Very comfortable This place is very well taken care of and we enjoyed our visit. I do wish that pictures were updated to reflect that the beach and surf cannot be viewed from the deck as shown. I know very well that dunes change with time but the pictures are very old. We are older and were disappointed with our views. The dune access to the beach was more than we could accomplish. We would rent again but with different expectations.
So close to the beach Loved this house! So close to the beach, views galore, and so private; a house to the right and dunes to the left. The beach wasn’t crowded, and the quick 5-second walk to the beach was quick and easy. The house isn’t fancy or big, but it had everything you need for a beach trip. The kitchen is fully stocked, had a table that was great for meals and games, and all the cooking utensils, appliances and pots/pans we needed. The two “suites” on each side of the house fit us perfectly, loved the separate AC units/controls. Great location too, lots to walk to! We’ll be back!
Perfect beach house This is our second summer at Once Upon A Tide. This is the perfect beach house for anyone looking to spend most of their time on the sand and in the surf. Wonderful deck looking over a dune garden and onto the waves--you can have your morning coffee there or walk a few steps further onto the beach itself. Very thoughtfully organized and equipped with plenty of room for family and friends. We will be back again!
Everything was perfect We’ve been vacationing in the Outer Banks for several years now and it’s our favorite place to be a family. We love staying in a house on the beach and waking up to the sunrise every morning and spending our days out on the sand.

The perfect beach house We've stayed in many properties on the OBX in the last 15+ years, and this may be our favorite. Perfect location, lovely dunes, ocean steps away. The house is charmingly decorated and well equipped. Everything we needed and nothing to distract from our immersion in the beauty of the place. Very comfortably furnished and well organized. Can't imagine how it could've been better!
