Welcoming, comfortable home
The house is very “homey” and comfortable, as well as very clean compared to other homes we’ve rented. Plenty of room for our group of nine. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the extra comforters and blankets were a bonus! The location was perfect as far as proximity to grocery stores and the beach. One issue we had was that the advertised close beach access was closed for repairs. However, Debbie, the Resort Realty property manager stayed on top of the issue and the access was opened for the last three days of our stay.
Southern Shores Fun
The house is dated but was very clean. There are plenty of dishes, pots, pans and silverware. I stayed in the bedroom on the top floor and the bed was very comfortable. The beach access across the street was being replaced so we used the access a few doors down at the red light. That access has a ramp so we could take the cart full beach supplies. There is a nice walking trail down by 61 Ocean Blvd. There were turtles that the children fed lettuce and strawberries! It was our first trip to OBX and we loved it! Southern Shores is more quiet than Duck and Corolla. If you want to walk to shops, don’t stay in SS. We liked that the beach was not as crowded! I would suggest that the owner replace the carpet… especially off the pool deck.

My family loved this house. We are going to need a bigger house next year or we would definitely love renting this house again.

Great location, clean and well stocked. If I had to change one thing it would be the traffic on the road out front, but all and all and excellent experience.
Our first trip to OBX
We had a fantastic trip! The house was great. Only thing I would change is water pressure in 2nd floor bathroom & out door shower. Other than that. Everything was great!!!
