We would not hesitate to rent this place again!! The place was immaculately clean. The home was full of everything you needed. Beautifully decorated. You do not see that a lot in rentals. Spacious and secluded. The home is just as described. Perfect for family time. Highly recommend!
This property was perfect for our family group. Large, open layout, clean, beautiful property. Owner was very responsive to my questions and very kind. Thank you for a great stay.
The house was clean. However, it was well worn and dated. The game room was disappointing as everything was worn and very small. The ping pong table was miniature and the space was small and away from the main house. The biggest surprise was the entry road. Thank goodness we came in trucks with 4 wheel drive as the road was really hard to navigate. Going out for supplies was a challenge. However, the host was very responsive and accommodating and we enjoyed our stay.
Good house! Our large group had a fantastic time. The host was responsive. Only minor complaint was the WiFi speed.
We had a great time, the property is a great secluded Appalachian getaway!
The pictures were very old showing a clean fully functioning property. What I got was a tired rundown home. The pictures and written descriptions were FALSE advertisement. The pool table was miniature not “full size” we had 3 disappointed guys. The game room was extremely moldy smelling couldn’t have safely used it anyway. There was a machine in there to fix the smell but it did not help. There was not a gas stove as pictured. We bring our own cooking utensils and cast iron when we vacation what we got was a tired filthy flat top stove. The hot tub had an oily surface on top and globs of slime floating. The hammock and the seats on ground level were covered in green mold and unusable. The steps were treacherous with the centers being washed out from the concrete foundations. The dryer did not work so we couldn’t do our laundry. The remote to the TV downstairs did not work. Contacting the owner via a phone number she gave me was useless. No one addressed any of the issues. When I contacted owner from VRBO website I got run around about can I send pictures am I sure.... as no one else has complained etc… All the owner did was send a new remote on our last day. I have all the pictures to document everything I have said, and of course, I’ve kept a copy of all my conversations with the owner. We rented this property specifically because of the amenities pictured and listed. Unfortunately none of the amenities that were shown were useable. I consider this false advertisement.
The house had plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and two toddlers. Kelly was very easy to reach and answered all of my questions and concerns very quickly. The house was very clean. Some parts of the property are a bit dated and can use some maintenance or updating--nothing major though. We enjoyed the hot tub and the game room. The road to get to the house was definitely challenging. My truck was in 4wd at all times to get to the house. Be respectful of the locals as you drive back and forth to the house. Downtown Asheville was just 30 minutes away and there are good hiking trails within that distance also.
This property was one of the most disappointing rental experiences we have ever had.
The moment we entered the house, we were hit with a strong stale odor throughout the property. The photos in the listing do not reflect reality at all — the expectation versus reality was completely different.
Everything outside was extremely dirty and clearly not maintained: dust, dirt, leaves everywhere, bird droppings covering the outdoor furniture and jacuzzi area. The jacuzzi itself contained dirty, foul-smelling water with sand inside.
Inside the house, the situation was even worse. The dishes were dirty, the carpets had visible animal stains, and the blankets were covered in other people’s hair and stains. Towels and bed linens also appeared dirty and unwashed.
The rug near the bed was folded and uneven, causing multiple people to trip over it. In the third-floor bathroom, pieces of the ceiling were literally falling down onto our heads while using the bathroom.
Most of the wooden furniture, both inside and outside, is heavily worn out and should honestly be replaced. Some furniture pieces are unstable, damaged, or literally falling apart. The refrigerator was dirty, the windows throughout the house were filthy, and there was dust and spider webs everywhere. The house was clearly not prepared for guests.
Another serious issue was the neighboring dog. As soon as we got out of the car, the dog ran out aggressively and rushed toward us, which was frightening and completely unaccepta
It was a great place to stay, was stocked well with the essentials and more than enough space. The road up to the cabin in gravel and bumpy, as explained in the listing but worth it once you get up to the house and see the gorgeous view from the deck! We would stay again!
The property was accommodating to our group size and had a very beautiful view! Communication prior to our visit could have been key but instead there was some stress on our trip due to a broken oven that was not communicated prior to arrival. The host did refund us 1 night stay to make it right but all could have been avoided if there was just more communication so meals could have been rearranged since we planned on cooking our entire stay.
Older pictures, property is not as nice at it look in the listing. There were mice in the house and the oven was broken. Property management company was responsive and sent someone out to put down traps and fix the oven. We saw traps but the over never worked. Over all we had a good trip but that is because it was just a guys trip. If the wives had been there it would have been a different story.
The house is definitely up in the mountains but had excellent accommodations, fit our large party comfortably, had plenty of space to hang out during the day & was in a great location to explore nearby towns. No complaints!
My friends and I had a great time at this house! Everything was clean and in working order! Would definitely recommend to anyone for a cabin trip!
Overall the house had plenty of space for our family with good amenities like the game room. The nightly cost was high however, and the home didn’t quite measure up to the cost.
While the home was in the woods, it’s understandable to have some bugs here and there, but we killed 10+ large stink bugs upstairs, one of which was under the covers of the bed.
The hot tub was cloudy and unclean appearing so no one in our group even went in.
Happy for our time in the mountains w family, but honestly probably won’t stay again. For us, this house just wasn’t worth the cost.
Great stay!
The house looks nothing like the photos. It probably did at one point but it appeared to be partied hard in, broken furniture and previously flooded basement with smells of mold/ mildew. The fridge wasn’t plugged in when we arrived and our groceries just had to sit and spoil while we plugged in and waited for it to cool. The dishes had leftover food and grease in them. There were electrical issues with the kitchen light. Bathroom ceiling was broken. The host would respond every time I reached out and would offer to send someone to fix the problems however there is only so much you can do with a flooded basement.. I also believe this host is AI and never felt like I spoke to a real person. We ended up leaving early and requested a partial refund which was given to us and I appreciate that very much. This place has lots of potential but needs work and a more honest posting with updated pics and prices.
