About this property

Balboa Village begins at the door of Harbor Retreat. Walk out for coffee beside the harbor, catch the ferry to Balboa Island, cross the Peninsula to the beach, or join a harbor cruise without moving the car. Back at the private guest apartment, a full kitchen, King bedroom, Queen Murphy bed in the loft, air conditioning, and covered parking give up to four guests a comfortable place to reset between adventures.

Harbor Retreat is for travelers who want Newport Beach to happen beyond the door. This private upper-level apartment sits in Balboa Village, placing the ferry, Fun Zone, harbor excursions, restaurants, and Pacific beach within walking distance.

Inside, the kitchen and living area give couples, small families, or friends a place to begin the morning and reconnect between plans. Prepare breakfast before the beach, return for lunch between outings, or leave the cooking behind and walk to dinner along the waterfront.

The enclosed bedroom provides a King bed, while a spiral staircase leads to a loft with a Queen Murphy bed. The arrangement gives up to four guests two distinct sleeping areas within a compact property.

Harbor Retreat accommodates up to four guests:
Primary bedroom: King bed and ensuite full bathroom
Loft: Queen Murphy bed accessed by a spiral staircase

The property has one full bathroom, located ensuite to the primary bedroom. Guests sleeping in the loft must pass through the bedroom to reach it.

A furnished balcony creates a place to step outside with coffee or take a break between time around the Peninsula. Air conditioning, a full kitchen, laundry, and one covered parking space support longer stays as well as quick visits.

The area

Harbor Retreat sits in Balboa Village, where the harbor, ferry, beach, dining, and water activities fit within a walkable section of the Newport Beach Peninsula.

The Balboa Fun Zone, Balboa Ferry, Balboa Pier, restaurants, cafes, shops, harbor cruises, fishing charters, and boat rentals are nearby. The Pacific beach is a short walk across the Peninsula, allowing a day to move from coffee beside the harbor to time on the sand and dinner near the waterfront.

The ferry carries pedestrians, bicycles, and vehicles across Newport Harbor to Balboa Island. What begins as transportation becomes part of the day, with the island's shops, restaurants, and waterfront paths waiting on the other side.

Balboa Village remains active through the day and evening. Harbor traffic, ferry activity, waterfront dining, and visitors create the energy that makes the neighborhood engaging and walkable.

Harbor Retreat allows many guests to park when they arrive and explore Balboa Village on foot. Walking and bicycling work well for reaching the beach, ferry, Fun Zone, pier, restaurants, and harbor activities.

The Balboa Ferry connects the neighborhood with Balboa Island, while rideshare services and taxis are available for destinations throughout Newport Beach and Orange County.

One covered carport parking space is included. Oversized vehicles may not fit within the designated space.

John Wayne Airport is approximately 20 minutes away under typical traffic conditions. Travel time can vary with traffic.

Your Arrival Getaways Boarding Pass includes our Transportation Guidebook with recommendations for airport transfers, rental cars, rideshare services, and local transportation.

“Great location with the harbor out front and the beach a short walk across the street!”

“A great spot adjacent to the Balboa Fun zone. The parking space is a plus. Also sitting on the dock by the bay is awesome! The negatives are minor but need to be referenced: there was no aluminum foil or saran wrap, one roll of toilet paper for a 3 night stay and the pots didn't have lids. Would I stay again - ABSOLUTELY!”

“The property was clean and well appointed. It was a great location, centrally located to lots of fun activities. We had a couple of issues come up and the property manager quickly addressed them. The parking would be best with a smaller vehicle. If we’re back in the area, we would definitely consider a return stay.”
