Perfection on the beach!
We loved staying at Dolphins & Dunes. The home was well-appointed and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The mattresses were top notch, which makes a world of difference in a good night’s rest.<br />
The views. Ahhhhh the views were out of this world.
Very Good
The internet was an issue at times, We had a great time..
Wonderful Vacation
House was as described online. Views were amazing and house was well kept up. We always make a view dinners and breakfasts and was nice to have the needed pots/pans and they were in good condition. Rooms were well decorated and spacious. A family member especially enjoyed the sea turtle theme! Other family members loved the arcade game!
Everything was perfect!
We spent a glorious week at the beach with our son and his family, making memories as fast as we could!
Great home
Loved the location and ocean-facing upper deck! Well-outfitted house with plenty of room for our family of four. Only drawback was internet. One of us was working while here and it was frustrating to have the wifi dropout periodically.
dolphins and dunes
Great location, beuatiful oce Great location with wonderful ocean deck! Living area extremely comfortable and kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils. The mattress upstairs in the king bedroom needs replacing ,very squeaky and uncomfortable. Other than that loved the house and would rent it again!
Dolphins and Dunes
Lovely home. Well appointed with beautiful ocean views. Close proximity to restaurants, shopping and Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. A Nags Head rental favorite.
Fantastic place with amazing views!
Our family of four loved our stay at Dolphins & Dunes! The ocean view is spectacular and you could not be any closer to the beach, which makes going back and forth convenient. The ocean front balcony is phenomenal for watching the sunrise or just relaxing in the evening while you watch the waves and feel the ocean breeze. We all slept very well and found the beds were comfortable and worked nicely for our different preferences, with two mattresses being a little firm and one a bit softer (we did not use the twin beds or day bed). We cooked quite a few meals in and found the kitchen to be well equipped with pots, pans and utensils. There is a newer dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee maker and Keurig. We did not use the TV, but enjoyed playing the “Multicade” Arcade Machine upstairs. The house was very clean and we appreciated the wall of windows that provided a clear view of the ocean. Loved the design sense and decor throughout. Although it's a bit older, the house is well maintained and had very nice furniture that was comfortable to relax. We enjoyed the large table we could sit at for meals and take in the view as part of the open plan living. Linens were provided as well as some starter soap and toilet paper, but be sure to bring extra or pick it up at the store. We enjoyed shopping at the Fresh Market (less than 10 minutes away) for the nice selection of organic options and other specialty items. We also rented a sunshade and beach chairs from Vayk Gear and it was worth having it dropped off. We had some amazing food and recommend Blue Moon, Colington Cafe, Tortugas Lie, Hatteras Sol, and Booty Treats for delicious ice cream. We explored north and south from Hatteras to Corolla, where we had an amazing experience taking an off-road tour in an open-air hummer to view some of the wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks (only remaining wild herd left in the world). Having done that we confirmed South Nags Head was our top place to stay. Soaking up the sun, swimming in the ocean, feeling the sand between our toes, skim boarding, shell collecting, watching all the ghost crabs scurrying across the sand, visiting historic sites, enjoying outstanding seafood, and doing some local shopping made for the perfect week away creating memories together. It was a fantastic family vacation and we look forward to coming back!
