet fall weekend watching the leaves change, this corner of the Catskills has something worth exploring in every season.

Timberline House is less than 3 hours from New York City and guests should plan to travel around by car as it is a rural area with limited public transportation. The main routes to access the town are the New York State Thruway (I-87) to 23A through Hunter to NY-296 N.

In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
