Great house for 16 adults! Wonderful stay for a large group! We had a game night and a drunken spelling bee night! We had a bonfire on the beach and got to witness the moon eclipse! We had wonderful weather with only rain on one day! My only complaint was the main refrigerator on the top level was not holding temperature. We had to move food down to first floor refrigerator 2 different times. There was enough room for all 16 adults. Will definitely be back for another family vacation in the future!
Another great week in South Nags Head! This house has everything we needed for an awesome week in our happy place! Great rooms/spaces, nice mattresses, and perfect views! (The wifi worked great for us.) We would definitely rent this house again!

Excellent WiFi isn’t very good, however on the flip side it made the kids interact and made for a great family vacation
My family very much enjoyed this spacious, beautiful home. It had phenomenal views of the ocean and the location was perfect. My daughter and my twin, 1 year old grandchildren were on this family vacation and let me say that this home had everything we needed including baby gates, an extra play pen, and two high chairs. The house was loaded with everything you should ever need. We had a wonderful stay!
Excellent Great home for the 14 of us! Basically all we need to have a wonderful vacation. Nice to have a kitchen with all the essentials and then some. Only downside we have is the walk to the beach. For some of us “older” people it is pretty difficult walking in the deep sand and up the dune hill. But other than that we will be coming back next year for more fun in the sun!!
Great spot Clean, comfy and large. Plenty of room for 8 adult women to get away but still have their own space. The home was well stocked with everything you could need to cook at home if you wish. Proximity to the beach is everything. Pool and hot tub were lovely extras. We went during the off season, so I imagine neighbors would feel a little close during busy times if that is an issue for you.

Nice property with great location This property served our extended family (4 cousins + families: 16 people = 7 parents, 5 college-age, 2 high school, 1 middle, 1 elem) very well. Beachfront + pool onsite + nearby ropes course, mini golf, go-carts, aquarium, Wright Bros, Jockey Ridge, shopping allowed everyone to create the sun-filled day of their choosing. Plenty of space to relax at night with big open area upstairs and game room downstairs + 2 large decks. Bonuses = 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators (one on pool level), ice maker, game room, gas grill (also had charcoal), new decking front and top deck. Owners clearly take very good care of this property - very well-maintained. Suggestions for improvement: higher speed internet and range in the home, mattresses (super soft and all seemed peaked in the middle).
Southern Comfort I June 2023 My family and I have stayed in this home for the last five years or so. Recent updates to flooring, beds, outdoor lighting made us very happy and comfortable. We’ve already reserved the property for 2024!
Always feel at home at Southern Comfort I Absolutely love the location of this house. And the amount of space and rooms is perfect for our extended family. Just reserved our week for June 2023 which will be our 6th year in a row.
Excellent with minor issues After many family stays in OBX, this has been our favorite rental location. Close to needed amenities, excellent beach access/views and abundant birds/dolphins/sea-life. The house is nicely designed for a large group with lots of recreational options for a range of ages. Some of furniture is well worn and could be more comfortable if replaced (several mattresses and chairs). However, this will not stop us from more stays at Southern Comfort!
Great family house! Perfect location! Great house! Perfect location and set up! Nags Head is our favorite town to stay in and this is the perfect house for a stay!

Three families loved this house!
This was our 3rd stay at Southern Comfort I. And we’ll be reserving it for next June. The home is very well appointed, homey, and spacious. The highlight for my family is the size of the pool and pool deck. We also appreciate the location very much. Can’t go wrong beach front with private walkway to the beach.
Great Family Beach House This house is awesome. Steps from the beach, private pool, fully equipped kitchen, equipped with extras like baby cribs, baby gates and high chairs, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, linens and towels provided, with early check-in. The Owners care about the property and their guests, and it shows!
Easter on the beach! My family and I enjoyed your well appointed home for Easter and spring break. The weather was gorgeous and the home has every thing we could possibly have needed. It was perfect.
Maintenance/Housekeeping was great! The maintenance guy was great, had a back up in the middle floor bathroom. He was johnny on the spot, no pun intended, and the housekeeping people did a great quick clean up.
Excellent The space and provisions of the home were excellent. The bedding and rooms were very comfortable. Loved the size of the pool. That and the game room were well used by all. Will definitely reserve this house for next summer.
