Very Good We returned to Whistling Oyster this year. First time we have repeated a stay from the previous year. We love the location! On the beach!! Unfortunately, beach erosion took away much of the sand and access to the back deck. This is where the outdoor shower and hose are to clean off the beach before accessing the home. We made the most of the inconvenience.

Excellent We had a wonderful stay again this year at Whistling Oyster on our family vacation. The house was excellent. It was very clean. The views and access to the beach can’t be beat. The only minor issue we had was with the trash service. It didn’t take not pick up all week. However the Realty Company was apologetic and maintenance picked it up once for us to take to the company’s dumpster.

Very Good Had a issue with the trash, when we got there the can was full from the people who had left. And the garbage was still there when we got there. Didn't pick up until Tuesday. Hated I had to leave trash on porch. Got stuck in the sand in driveway but they did come out and scrape it. Other than they we had a great time.

Family Vacation Reunion The Whistling Oyster allowed my family to reunite and make such special memories. We were able to enjoy sensational views of ocean and sound. With the beach literally being a step off of the many decks, my family created memories that will truly last a lifetime. The house was spacious enough we could all gather together for meals and games but yet have special down time one on one moments. My youngest became engaged in the last night and wishes to return for wedding,reception. Such a special and memorable much needed vacation. Well worth the cost. My family will be back.

Excellent beach house We loved the location of the house. We also loved being able to walk outside and we were on the beach. One of our favorite features was the decks we could use to relax but still be able to watch the teenagers on the beach.

Amazing Views Thank you for sharing your home! Such amazing ocean views!! Definitely will be back. Beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Kitchen was fully stocked and we LOVED the ice maker

Very Good The location of the house is the best. However, being that close to the water, the sand blows a lot and driveways are full of sand. To get to the front door, there is a foot deep of sand. It’s not easy. The house is very clean and well laid out. However, they need to get rid of carpet. It’s old and their vacuum cleaners don’t work on sand nor the carpet. The location is worth it all.

Loved it!!! Very clean!!!! Bathrooms were prestine. There was a film of the “wipe down” from. Housekeeping. But we brought wipes to make us feel good. Other than that.. we had a few palmetto bugs show up , but we made the best of it!!!

Ocean front Great house as close as it gets to the water! Loved the location, the lay out of the house, and the amenities. Resort Realty had the driveway cleared after we arrived and so no issues with sand and access. Opportunity for improvement, remove carpet and go back with hard flooring. Carpets had musty/pet smell when we first checked in. Otherwise great house and we will stay again.

Great views House was well taken care of and has gorgeous views of the beach from all levels and most bedrooms. We were very happy with the house and its location and proximity to the beach very convenient. The driveway was a little small but they did remove any excess sand while we were staying there. As previously noted in a review it does seem that people from houses behind can congregate a little around the house but it was not significant or a problem. Overall our stay was fantastic. I absolutely loved the house and the beach down in Rodanthe. I thought this beach was more family friendly and much less busy than in nags head.

Beautiful View The location is wonderful. You walk out the door and you are at the water. Unfortunately, many of the homes around are very damaged and have no beach in front of them so other beach goers use the area around this house to enjoy the ocean. The house itself is older but clean. Be sure to bring your own essentials like any cleaning sprays, trash bags, dishwasher soap, salt/pepper, paper towels and toilet paper. We love the beach and ocean, so it was perfect for us.
