Great family vacation The location on a lake with easy access to 2 pools and beaches made this a vacation to remember. Several family members enjoyed kayaking on the lake being able to access the lake from the backyard. From Westward facing balconies we enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The elevator was a wonderful asset as well as the two large dishwashers. Check-in and check out were very easy. The gift basket from the owners was a very special surprise the video game was a big hit for our grandsons who were 8,9 and 10. The only downside although it was not a real detriment was the cooktop, not all the burners were working but kitchen was pretty well equipped

Relaxing week on the lake Sunset Cottage was a perfect fit for our 3 families enjoying a relaxing weekend. The beach was a small walk or we could drive and park. The pools were both great, whether we were at the ocean or just wanted a few hours in the lake pool. We loved the lake and tried fishing but only caught snapping turtles. The kitchen was fully stocked and the living room had plenty of seating for our nightly family games.

We’ve been staying in Corolla for the last decade and this is a unique gem. Located on a fresh water lake, we rented kayaks to enjoy sunsets while catching a few fish. With young kids it was nice to have flexibility to make the short trek to the beach or just pop out back to enjoy lake and views. The house is mostly little kid friendly, but has many breakable items and no gate so come prepared. The bottom floor was great for the kids to enjoy time and the elevator is a much appreciated convenience. The location is close enough to restaurants, but for us being so close to the 4x4 beach was nice to take our Jeep out. We loved our stay and are looking forward to staying again soon!

Gorgeous Sunsets We can't say enough about our great week at Sunset Cottage in September 2025. We gathered with our extended family, (seven adults, and four grandkids under 4. The layout is great for families with plenty of roomy bedrooms and bathrooms and separate floors for family units. The elevator makes the three-story living easy for all ages and helps tremendously with groceries and luggage in and out. The place was very clean and well-stocked. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets on the private lake behind the home during our evening cookouts. The beach is within walking distance for adults; sometimes we chose to walk and pull the kids in wagons, other times we drove to the parking area at the beach. The beaches at this location are extremely wide and flat which provides plenty of space for beachgoers. The Corolla area offers lots to do for all ages! We hope to return next year to this wonderful and relaxing home.

Beautiful Home Beautiful, well decorated beach house in Corolla. Well-appointed with all the kitchen-ware you need to cook at home. Convenient to walk or bike to the beach and Corolla Village with lighthouse, coffee house, and BBQ restaurant nearby. Would definitely love to stay again.

My Favorite Spot I was at Sunset Cottage in March of 2024 and again in April of 2025.With such a great location, (half block from the lakefront pool, 5 minute bike ride from oceanfront pool, and nightly sunsets on the lake) it is just the ideal setting. My love for cooking for our group was perfect with the 2 dishwashers, 2 refrigerators and a large, well equipped kitchen. The elevator made everything so convenient. This beautifully decorated, almost new cottage, has it all.I like to travel extensively, and when I have the opportunity to get to the Outer Banks,vSunset Cottage will always be my favorite spot.

Wonderful Home! This home was beautiful and met our needs perfectly! Several bedrooms and bathrooms, multiple decks with plenty of outdoor furniture, lovely lake view, and about a 10 or 15-minute walk to the beach. We found the two refrigerators to be very helpful for our large group. The kitchen was also extremely well-stocked with all kinds of gadgets and dishes and glassware. We loved it and we’re already thinking of coming back next year.
