We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was welcoming, friendly, and very responsive throughout our stay. The house was fully stock. It has a great layout for lounging, relaxing, and eating. The top floor balcony view is perfect. I will definitely book again next October.

Overall this was an excellent stay and the spectacular views and restaurant/golf access is well worth a visit. The only reasons for a 4 star instead of a 5 are: non working fireplace on two levels. Dusty night tables in main bedroom, dust webs in living room under drapes. And inability to control temperature on each level. We would definitely book again, despite these minor issues.

This place was fantastic for our mom and boys trip-3 moms and 5 boys ages 13-16. The hosts were very responsive with checking in and answering questions. The house had so many nooks and crannies to hang out and enjoy and the layers of Mountain Views were endless. Comfortable, clean and spacious-the whole area is gorgeous. Instacart was available to the house for convenience. Five star all the way!! Our hearts and cups are full!

We took my family of 5 and our dog for spring break 2026 here. We loved the house. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The multiple fenced in decks were great for my dog so I didn’t always have to take her out on her leash. The house was large so we can all spread out because I have two teenagers. The movie theater was the biggest hit in our family although for some reason we couldn’t download Netflix and the remote was a little broken so we had to do a lot of talking into the remote, which wasn’t a big problem. The kitchen had everything we needed, and then some but the cabinets possibly needed to be reorganized. There were plenty of towels and hot tub towels for all of us. The beds were all comfortable to sleep in as well as the pillows. The view was just stunning. I can’t describe how beautiful this view was. It took about 16 minutes to come down the hill, but we knew that when we booked. BOOK this house you will not regret it.

The house had anything and everything that we could have ever needed. The view off the rear of the house is indescribable. What an amazing view. With the snow on the mountains, you could see every outline for miles of the mountains. All the amenities in the home were awesome! Most favorite for everyone was the pool table, pac man game, and the movie theater! And to top it off, the bedding on the beds were soooo soft and comfortable to sleep in. Also only a 2 minute drive to Hatley Pointe ski resort.

My experience at this place was incredible and exceeded all expectations. Without a doubt, we will return on our next winter trip. However, I would like to overlook a few small points that would be very important to improve. They are simple things, but still worth mentioning. We were a group of 13 people, and there were only 7 bath towels available. We couldn’t find blankets for all the beds, and none of the fireplaces were working. Aside from that, what is definitely worth mentioning is that the house is much better than in the photos — truly a dream home. None of these issues make the house bad; they are simply points to improve. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thank you to the host, who always responded immediately and was very attentive.
The view was absolutely incredible. The sunset is unlike any I’ve ever seen. The house would be great for two families. There is a kitchen and two bedrooms on the top floor, one bedroom and another kitchen on the bottom floor. The middle floor has two bunk beds with a pool table, games and a theater. House has everything you need to keep put for a while and enjoy a staycation if that’s what you want. The hot tub felt great and close to the bedroom door so you won’t get too cold getting out. There also is a small fenced in area for your dog if you bring your furry family. Asheville is only about 40 minutes away; we went several times. Definitely would recommend to stay but consider driving an all wheel or 4 wheel drive car. The driveway is very steep.
This is the perfect place to stay is you want a family friendly trip and there’s a lot to do around the house and in the house. I had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone and come back to this place anytime
The place was amazing, upon check in make sure you go to the main entrance or else you may have to go around the mountain but other than that we LOVED the overlook and look forward to visiting again soon.
The cabin that we stayed in for the weekend for my son’s men’s retreat before he is to get married was outstanding. We did not even go anywhere once we arrived at the home. There was so much to do at the home that no one got bored and wanted to leave! We are actually looking into this home for our family vacation . We will be back!!!
This house is absolutely gorgeous and the views are unbeatable! There were PLENTY of activities. We really enjoyed playing pool and watching movies in the movie room in the evenings. The porches are spacious and the outdoor hot tub has an amazing view and was well heated. We enjoyed the on site hiking trail. We LOVED it and will be back for sure.

I started planning a mini getaway for my family and immediate family and had little time to search for a place. We were looking for somewhere that could accommodate a larger group, a mountain peaceful location with a view and most importantly a place that would be kid friendly. Boy did this place not disappoint! It was nestled at the top of the mountain in a private gated community, with guard. It felt like we were in the clouds! The weather over the weekend was cool and rainy and it felt wonderful to take a break, away from the summer heat. There were great amenities for the whole family to enjoy time indoors and the outdoor jaccuzi was fantastic to e use with the weather and it was covered under the porch which kept us out of the rain. Having 3 different floors was amazing! It allowed everyone to enjoy family time, quiet time and so much more! Thank you for creating such a wonderful family friendly place for people to enjoy!

Debido a que es un área propenso a lluvias, deberían tener plantas eléctricas en caso de interrupción de la energía eléctrica, el parqueo debería ser de concreto por la inclinación al acceso al parqueo, deberían inspeccionar si todo funciona antes de que los siguientes huéspedes se alojen, pues algunas luces no funcionan, y/o ventiladores muy altos para hacerlos funcionar, el aire acondicionado funciona mejor en la planta alta que en las plantas de abajo, el jacuzzi debería estar adentro o en un cuarto privado pues al estar en la parte de afuera el inconveniente es el frío o el viento o los insectos, la presión del agua es muy baja tanto para lavado de manos trastos y/o bañarse, también en las primeras instrucciones dice que dejaron algunas copas de café para hacer café y no estaban solamente había té y café en polvo lo cual no es como dice las instrucciones, y después de todo la estancia no fue lo que esperábamos pero era lo que había ,,…🤷
Cabin Needs Some TLC We rented this cabin for my bachelor party. We overall thought the property itself was nice, but it was obvious it hadn’t been taken care of. What we liked about the cabin was the view on the back porch, its relatively remoteness, and some of the amenities. There were some things that caused us to give the property only 3 stars. We booked the cabin based on one of its main amenities, the theater room. We were planning to watch the final four and other sports together the whole weekend in the theater room while we shoot pool and relax. We spent days looking for the theater remote only to find it hidden in a kitchen drawer completely snapped in half. Additionally searching for the theater remote all over the cabin caused us to really take notice of the cleanliness of the place. We were looking under couches and chairs and found all types of old food. We found corn cobs, chip wrappers, and crumbs. The theater room really needs some TLC. We think the cabin itself is very nice, it just doesn’t seem like it has been taken care of. We may have been unlucky and had bad guest before us. We were not super happy of the condition on the place plus the inability to use the main amenity we booked the cabin for in the first place. For the price we paid, we left a bit let down
Nice view, terrible experience. My kids and nephews requested that the next cabin we book have a big TV. So we picked this one. It has a movie theater in it! When we arrived, the internet did not work. The kids quickly ran to the movie theater room but that room and every other TV in the house needed WIFI to work. The house was cold so we tried to turn on the fireplace and the top floor and middle floor fireplace would not turn on. The kids decided they wanted to go to the jacuzzi. The water was set to 104 but the water was cold. It was broken. We tried to turn on the fire pit. The couch was missing cushions and the pit had an empty propane tank with no spare. At this point, this is unbelievable. I reached out to the host without success. He responds quickly, but without fixing the issue. I spent the first two days of my vacation troubleshooting internet through back and forth texting. They finally got someone to come, however he couldn't fix the problems. The host kept telling us they were working on it and we kept getting that same message all the way up until our last day. We spent our entire 5 day trip without any wifi, use of TV, didn't get to watch a single movie in the movie theater room, stream music. This is a very poor business operation, poorly managed and the customer pays the price for the experience. The host claimed WIFI was down and apologized but after reaching out to the ISP, they claim there were no known outages in our area. Repairs can be made, but the problem here is the ownership.

Amazing Vacation Rental This is an amazing vacation rental. We were fortunately able to book this house fairly last minute for a family ski trip to Hatley Pointe. It was just our family staying but the house is very large with tons of space for multiple families if needed. The kids loved all of the amenities - pool table, arcade games, hot tub, bunk bed room and especially the movie theater was a big hit! Mountain views from the back decks are amazing. Could not have asked for a better VRBO home, can't wait to come back!

Great Mountain stay What a fun property! It was well stocked and VERY clean. We were all impressed. We stayed with another family and having three floors made it feel like we weren’t all smashed together. There were some small issues but I plan to message the host as the issues were not a deterrent at all. We would happily stay here again.
Family of 7 had plenty of space and plenty to do during our stay. Very close to Hately Point skiing and snow tubing.
Birthday weekend We had an amazing time! The house was bigger than I imagined. It was perfect for us! It snowed so we stayed inside more than planned and there was plenty in the house to keep the teenagers happy! Highly recommend this place!

Perfect mountain getaway! The entire process was smooth and there were no surprises -- from booking to check-out! The house was exactly as described and was the perfect amount of space for our group of 12. They obviously considered families when setting up the house, which is always a relief for short term rentals. We had no criticisms, and would stay again in a heartbeat.
Overall wonderful stay. We initially had some minor issues, but the host was very responsive and prompt with communication and addressing concerns. Views were amazing and the home fit everyone comfortably. Will definitely stay again.

Great weekend getaway! The property was definitely as described and very clean. The views are better than shown in the pictures. If you are looking for a quiet area to get away with friends or family, this is a great spot. It is 40 min, approximately, from Asheville proper, but that was not a big deal to our group. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place this large.

Beautiful mountain home Very impressive home with beautiful Mountain Views. Very well equipped. Top notch. Loved it. Check in was a bit nerve racking. We got in late and found the back security gate that Apple Maps had guided us to was not open. Had to drive around to the main gate that was about 20 minutes away. Other than that, very nice.

Fabulous Family Vacation What a wonderful house for our family gathering of three generations to spend time together. This is by far the best place we have ever rented. The views were beyond spectacular and we spent a lot of time outside on the wonderful decks. The location and house far exceeded our expectations. The owners went above and beyond to provide everything we needed for an outstanding week. We especially appreciated all the baby stuff provided and the well stocked kitchen. With three families gathering as one, having the lower floor “apartment” with a separate kitchen and washer and dryer certainly gave everyone the space that we needed. The pool table and movie theater were huge hits. We loved exploring the area, taking walks (the rhododendrons were in bloom and gorgeous) and hiking part of the AppalachianTrail (direct access in the community) up Big Bald Mountain. Everyone had a great time and we are all hoping to return next year. The only drawback was the driveway. You do need 4WD to get up and down the steep gravel driveway which gives you direct access to the house. Two parking spaces are located at the top of the drive for 2WD cars or you can park at the clubhouse. However, you still need to be able to traverse the steep drive on foot with luggage, coolers, etc. as there are not any stairs to the house. If you are traveling with someone in a 2WD who is unable to navigate steep slopes on foot, I would not recommend it. To all others, enjoy the beauty of mountains!

Great place, some issues with wifi Beautiful home with perfect areas for multi-family stay. We stayed as a family of 5, and had a great time. Beautiful view, comfortable beds and pillows. Generous kitchen, all cooking amenities present. Ample towels and toiletries. One day we did not have wifi access for the entire morning and afternoon, and we did not receive any response from the management company we called. Luckily, DIY trouble-shooting with the router in the bunk bed room finally fixed the issue. Definitely need AWD vehicle for the steep driveway, but there is a parking pad space at the top of the driveway for one vehicle (if you don’t mind carrying luggage down the driveway). Thanks for the stay!
Overall, the accommodation was nice but we left very frustrated with the overall experience as we had issues with several amenities in the home. Although there was responsiveness from the host, there never was any resolution to the issues (main ones being the wifi and outdoor fire pit not working). Frankly, the communication felt like a chat bot with the request to send a photo with every issue we inquired about. In some cases that may be necessary but why do you want a photo of the nice gas pit that doesn’t work? Again, felt like canned responses. The fireplaces on each floor have an overwhelming smell of gas. We opted not to use these as it was not evident there were any carbon monoxide detectors in the home. There are smoke detectors. Took a lot of time to determine the thermostat is touch. As mentioned earlier, the porch table/fire pit did not work. There was no obvious solution for this. I was asked to take a picture and send which I did. Never got a solution to the
Perfect family friendly home with beautiful long range views We celebrated my husbands birthday by staying at this home for the weekend and it was perfect! There were so many activities and toys to keep my kids entertained while the adults were able to relax And enjoy the beautiful views. There was everything you need for toddlers/ infants and gates already installed at the stairs. The hosts were very kind and responsive. The gated community was lovely And we enjoyed going for a walk on the trails that were a short drive from the house. We will absolutely book this home again!
Nice location with great views. Had a few issues during our stay. Did not have enough towels for our group and had to shower in shifts as towels were available. Host did not correct the issue as requested. The grill was completely unusable and had to throw out steaks because of it. Wi-Fi went out a few times resulting to no TV on the first floor. Might return if the issues above get addressed. The driveway is super steep from the parking lot to the entrance of the house. Would be very difficult for elderly folks to get from the car to the house.
Fantastic I cannot recommend enough! Great place that suited our needs perfect! Very clean and everythingw was as advertised. Equipped with games galore, plenty of comfortable sleeping, and the in-house theater was awesome. The pictures are great but don't do it justice. If you're looking, stop. This is the one.
No cellular connection if you have At and T, there are a lot of amenities listed on the ad for this property! but when internet is down! you can not use most of them! and that is what has happened to us! no internet for 2 days, that means no music، no Tv, No home teather and if you need to work, we are sorry!

Beautiful house with beautiful views! We had a few minor issues but the host was quick to respond and quick to send someone to the house to take care of the problem. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our large group. We had 10 kids, 8 adults and 2 dogs and we never felt crowded in the house. The kitchen was stocked well with spices, flour, sugar. Very kid friendly. Each stair had a baby gate. Highly recommend if you are a large group. Especially if you have children.

Somewhat disappointed The house is gorgeous and the location is great if you want a house off the beaten path. The driveway is steep and requires 4WD, which is no big deal. The views are gorgeous. My main issue with our stay was that several things were broken/missing (toilet was broken, smoke detectors missing or without batteries, one of the speakers for movie room was broken), damaged (projector bulb was burnt out causing half the screen to be brown, some of the doors to laundry and movie rooms were off track had damaged tracks) or dirty (hot tub had a distinct layer of film). The gas was also off for the heating and fireplaces downstairs. When we contacted management to inform them of concerns/request repairs through the email that they used to reach out to us, the response was prompt, but often "let me check on that :)". I would never hear back without sending another email and all three of the handyman visits were unannounced, despite asking that we get some notice as we wanted to make plans in Asheville. Each time a handyman arrived, they didn't know about most of the things that were reported despite the multiple communications. Eventually, I stopped reporting things because I felt I wasn't being heard. This house could be five stars with proper repairs of the main draws (movie room projector and speakers, hot tub). I wouldn't deter someone from staying here but I would check in to make sure nothing is in a state of disrepair prior to booking.
This place was nuts. The pictures don’t do the view justice. 10/10 recommend. The view to price ratio is super view heavy. I went for peak fall and it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing that’s weird isn’t the hosts fault which is that to function as a member in the community, you need a guest pass to get in, a key card for the gym, a separate pass for golfing and restaurant access which is confusing to get, a separate card to use the dumpster, and a separate pass to access pickle ball and other facilities. It’s like brother. Just give us one pass.
We hope to visit again in the future & we appreciate the host’s hard work.
This house and location were amazing. The pictures are very accurate and the scenery was breathtaking. We went with 2 other families and there was plenty of space. The only downside (and it’s still worth a 5 star rating) lots of light bulbs were out, the basement was so cold (we found the heaters), and we were told cleaners were going to drop off more shock for the hot tub and we never received) POSITIVES…hosts were so friendly and extremely responsive, they were proactive in telling us about an AC/heat problem and offered a partial refund before we got there, the house had everything we needed, plus 2 washer/dryers, lots of space, the community center was so fun (& included), very comfy, plenty of things to do around the house, and the movie theater was a hit. All in all, we would go back in a heartbeat!!
The pictures do not do this amazing home justice. Could not ask for a better place to spend the week with our family. We never ran out of things to do from the game room to the movie room to the unbelievable views. Far exceeded our expectations. We have been home for a couple hours but already miss this amazing home. We would give this property 6 stars if we could. We will be back soon!

The Overlook Lodge is greater than the sum if its parts, as advertised, and perfectly suited for a larger gathering of family and friends. The weekend was perfect. The accommodations were top tier. The views, sublime. This is a special spot. Would love to return.
My stay here was excellent, the view from the home was honestly better than expected from the photos. The home has been taken care of very well, no stains on the carpets from pets/children, spotless shower curtains/tubs, clean dishes/silverware, no smudges on the windows etc. I’d say the pictures accurately depict the home and the owners are very outgoing and responsive if you need anything. I’d highly recommend checking it out!
