Blue Heron We had a great week at the beach. This was our second year in this house.The house was well equipped and clean. We really appreciate that it is set up for young children with the gate at top of stairs and a high chair. Our only recommendation would be that the mattress on the bottom bunk bed was very uncomfortable and may need to be looked at and possibly replaced. We needed to pull out the trundle bed to sleep on instead since the bottom bunk mattress was so uncomfortable. The cleaners hadn't left any sheets for that mattress/bed. Other than that, the house was great.

Very Good Blue Heron is a great house! We were surprised by all of the fun extras that this had( corn hole, boogie boards, bikes) It really felt like a family home that has been open to guests.

Blue Heron never disappoints The Blue Heron never disappoints. This is our 5th year renting this house -- 3rd house from beach, a nice relaxing pool, and hot tub. The house has a well equipped kitchen for all the things you'll need to prepare a meal. Lots of seating for meals. Beds are comfortable. We had trouble with the hot tub filters, where they were not filtering the water (they were clogged). We called 2x and they put the filters back in that were "clogged" and never responded to our issue. Otherwise it was a great time.

Spacious home, great location Our extended family of 9 found this house to have everything we needed, with more than enough space in bedrooms, at the dining table, and in the kitchen. The location was great with easy walking access to everything in Duck, and partial ocean views from the deck. After multiple rentals up and down the Outer Banks over the years, this is the only house we've stayed in that we would definitely rent again. The only real downside is the small size of the pool, which got crowded with a few small kids

Great Location/Family Friendly The Blue Heron is located in a very nice and quiet subdivision, mere steps from the beach access and within walking distance to many establishments. We had no issues throughout our week-long stay. The house had ample kitchen supplies, games, puzzles, pool floats, and some sand toys and beach chairs. The house had ample space and restrooms for a large family, although we did not use the second floor. The pool area is very nice, it was our toddlers favorite place to be. While most surface areas and bathrooms were clean, it is not a sparkling-clean place. The house is quite dated, the deck is old, and the walls are rather dirty (it is so obvious because all the walls are white). Therefore, it could be considered the perfect place to stay with kids, as a dirty handprint here and there would likely blend in. We had a great time at Blue Heron and look forward to staying there again in the future. Things to note: there are no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms (we picked up a standing fan at Wal-Mart), no tv in the 3rd floor master bedroom, and no lights in the pool area (can see decently after dark with the second floor deck lights on but, in my opinion, not well enough to safely supervise children in the pool).

Well equipped house, one row back from beach, pool and hottub This home has a well equipped kitchen, decks have lots of seating, great hot tub, pool is wonderful addition, lower level refrigerator, charcoal grill and is in walking distance to everything duck.

Blue Heron Thank you to the homeowners for sharing your home with us. We loved the home. Best kitchen selection of pots, pans etc.. Loved how close to the beach it was. We liked it so much we have rented it for next year. And the stair chair did not bother us at all. My dad had one so we are used to it. Thank you again.❤️

Great place to stay! The Blue Heron was the perfect rental for our family. It had all the amenities we were looking for in a vacation rental and the price point was perfect! I loved that we could bike to town easily and a super short walk to the beach. The only thing that would have made it even better for us would be allowing pets.

Very nice house The house suits us well. Bedrooms are good for my family. Adjoining bathrooms are great. Have rented this house for at least the last 3 years. Will do again. Great location!

Nice, well maintained, convenient oceanside property This is a nice one-owner property that is well maintained. The same family has owned it since it was built. The furniture is clean and comfortable, kitchen is well-stocked and cabinets marked for what goes in them! The appliances work well and there is plenty of counter space. The upper level is bright and open! The bedrooms and bathroom are nicely appointed, beds are comfortable and there is a full-size washer and dryer in the ground floor level. There is a nice pool with plenty of chairs/lounges and even a refrigerator! There is a hot tub in the carport area, an outdoor shower, Bornholm, bikes, a hammock and several porch swings. It is a very short walk to beach access in a nice and quiet culdesac. My only issue is that the photos and descriptions do not state there is a chair lift on both sets of interior step which makes using them tough when carrying anything. We used the outside steps nearly all week because they were easier to navigate. We really enjoyed the house overall and would consider it again!
