This listing should be removed from Airbnb; we would not return. It was a serious safety concern. When we arrived for check-in, the owners were inside the house, in violation of the agreement. They asked to stay with us and argued with me for over 20 minutes when I refused. During that time, they asked me to follow them to another part of the house to show me where they would sleep and insulted me when I said no. Guests should never be pressured by a host who refuses to leave a rental. I messaged property management that the owner was present and refusing to leave, and asked for an urgent call. Nobody called; I had to call them. Earlier, they said they would look into my early check-in request, and clearly never did, since the house hadn't been cleaned. Listed fees didn't match the rental contract, rules were scattered throughout the listing, and the contract carried over $10,000 in potential fees. "Kylie" was unreachable; every call went to a call center. Deceptive and unprofessional.
The house itself is beautiful, the surroundings and view is gorgeous, and there was lots of places to fit our families. HOWEVER...the managing company is very concerning, from their customer service to whoever they have cleaning the place, it is below par! There were inches of dust everywhere, especially on ceiling fans. There was a dead fly squished on the window frame and was just left there. The hot tub stopped heating/working 2nd (out of 4)night we were there and all we got from Kylie was "thank you for your patience and understanding" no one came to fix it, no one followed up until we texted them. Then, to remedy the situation, they offered 20% off our next stay with them-something they offer to everyone. We would NEVER stay in ANY property managed by this company. We're world travelers and have stayed in many properties around the world and we were extremely disappointed. Not with the property itself, and with the right management company would be a great property to visit.
My husband and I spent 5 nights at this lovely home. We brought our pup with us and had a great time playing games in the backyard. The bed in the primary bedroom was very comfortable and the house was well stocked with everything you need. The view was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed how private and quiet the location was.
An awesome home for a large group. Our group had 6 and still had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy privacy whenever we needed it. The living room, kitchen, and dining area were perfect for gathering together to cook, share meals, and play games.
The back decks were absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and beautiful sunsets. At night, when you turn the lights off, the sky comes alive The Milky Way is clearly visible and shooting stars shoot across the darkness.
If you’re looking for a private home at the top of a mountain with breathtaking surroundings, this is your place!
My wife and I hung out here for a few days with the our 6 kids(3 months - 11). It was on the way to the beach and we like breaking up the travel. We took advantage of the house’s amenities, went hiking at some local trails, made s’more’s, watched the solar eclipse, star gazed and explored. While sitting on the porch we had a black bear run through the yard and had deer grazing. Would highly recommend for all ages. Extremely peaceful area…. You are at the top of the mountain. Our Sprinter van made it up the hill. Thanks for the great experience.
Wonderful stay. Hosts are very responsive. It’s definitely more remote and great for morning walks. Would recommend for families in future.
We couldn't have picked a better place for our mountain vacation. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had more than enough room for our entire group to spread out. Whether someone wanted a quiet place to read or everyone wanted to gather for meals and games, the home accommodated it all with ease. The weather didn't cooperate during our visit, but that ended up being part of the charm. We spent our time enjoying the cozy atmosphere indoors, playing games, sharing laughs, and watching the fog roll through the mountains. Our dogs loved exploring the porches and relaxing outside whenever the rain let up.Despite feeling tucked away in the mountains, we never felt isolated. Picking up groceries was easy with stores in Mars Hill, and Weaverville is a short drive away if you need additional shopping options like Walmart. Asheville was also close enough for a scenic day trip.If it's your first time visiting, just know the final approach to the cabin is a steep gravel climb. The rest of the drive is straightforward, but a vehicle with all-wheel or four-wheel drive and good ground clearance will make the last section much easier.Communication with the host was outstanding from beginning to end. Every question was answered promptly, and everything about the stay was exactly as described. We'd gladly return and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape.
This place was perfect! Breathtaking views, clean relaxing hot tub, nice decor, plenty of space. The pool table in the great room got teens off their phones and made for a memorable trip. Convenience store with cooked food and gas station at bottom of hill. Close to grocery store and charming small town. Great hiking nearby. Close to Asheville. Everything was perfect! The hosts got back to me right away if I had a question but really nothing was lacking. I would definitely come back again and recommend! The driveway seems steep at first but we were fine in summer with a rear wheel drive SUV. I imagine in winter you may need 4-wheel drive. It was very peaceful and relaxing, and a great summer getaway from the heat of coastal SC. It was much cooler here in the summer. I wouldn’t change anything about this place.
We had a wonderful family stay here. It was everything we could have asked for — peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful views. The house was very clean, and we had no issues at all during our stay. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would be happy to stay here again.
Great location for family meet up. Host responsive and accommodating
Kylie’s place was the perfect house for me and my friends to stay in! The views from the backyard were beautiful and the house itself was amazing! It had everything we needed. When I had any questions Kylie was very quick to respond and that was very helpful! We would definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay with family! very communicative hosts that respond promptly and help with any issues!
While thinking about this review, I couldn’t think of any cons. We really enjoyed our stay. The view was spectacular and the home was clean. Kylie responded to my messages quickly.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The view was gorgeous and there was plenty of space at the house for us to be able to spread out and feel comfortable. We loved that we were able to bring our family dog, who is like a 5th family member. The drive up to the house from the highway was a bit more than we expected and we are fortunate that we listened to the recommendation to bring an SUV with AWD. The one and only complaint I have is that the pans and skillets in the kitchen were totally worn out and impossible to use for cooking. On top of it, several of the pans were literally caked with food and many of the glasses were dirty. We started washing dishes before we used them. That aside, the hosts were communicative and eager to address the very few issues we presented to them. Beautiful view, very remote, and fabulous house for a family getaway!
Kylie’s house at Mars Hills had a beautiful scenery and was the perfect place to go for a group get away. Kylie was very helpful when asked questions and made sure to check in on us just in case. The house itself was very clean and had lots of room for eating, lounging, and group activities. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone who wants a relaxing home away from home to stay at for a bit.
Our family of seven loved staying at this beautiful property. The home has a great layout with bedrooms spread across 3 floors and a large central living area with wonderful, private views out over the mountains.
The location is great for a peaceful setting and spending family time at home. It’s also super convenient to Hatley Pointe skiing and Zip n Slip snow tubing, both of which were perfect for our family of Floridians looking for winter activities. The only downside is you’re a 40-minute drive into downtown Asheville if you’re looking to have meals out. The general store close by was mentioned in prior reviews, but it appears to be out of business. It worked fine for us as we cooked at home most nights and other than the lack of close restaurants, the property really is perfect. We would definitely stay again!
Great spot! Perfect layout for multiple families to share.
Beautiful home with a great view! Perfect for a weekend get away. Hosts were so helpful and communicative throughout the entire process.
Beautiful home with lots to do, beautiful views, great hosts/communication. Would stay here again!
Excellent stay with great hosts!
Stunning home and location! Elliott and Kylie were so responsive, within minutes.
You do need 4WD, but that is part of the fun. Lots of games, inside and outside to keep adults and kids entertained.
Highly recommend!
Loved this spot! We were 2 families of total 8 people and it was very spacious and can easily take 2 more people.
very clean and includes everything. Just grab your groceries!
Many board games, pool, and foosball table.
The hot tub is just a great spot with a view.
Dining table to fit everyone.
It's about 30 minute drive up the mountain from Asheville. There are some steep and narrow roads leading to the house, but nothing that needs special driving skills.
I would recommend this place and would happily stay there again.
Stunning views, great space, well laid out and well maintained. Hosts were super responsive. Easy access to the new Hatley ski mountain which has all year round activities and a nice restaurant. There is a tiny provisions store right down the road for grocery basics and coffee and ice cream, but the big supermarket is only 20 min away in Mars Hill.
The only thing that wasn’t mentioned before we booked was that you need a 4-wheel drive or at minimum an SUV even in the summer. The road to get to the house is very rough and steep, with huge ditches carved out from the rain. Very unlikely someone could get up there in a sedan. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise, we had a great time and would love to go back again!
Nice house with a beautiful view. SUV is recommended for access. The hosts were very communicative and responsive.
I just have to say thank you for everything. It's a beautiful place for lovers of tranquility.
After an exciting drive in and up the mountain, we found this mountain cabin to be a great stay. It had pretty much everything we needed as a family of 5 including a separate room/area for each of our kids. The house was clean enough and we really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The views are breathtaking. As an FYI, it's about a 25 minute (one way) drive down the mountain to get to the nearest town - Mars Hill. So make sure you've got everything you need before you get there. We loved our stay in the area - hiking, white water rafting and fishing are all within a 45 minute drive. Recommend staying here.
Very nice place. Had everything we needed and wanted. Poop table, hot tub, and other games were great for hangout time.
Great place
We had a beautiful stay. Highly recommend!
I had an incredible experience! The views are absolutely stunning and the place is so peaceful perfect for relaxing and disconnecting.
I definitely recommend it, and I would gladly come back in the future.
it was a great place for family trips, lots of space and activities.
We had a wonderful stay. The house fit our large group really well. Plenty of space and amenities in the unit. It was quite a hike up the mountain to the place, but the views and seclusion were wonderful.
they were super communicative with us through our the whole trip! the mountain drive up is a little spooky but overall great place & would stay again!
We had an amazing stay with our family and pup during Spring Break in March. Highlights for us include (1) the breathtaking view especially during sunrise and sunset (2) the open concept living room and kitchen floor that allowed for us to play games, watch movies, and cook together (3) the outdoor games and fire pit area (4) the incredible hot tub and (5) the privacy we were able to get for 6 adults due to the variety of sleep options and bathroom options. We also really enjoyed Mars Hills and Asheville (45 min drive). Amazing coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, shopping, and we even checked out a distillery tour while we were there. Our hosts were super responsive and very considerate. Their attention to detail within their home was appreciated by our family so much and we are looking forward to returning sometime soon for another family vacation!
This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a peaceful weekend getaway. Beautiful views from every window in the house and enough space from neighbors to maintain privacy.
Great house. Beautiful view. Host were very helpful, kind, and responsive. Kitchen with everything you need.
We had a fantastic stay at this cabin! It was the perfect balance of remote and private, giving us a peaceful getaway, while still being conveniently close to grocery stores and necessities. The home itself was stunning—well-maintained, cozy, and spacious enough for our family. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, making it a relaxing and memorable experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a family-friendly retreat in nature! 5/5 stars!
We had a great stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly and responsive. Highly recommend and would stay again!
Very nice and peaceful mountain house. Beautiful Mountain View’s, comfortable place . My family and I had a very good time there. We definitely will come back!
Great place, take in consideration that you would need a 4x4 to get uphill, icy road. Beautiful view and very nice house
My family and I were completely and utterly disappointed and horrified with our stay. Upon arrival, the unit was FILTHY. Every room either had dog or human hair on the bed. The upstairs master bathroom has dirty tissue and clogged up hair in the drains. There was dead lady bugs all over the upstairs floor. The kitchen oven was filthy and dusty. We were up until 3am washing our sheets and comforters. The host did not work with us in requesting a refund. I would I avoid this place at all costs. They lied and said that we could not check in early due to the cleaning crews schedule. Fun fact. The cleaning crew never claim. I would give this place negative 100 stars if I could. Highly disappointed
What a great place. Elliot and Kylie are super responsive. It felt right at home. The views are breathtaking, the house is amazing and comfortable. Everything there is outstanding and that’s why we keep coming back year after year. Highly recommend.
The views here are absolutely stunning! And the house has the perfect decks to enjoy those views.
That said the listing is not clear about how far out the property is up the mountain in Mars Hill and away from everything else (50 minutes to Asheville).
We found the house to not be cleaned well upon arrival. Other than general dust, cobwebs, stains/holes on walls, dead bugs and sticky spots on the floor - there were several lights that didn’t work or needed bulbs changed, two door thresholds that were broken, the downstairs bathroom sink was slow draining, the sink disposal stopped working leading to a clogged dirty sink, and there was a couple of inches of standing dirty water in the toilet brush container downstairs.
If you are truly looking for a mountain retreat away from everything this would be perfect if better maintained.
Great stay. Exactly what we were looking for.
Had a great stay here, such a beautiful location overlooking the mountains. Would definitely recommend to others!
Beautiful home and area to stay in. Tons of space and great amenities. Couldn't recommend it more!
We enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were very attentive to our needs and there was always clear communication between our party and our hosts. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family.
Beautiful scenery! Very secluded mountain views. Lots of room for our family vacation. We enjoyed all this place had to offer!
Highly recommend!
Family Vacation Gem
Our group of 10 (ages 83 to 16) had plenty of room in this amazing home. The three levels allowed for plenty of spaces to sleep and hang out. We took advantage of the hot tub and outside games. Our pup enjoyed sunning on the various porches. The grocery store is about 20 mins away in Mars Hill (exit 11). There is a gas station on your way in or out of the area. And only about 30 mins to downtown Asheville. The road is STEEP, but paved the whole way. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back again. Great communication and questions answered promptly. Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing place and stunning view. Definitely recommend for large groups we were able to comfortably stay with all our friends. Loved and hoping to return with family.
We had a nice stay at this home, it easily accommodated our group of 7 comfortably. The views are incredible, we enjoyed a number of the amenities (hot tub, pool table, yard games, grill), and had plenty of space throughout the home. It's worth noting this home is 45 minutes from Asheville, which wasn't entirely clear to us at the time of booking, and made trips down there for sightseeing somewhat cumbersome (but still doable). The home itself was not as well stocked as similar/prior Airbnbs I've stayed in (no cleaning supplies for kitchen/bathrooms, 1/2 roll of paper towels, no basic cooking supplies) and the home is in need of some maintenance (multiples fixtures that did not work, bulbs out, carpet tiles coming up, wood rot on the decks). These two items made this stay just shy of 5 stars for us. The host was very responsive to questions. Overall, a good Airbnb in a beautiful location with nice amenities.
the views/sunsets were absolutely beautiful. the house had enough space for our grown children, spouses, grandchildren. clean and well stocked. we enjoyed the hot tub and games.
My husband and I rented Saphire Sky for a family trip with our three adult daughters, who all traveled in from different states. We had a wonderful trip, and loved our stay at this home. The home is as pictured. We loved that the home provided multiple areas to gather and/or allow for everyone's privacy throughout our stay. The main deck that is on the main floor and runs the length of the house is a large outdoor area to gather for meals, social time or just to relax and enjoy the phenomenal views of the Blue Ridge. There is also a front porch, and additional decks upstairs off the master bedroom and the back of the home, to allow you to break off and have private time away from the group and still enjoy the views. There are other homes in the area, but the woods between the homes provides for privacy during your stay. The bedrooms are also situated throughout the three floors of the house, which allow for privacy as well. We will definitely be booking this home again
Magnificent find! Everything was as described. The view and privacy were amazing. We loved listening to the many varieties of bird species. We travel to NC mountains several weeks a year and have tried many Airbnb’s. This one was exceptional.
We had such a memorable experience! The view from the house is even more spectacular in person as you might imagine. It was a spacious and lovely home that was perfect for our small family reunion.
Wonderful place with very responsive hosts. We will return.
We stayed here for my friends’ joint bachelor/bachlorette party and had a wonderful time. Everything was appropriately advertised and we could have fit even more people had we needed to! I don’t come to the mountains often and the winding drive to get there was a little intimidating, but it meant a beautiful view abd plenty of nature to enjoy! I would advise future travelers to keep in mind that it is colder at that altitude than some of the surrounding towns you may be visiting.
We celebrated three family members’ birthdays and had plenty of room for 11. The view was beautiful and the home exactly as the pictures showed! Very comfortable and fully equipped with kitchen, grill, games and more! Thank you for the quick responses to questions that made everything easy for us to sit back and enjoy.
Great Property
Super Nice
Great Experience
View is really great! This is a real getaway if you looking for some time alone in the mountains. Had great time outside by the fire with family. House is big! Lots to do :) Thank you!
