About this property

Dutch on Depot is a charming Catskills farmhouse in Andes, New York, about 3 hours from NYC and steps from Main Street. This three bedroom, two bath home sleeps up to six across a king, queen, and full bed, all upstairs. The kitchen features an antique built-in hutch and stone sink, original 1930s fixtures from the set of Boardwalk Empire, plus a wood stove for cozy evenings. Enjoy the firepit and grill in the fenced-in backyard. Nearby towns: Margaretville (12 mins), Delhi (20 mins).

Welcome to Dutch on Depot, a cozy Catskills farmhouse in Andes, New York, just steps from everything on Main Street. This rare, walkable, yet peaceful Catskills getaway welcomes you in. From the moment you arrive, the home's farmhouse charm and quiet setting set the tone for a relaxing stay.

Inside, the sun soaked living room features a large and ultra comfortable sectional couch made for long chats, naps, and watching movies. The sitting room on the other side has an exquisite wood stove to keep the living space warm and welcoming on those cool mountain evenings. This room also has several armchairs placed near the windows for enjoying a book, and a bookshelf with a variety of reading materials to choose from. A desk in this room also provides a place to work remotely and extend your stay.

Next to the sitting room is the kitchen. A fully stocked and thoughtfully decorated space, this kitchen allows you to prepare whatever your heart desires. With plenty of counter space and a large island, family and friends can gather around and cook together. The heart of the home, this room is anchored by an antique built-in hutch and a beautiful stone sink. Both of these pieces are original, period-appropriate 1930s fixtures salvaged from the set of HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

Upstairs, you'll find all three bedrooms: a king, a queen, and a full, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The upstairs bathroom features a shower/tub combo, while a second full bathroom with a standing shower is conveniently located downstairs.

Outside, start your morning with coffee on the charming front porch and watch the town wake up. Later in the day, the fenced-in backyard is made for play and easy evenings, with a fire pit for gathering under the stars and a grill ready for a backyard cookout. With the village just steps away, you can leave the car parked and walk to it all. We can't wait to welcome you to Dutch on Depot.

The area

Andes is one of the Catskills' most picturesque hamlets, a walkable village with a genuine small town feel. Guests can walk to it all: the Andes Hotel's tavern and weekend events, Cafe Mutsi's daytime bakery, Andes General Store for coffee, delicious sandwiches, and quick groceries, and local hangouts Dana's Place and Wayside Cider. The town pool is open to everyone each summer from noon to 7pm. Right from the house, the Andes Rail Trail and longer Bullet Hole Spur offer easy hiking, with Palmer Hill's meadow trails on the other side of town. A short drive brings guests to Bovina's Brushland Eating House and Bovina Farm & Fermentory, Magpie's pies in Delancey, and Cafe Mornings in Arkville, while the Pepacton Reservoir offers fishing and scenic drives, and Plattekill and Belleayre mountains bring skiing in winter. Delhi rounds things out with the region's best Wednesday farmer's market and a strip of local shops, making Andes a destination worth exploring in every season.

Dutch on Depot is about 3 hours from New York City and guests should plan to travel around by car as it is a rural area with limited public transportation. The main routes to access the town are NY-17W to NY-30N or the NY State Thruway (I-87N) to NY-28W.

In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.

Notes from your host

Window a/c units in all bedrooms.

There is no cell service in Andes. Guests should enable wifi calling on their phones to use while in the house/local businesses. Make sure to download offline maps so that you have access to GPS while driving through rural areas without service.

“Amazing house and great location - short walk to town and easy highway access to surrounding towns. Host extremely responsive and friendly. Lots of room for my family, and we felt at home. One of our favorite Airbnb’s of all time!”

“This home was beautiful, had everything you could ask for in a home, and was perfectly located in the heart of Andes. There are beautiful hikes nearby (one of which I proposed to my girlfriend on ) offer a beautiful backdrop of upstate fall foliage. Highly recommend, and we plan on returning! Thank you for letting us stay!”
