Great location and house for a family beach vacation Well appointed beach house with a short walk to the ocean. The kitchen was really well equipped and we loved the screened in dining porch. The house is nicely laid out with lots of outdoor spaces for relaxing. One minor comment is that the smaller second floor bathroom could use a little maintenance TLC but all in all, we had a fantasy stay and really enjoyed the house.

Beautiful views and ocean sounds Loved the views of the ocean and the fact that we could hear the waves! We could also see the sunrise from the deck. Very nice house that could use a few updates - more comfortable couches and fans in the bedrooms would be nice. Also, a walk in shower for one of the bathrooms would be helpful for grandparents. Loved the screened in porch and the pool, and the kitchen was very nicely stocked!

Loved the 'Bug! (Family of 4 in September) We really enjoyed our stay at Doodlebug! The weather wasn't the greatest so it was nice to have such a welcoming and relaxing place. You can not only see the ocean from the top balcony but also hear it- something so calming about the sound of ocean waves. Short walk to the beach- 5 min? We have an 8 year old and a 5 year old so it's hard to tell with faster adult legs how long it really was. Kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool. It's not heated but you know kids, they never cared! The outdoor shower has hot and cold water which was nice to rid outselves of our daily souvenir of sand. We now know where all our missing utensils take their vacation to- here. No need to bring anything like that/plates/cups- they have you covered with a plethora of kitchen things! The only thing we couldn't find was a lid for a frying pan, but not a big deal. We MacGyver'ed it up. The 'doodles' -aka oh my lands y'all have some talented artists in your family- were so fun to look at in each room of the house. Thank you for sharing that part of the house's name and not the bug part. Short drive to restaurants, maybe 5-10 min tops, which is a major plus on a vacation! No worries too, everywhere has you covered on chicken tenders and fries for kids. Mini golf was also a nice addition to our week of fun. We picked the one with a 27 hole course, which can sound 3x too long with little kids but it honestly was so fun, highly recommend! Thankyou for sharing your home with us!

Fun in the sun This house and location is a great value. The pool is fun. Easy walk to beach. Can't wait until next trip.the decks around the property could use a little attention.

Family Vacation Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Doodlebug. The location was amazing!! We loved the short walk to the beach. We also loved the pool!! It was nice to have the full outdoor shower and the foot shower. It had enough kitchen pots/pans to make do for a week. We did not have any kitchen dish towel and later when cooking realized we didn’t have any pot holders to get things out of the oven. The ice machine and the water machine on the fridge also did not work. The ice started to try to make ice but made about 5 ice cubes. Not the end of the world but would’ve been nice to have ice available. Newer/larger televisions would also be nice and ceiling fans or just a stand up fan because some bedrooms got a little stuffy. Those things did not make or break our trip tho! We had a great time and really enjoyed the house! We appreciate the owners allowing us to stay and we are looking at reserving the property again next year or the following year!!

Perfect place for families! We shared the week at The Doodlebug with another family and the layout was perfect for each family to have their own bathroom/bedroom set up. There was enough space for everyone to have a little getaway spot if needed and TV's in all of the bedrooms was nice in case the kids were having a lazy day. We loved the walking distance to the beach, the quietness of the community, awesome pool. We would love to stay here again!
