The beach house
We really loved staying at this house! It was so beautifully decorated and organized. The owners thought of Everything you could possibly need! The kitchen was incredibly stocked!
Everything was great! We have already reserved it for next year!
A Pleasant-Enough Stay, But Not Sure We'll Be Back
Starfish Starlight was very well kept, and it was clear that great effort went into making the home feel welcoming and full. The house had a few quirks that could be improved, but overall we greatly enjoyed our stay. Nevertheless, we likely won't be back, as we had just a few too many cons outweigh the pros in our case. (In no special order ...)

1. The hot tub, the staple amenity of this house, didn't maintain temperature well at all if more than 1 person was in it at a time - thus defeating the purpose. It would take a full day to heat to a desirable 100-101 degrees, and if 2 or more people got in at a time, it would almost immediately dip below 98. Much more of a lukewarm tub than a hot tub. Additionally, the lighting set around the tub was solar-powered and, due to the cloudy nature of the week, did not turn on or stay on for more than about 30 seconds per day. A big bummer.

2. The prickly pin-shaped weed things all over the outer areas of the house were a HUGE inconvenience and created truly unnecessary tension and frustration for anyone trying to be outside - with or without shoes on. Every single person in our family ended up stepping on them, with great pain inflicted each time. This was probably the worst thing about the house, because even with shoes on, they still managed to find their way into our feet. And they freakin' hurt. Very displeasurable and not at all an experience I would want to repeat multiple times a day.

3. The house was MUCH more well-stocked than we were led to believe in our booking and packing suggestion documentation - leading us to OVERpack a LOT of unnecessary items for our trip. From board games to kitchen utensils and appliances to beach items, the house was so well stocked that it created frustration about the extra time, money, and effort taken to procure things we supposedly needed for our week's vacation - which turned out not to be true. This is ultimately the fault of the realty company for not being thoughtful enough to be SPECIFIC about what needs to be brought to each house individually, rather than sending a blanket email. It's an easily avoidable frustration that could be remedied with a more thoughtful and intentional realty company managing the house.

4. The inconsistent flow of air in the house became frustrating by day 4. Blazing hot upstairs, freezing downstairs. Thank God for the fans provided. They helped greatly.

5. The flow of noise throughout the house is less than desirable. If one person is up and in the living room or kitchen, everyone may as well be. This is a flaw in the open-concept design of the house, but it kept many of our lazier attendees from sleeping in because of the flow of sound around the house.

6. Perhaps the most frustrating thing about the house was how the daybed is advertised to be part of a "loft" rather than just a bed stuck at the end of the hallway, from which all the other bedrooms branch off. This was immensely disappointing to discover for both myself, as the planner of this trip, and the adult who was unfortunate enough to have to sleep on the bed in an exposed section of the house with literally no privacy at all the whole trip. To advertise that bed as part of a "loft", which is most fairly denoted with a fully separate/private space above the rest of the house, rather than what it actually is and where it actually is, created issues that could have been avoided if the house was properly advertised.

7. Get a proper stand for the basketball hoop. Playing basketball requires full permission from the house members, as the backboard is fastened to the deck, causing the house to shake like that cup of water in Jurassic Park when the ball doesn't make it into the hoop.

Things the house did well for us: rooms were spacious, towels and sheets were clean, bathrooms all worked, kitchen was so well stocked!, porches were well maintained (no splinters), and we loved the location. Close enough to the beach to walk there quickly, but far enough that we didn't experience any excessive noise from rowdy beach-goers. Wish the internet didn't have a wall behind the password. It made connecting devices much more difficult, especially streaming sticks brought into the living room.

Overall, I'd rate it a 7/10 experience. But we'll probably look for a new property for our next trip.
Excellent
This cottage was perfect for our 2 families! Loved having the hot tub and it was a short walk to the beach!
Starfish Starlight
The house was absolutely beautiful; the location and beach access was perfect. I have never had a rental with so many kitchen accessories and equipment on hand, we had everything imaginable that was needed. It was obvious that this house is well built and cared for. The only thing I wish we would have had was a swimming pool. Our Grandchildren just love the beach and was there every single minute that the adults would be available to go with them (the beach heat and current tide conditions dictated that). We have absolutely no complaints or reason to not look into this particular unit in the future. Thank you, Resort Reality!
Starfish Starlight Review
This was our 2nd stay here. The location is great with easy beach access. The lift makes unloading and packing up easy and the parking is great. The street is very quiet with half of the houses being permanent residents. The house next door is under construction but the owner is doing work slowly so there is no construction noise. Beds are comfortable and the AC works well. The showers have good water pressure. The furnishings are all nice, nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable and newer. Overall, the house is well appointed with a very good layout.
Great House
This is a great house! Lots of room to spread out. We loved the decks and kitchen was enormous. Easy walk to the beach. Loved that we could have a long ride on our bikes straight down Lindbergh.
