Fabulous for Multi-Family Vacation Papa Duck was perfect for our multi-family vacation with 8 adults and 4 kids! The elevator was ideal for my elderly parents but also loading/unloading, getting groceries, etc. The pool made it hard for us to even leave for the beach some days. The common room with the kitchen and living room on the 3rd floor was the best hangout for our family, with the Roku setup so our kids could watch their shows at bedtime and enough seating for everyone (when you use the smaller table as a kids table). Most rooms having their own en suite bathroom made showering before pictures/dinner so much more efficient. Plus being walkable to both the beach and the boardwalk was such a great spot.
Superb! This home has it all! From the elevator to ease toting groceries and luggage to the private hot tub and pool, and the ensuite bedrooms with comfy beds and personal TVs, wet bar and game room, outdoor shower and fish cleaning station, Papa Duck is a clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated home in an ideal location. Walk to the beach during the day, walk to bars and restaurants in the evening, or enjoy a view of the Currituck Sound from the deck or private seating area for residents and their guests. Highly recommend!
Papa Duck Just wanted to thank you for a very nice house that we stayed in, Wish the weather was dry and warner but it was just nice to get away. I have a couple of things that I would like to have in the next house I get. 1, A TV in the Master bedroom, (The TV down stairs in Papa Duck remote was not working. 2) Make sure that you say that the Handicapped bathroom has bars in the shower and beside the toilet. Everything else was great.
Slice of Heaven I highly recommend Papa Duck for a beach vacation. Easy access to the ocean and bay, clean, comfy beds, lots of room, new and modern appliances, and all the amenities - including very well maintained pool, outdoor showerand hot tub!
Perfect for family gatherings House had everything needed for our family vacation. The pool, foosball table and of course kitchen and grill were all plus’s. The walk to the beach and sound was just about perfect. The elevator was extremely nice for my mom with access to every level. Duck is a great area. I have stayed in various areas of the outer banks but I like Duck the best out of all of them. You get the vacation feel of relaxing at a not so crowded beach and the boardwalk on the sound was a perfect evening walk…
Fantastic stay! We've been coming to the Outer Banks and renting vacation homes for years. Papa Duck is, by far, one of the best houses we've stayed in.
Papa Duck Review Papa Duck is a great house for a beach getaway!! Spacious, great accommodations and items for everyday use. The pool is a big plus, kids loved it when not at the beach!! Definitely a return visit for next year!! Our family had a wonderful time.

Great house for multiple families This house met all of our needs. We were vacationing with 2 other families and we all had adequate space to spread out. We cooked almost every night and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary appliances and utensils. The pool was larger than the pictures show, which was a nice surprise. The bedrooms were bright and clean, with working ceiling fans in them all. The reason for “very good” is because the grass was 2 feet tall and overgrown so the kids could not run around outside. They finally mowed the lawn on our last day. Also, the upper deck is brand new, but the middle deck is old and has a ton of nails coming up out of the boards and you must wear shoes out there so you don’t mess your feet up. Overall, those items did not ruin our vacation and I would happily stay there again.

Great location, great value! We really enjoyed our stay at Papa Duck. The layout of the house was perfect for a large family, and the pool and hot tub are lovely. The elevator was such a help. The bedroom furniture needs updating. With better mattresses this would be a 5 star review. The decks and pool deck could use a good powerwash, too. Note that the next door neighbor is a beekeeper, so you will see honeybees, but they are friendly and docile. Lots of wildlife, too. We saw several deer and a variety of birds! We loved being so close to Duck, and would stay here again.
Papa Duck We had family visiting from Ireland and this was the perfect spot for all our family to reunite! It was fantastic to see four generations all under one roof. Papa Duck was spacious and well laid out. Perfect location! Walks to the beach everyday and into Duck town! Awesome vacation!!!
Excellent Had a wonderful time from the time we walked through the door until we left. The house was clean and comfortable. There was lots of space indoors and out! We loved the pool and hot tub. The 2 dishwashers were awesome- we did lots of cooking ourselves so that was a big time saver. Location to the beach was perfect - we had a picture perfect week. Thank you so much!
